ND/MSU: Who do you like?

Submitted by MGlobules on

Okay, "like" might be too strong a word. But who do you want to win? I'm kinda hoping they both crap the bed en route to a Sparty squeaker, setting up our game--between two unbeatens--on the national stage.

This is like asking me if there was anything positive to be gained from that 9/11 mattress sale commercial.

Obviouisly, any sort of meteor or Jim Jones, Kool-Aid red solo cup party at midfield situation would be ideal.

But since I guess both of those scenarios are rather unlikely, and death is not an option, I'll go with ND by 10.

Until we play them again. My hatred for Sparty has ratcheted up tenfold over the last few years. I sat in the BH last year after the debacle v MSU and caught too much crap talk afterwards from MSU fans that evening. I hope ND pounds the living shit out of them.

Barring some very unexpected losses, Michigan and OSU both meet as probably 10-1 top 10 teams at worst and it could potentially be as high as 1-2 and 11-0 rolling in. The winner of that game is almost certainly a top 2-4 team. A close loss in the Big Ten title game with the league being a strong league may be enough to sneak them in as a 3 or 4 seed. The stats people at ESPN think there's high odds most leagues have a 1 or 2 loss champion

For a ND win. I'm concerned about their injuries and suspensions biting them in the ass. ND would smoke them for sure without these issues. Screw Sparty always and forever. Tired of Dantonio, tired of their fans, kinda tired how no other fanbase can pick up on their douchey bs. They need a seat back at the little kids table.

We have to pick between a smug and a purple face. Not an easy choice. ND has the better talent but MSU sells their soul for big games. If there is no divine intervention in favor of MSU, ND should win comfortably.

cheer for MSU in anything. I hate ND as well. I'm hoping ND wins. I love seeing Sparty fail. The only thing better would be a nuclear device hitting South Bend at kickoff. To both teams, I fart in their general direction.

I think we need ND to lose 3 more games this season than we do for us to take back the overall winning percentage.

ND has a somewhat easy schedule the rest of the way, so another loss now would take them out of the playoff where as otherwise, they could creep back in.

Having MSU really crap the bed and have a down year would help recruiting wise for us.

Both are rivals, one instate and one more on the level of all time legendary time program rivals.

Tough to say who to root against more.  I am not the type of person to root for injuries or meteors but I guess I would like a really awkward game where both coaches look stupid.

In terms of the game, I think ND will win and likely even cover the spread.  ND has a pretty talented team and they are at home.

Need Sparty to knock ND out of the Playoff picture for good.  Then we'll take care of Sparty on our own in an ass-whoopin' for the ages.  Don't need ND for that.

I'm hoping that MSU beats ND nd thus moves into the top 10, then Wisconsin beats MSU which punches them up near the top 5 and then we beat Wisconsin at home which gives us a marquee win. That will likely matter if we're a 1-loss or maybe even a 2-loss B1G champion

I never root for MSU.

Michigan is ranked high enough already that I don't think we need to worry about the quality of our wins. If we win every game we will be in the playoff, regardless.

I want the Domers to win.  First a loss brings the ticket price down so I won't have to spend as much to taste Sparty tears firsthand.  Also, a Sparty loss likely pushes Michigan-Penn State into the 3:30 timeslot next weekend, which will give me an extra 3.5 hours to eat/drink/be merry before the game.  I won't be cheering for ND to win, but I will be cheering for Sparty to lose.

I want a 3-0 MSU win with each team having 12 turnovers 27 penalties for 234 yards and MSU winning in the 7th overtime by clanking it off an upright and the ball sitting on the crossbar for 23 seconds before falling over ending the worst game in the history of history.

I don't understand these strength of schedule purists...Iowa, Wisconsin and osu is enough (with a championship game) if we take care of business. We are number 4 in the country and haven't played anyone...we are being given the respect and it doesn't matter if msu has 1 or 3 losses.

Could help us in a 3-way tie for B10 East.

Want Okla to beat OSU for same reason.

Screw strength of schedule for national rankings.

Do you think either of their fan bases ever pulled for Michigan?

If we win our games, we won't need help from either of these aliens.
