The refs were horrible the whole game but our own mistakes cost us the game. Critical drops on 3rd down, a stupid facemask, a pick 6, another pick that led to a score, a fumble on the goal line, letting Samuel turn a big negative play to a 9 yard gain to set up the controversial call, and more. We had the game in our hands and didn't finish the deal. Again.

Exactly. I think most of us hate blaming the refs and we did plenty to keep them in a game that we clearly were the better team. But the one sided officiating in the 4th quarter was absolutely atrocious and Harbaugh has every right to call them out and I support him 100%. That spot was the biggest joke I've ever seen and the non pi's called on them when they did the same thing Delano did was laughable. This game hurts so bad, and while I agree that we kept them in it with dumb turnovers, the refs were an embarrassment to the sport.

"If we executed we win" bs.  Or, "it never should have been that close for officiating to matter."

Fuck that.  We were the better team and got robbed on numerous calls that changed the momentum of the game from the bs blocking facemask call to the numerous PIs that they got and we didnt.

Total BS, the team deserved to win.

Yes!! People are acting like it came down to one bad call, but the summation of bad calls kept OSU offense on the field, wore down our D and made them second guess everything toward the end of the game, and prevented our offense from converting 3rd downs (at least two drives completely stopped due to poor calls on 3rd downs).

God, he just needs to stop.  His constant temper tantrums aren't cute anymore, and the penalty that he personally got very well could have swung the game.  It isn't endearing anymore, stop throwing fits, stop calling out refs, and be a fucking adult.

this game was not officiated consistently AT ALL and that last spot was pure bullshit, they got fucking stoned and in reality they got a very generous spot on the previous play. FUCKING BULLSHIT. its like the equivalent of the Desmond -Eddie Brown '90 MSU game level of bullshit. its a shame, despite the mistakes, This team actually overcame them and in reality deserved to win. Its too bad they had to overcome corrupt officiating as well

BTW:Hurst, please, please come back next year!. AVENGE this attrocity !

Good. Fuck those incompetent pieces of shit. Yes we handed them the game, but that was blatant fuckery. Just cost us the B1G championship and CFP. All because of 1 bullshit spot.

Glad he did this. What can be taken away from this game is that you HAVE to beat OSU soundly when you play in Columbus. The refs will decide the game for you if you play it too close. Don't give them that chance. It's a sad truth that should never be allowed, but it is reality.

the officiating late in the game was terrible.  Not calling pass intereference on our 3rd down was so obvious and the simple physics of the 4th down play by Barrett was just as obvious.  The angle from beyond the line of scrimmage show Barret ran into his own man and the ball bounced off his lineman's ass and that ass was short of the line to gain.  The physics are simple.

We didn't play well enough in the fourth quarter and never ahould have gotten to that point, but to have replay from multiple angles and still get it wrong is inexcusable.

I do believe they missed the play clock running to zero as well... Regardless, that running into the kicker play was costly. We have been doing it all year and I knew it would cost us. Interceptions and goal line fumble were costly. How did we lose this game??? The defense played great, offense was great sans turn overs, special teams were fantastic. Refs really played a role in the win for osu, but we helped them stay on the field with silly penalties. Ugh.

I know it's unlikely, but there's still a chance Michigan can make the CFP. Colorado can beat Washington, and there's a chance VT can beat Clemson. Michigan would be as good a 2 loss team as there is in the country (beat Colorado, Wisconsin, PSU and quite frankly should've beat Ohio).

The nice thing about the committee is they can look at a game like this and decide Michigan did get screwed by the crappy officials and can take that into consideration.

Again, not a great probability, but stranger things have happened.

P.S. Go Blue. Fuck Ohio.

Richard75

That still wouldn't do it. Even if all that happened, the committee would just take CU and the OU/OSU winner over Mich. Those teams would be conference champions, and CU would be 11-2 to our 10-2, with the extra win coming against top-5 Washington.

VT and USC would both need to spring conference-title upsets—but even then, USC probably jumps us in line because they've been so hot lately (and they'd be a conference champion).

The PI call against against Hill and then the no call against Conley was huge but the biggest no call was on Samuels run on the third down play there was a blast hold when Samuels turned back to the opposite sideline.

We're bad calls but every fan base complains. But shit stop running the damn pepcat and throwing interceptions so bad calls don't matter. Another fucking Citrus Bowl against Florida or Florida Stare

That gave Harbaugh an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty said he gave it to him because that would've been a technical foul in basketball.

I'm sorry but you can't score only 17 points at Ohio State and put all of the weight of the game on the defense after turning it over twice.
The defense was fucking exhausted because Michigan's offense can't get a lousy first down and move the chains.

Harbaugh will surely get fined.  but he's right.  if I knew how to do it I'd be tempted to set up like a GoFundMe page to raise money to pay for it.  B1G needs to give all the refs pink slips and hire all new.

We got a totally one sided game. The officials called a different game for OSU than they did for us.

2 penalties for 6 yards in a 2 OT game? We shouldn't even have to say anymore than that

jsquigg

November 26th, 2016 at 5:28 PM ^

Absolutely no fucking consistency.  They call pass interference on our guys for doing less or the same as their guys.  Holding might as well not even be a penalty as Glasgow was constantly being tackled and our ends fought through being grabbed.  While it is true that they didn't capitalize on their opportunities to put them away, those spineless fucking pussies in stripes cost them the game ultimately.

We had to overcome playing in the Shoe with the biggest crowd there ever. We did it. We had to overcome playing with a QB who wasn't 100%. We did it. We had to overcome two interceptions and a fumble. We did it. Do we really have to overcome clearly lopsided officiating, and an end of the game call that was incorrect but decided the game anyway?

RedGreene

Watch the replay. JT was carrying the ball In his right arm, the ball hit his teammate in the ass & his teammates ass was behind the first down line. Complete bullshit.

....who was complaining about the refs 15 years ago before it was cool and called a "crybaby' and "conspiracy freak" this is a really bad move on Harbaugh's part.

Nothing will change, and Michigan can forget about ever getting any makeup calls as long as Harbaugh is coach.

Ty Butterfield

November 26th, 2016 at 5:40 PM ^

Agree with Erik_in_Dayton. It looks bad. Harbaugh is not on the level of Saban and Meyer. As usual, Michigan can't make the plays to close out a game. If Michigan can't beat OSU this year with all the young players they have, then when will it happen? This loss will be bad for recruiting.

Umich97

November 26th, 2016 at 8:00 PM ^

Recruiting will be fine. Any honest person watching that game knows UofM outplayed OSU and was the better team. We just had a few bad breaks and a few calls that didn't go our way while playing at OSU. Sure wish this game or the '06 game had been in A2.

Wow, that was terrible.  The ball was past them before the shoulder was turned.  Both a legal play and an uncatchable pass.  2 reasons why this was not PI.

Kind of the opposite of the early non-PI on...Butt?  There he was held before the ball got there, and the other DB who was covering the other receiver just ran through him while the ball was in the air.  Both guys committed clear PI on this one.
