04/02/2018 - 11:39pm What a group!

Worked hard, played together, won and lost with class. Was a GREAT SEASON!

01/25/2018 - 7:08pm Constant recording of Victim Statements

They should constantly play and replay a recording of all of the victim statements from his sentencing.  Play it on an infinite loop so he can never forget how all 160+ people are now gaining strength and thriving while he suffers forever.

12/19/2017 - 9:31am The largest crock of crap

The largest crock of crap to me is that a Ref puts his foot down signalling where the ball is to be spotted - fine, when the guy was down is a human decision.

The crock is that, if it's a first down, one of the stick guys just eyeballs the position of the ref's foot from 20+ yards away and plops the point of the stick down.  The other guy stretches out the chain from this spot.

When we spot the starting location (yard 0) by eyeballing from the sideline, yard 10 should only ever be determined the same way.  The mere idea of measuring and saying you are 1 inch short of the first down implies the guy who determined "yard 0" was perfect which he was not.

08/18/2017 - 7:48am 15 more sleeps!!!!

In the parlance of my youth, only 15 more sleeps until game one!  Only 6 more sleeps until my son plays his first varsity HS game!  Good times coming.

05/26/2017 - 7:23am Happy Weekend

Have as much fun as this guy!

05/26/2017 - 7:22am Thank you

Thank you for these write-ups.  Knowing somewhat what teams are trying to do helps me enjoy football even more.  I enjoyed the Lombardi teaching video link also, although it was somewhat like a middle schooler showing up in a calculus class for a day.

05/12/2017 - 11:47am Universe has a sense of humor...

04/14/2017 - 11:29am New thing to say to my students...

At least get up to thud tempo.

03/22/2017 - 11:35am Was at the GRC/Kzoo Game too

I was also at the game yesterday and am a GRC fan so was hoping Livers looked good but not too good.  Livers indeed looked like a smooth shooter and very athletic player who is playing a bit out of position on his HS team simply because he is the tallest guy on the team.  He also had a hard time scoring early because the defensive plan by GRC was quite clearly designed to make someone else do the scoring.  The two men who spent most of the night guarding Livers did a good very good job staying in front to contest any shots but they had serious help in case of a drive as there were always one or two others rotate toward his side and with eyes on him when he had the ball to help out.  Livers did the smart thing and passed the ball (pretty nicely) to his open teammates who mostly proceeded to miss open shots.  That's good basketball by Livers and just missed shots.  I think that when he can play a more natural-seeming position he'll be just fine at UM - he clearly has skills.  In the second half, he did some more 1-on-1 things showing pretty good ball handling and quickness and ability to get a contested jumper off.  It's almost like he just decided (or was told at halftime) to try to be "the man" a little more instead of creating chances for teammates.  I liked his unselfishness and court vision - things that will be more productive when the guys he is passing to are named Wagner, Wilson, Robinson, and others.  He obviously can get stronger and work on his pad level but the skills are there and Coach B will be much more able to put him in comfortable positions on the court.

12/30/2016 - 8:43am My wife's work scheduled

My wife's work scheduled a "Christmas" dinner and bowling tonight.  Her old boss, a huge M fan would have moved the thing once the bowl date was set.  Not so much this time.  I think there are some berries in the back yard that might get me the night off...

12/20/2016 - 11:03am YEAH!

12/20/2016 - 10:54am I learn so much.

Thanks for taking the time to draw and explain these topics.  I watch football so much more intelligently now!  Often I even notice which guy messed up instead of just yelling at the QB or RB.

12/09/2016 - 11:46am Just WIN

11/21/2016 - 3:37pm DL Tracy Sprinkle = Jackmerius Tacktheritrix

11/20/2016 - 12:20pm All the work

Let's go win The Game

11/18/2016 - 10:23am Punt Gun Big Bang

11/15/2016 - 9:46pm Backup QB Mike Fiacable = Mr Deeds' Butler

11/15/2016 - 3:15pm And that's what

strong team leadership looks like.  I hope all the freshmen and sophomores watch how these guys carry themselves after both wins and losses.  Such maturity, determination, and humility.  Go Blue.

11/12/2016 - 12:51pm Sorry

11/12/2016 - 10:29am I don't know what she's doing with her hands but....

11/11/2016 - 10:06am Harbaugh will breach it.

11/10/2016 - 7:39pm WR Connor Keane = Jesse Tyler Ferguson

11/09/2016 - 10:28am And he's only a RS Soph

Speight sounds so calm and knowledgable.  Superior coaching combined with a great intellect and developing instinct is making me more and more excited for the rest of this year.  Speight is also going to be a tremendous asset next year when our O-line gets younger.

11/09/2016 - 10:05am Thad in contemplation

He looks older than 49 in a basketball uniform but a little younger here.

11/09/2016 - 9:47am Audio editing?

Someone with skills should insert cricket sounds and the howl of a distant wolf.  Maybe a rustling tumbleweed blowing by also.
