And Saban publicly said he had no interest in the Alabama job.
Never trust a lying snake.

I know, "But we want to beat them at full strength, blah blah..."
Meyer leaving makes it more likely we'll beat OSU. Therefore, I want Meyer to leave.

He's peaked at OSU. The grind is getting to him. Brilliant coach, but he burns out quickly. Football is too important at OSU for them not to find a top tier coach even if he leaves, so they will always be a challenge, but I'm not more concerned about him than I would be any other top 10 coach which I always expect them to have.
I expect to start winning more than our fair share against them as long as Harbaugh is around. It's insane how Harbaugh never looks tired or disinterested. He really is a jackhammer. That being said, Harbaugh has never been at a joyb for more than 4 years, so one could make the argument that he could get bored eventually, or start looking for another challenge.

The giants will probably try to get saban. The nfl has never had interest in Meyer, can't tell you why but they don't.

report back to school today?

I'm not sure why he's never linked to NFL openings. Is it his system, because in last year's NC game, he ran plenty of Power.

I cannot see Meyer's making it in the NFL.

I've heard rumors that the Saints are trying to shop Sean Payton around for at least a 2nd round pick... The Giants are apparently strongly considering it.

It was addressed last year when the 49ers tried to trade Harbaugh. You can only trade head coaches and high-level front office employees. Their contract won't necessarily be traded with them, but the interested teams can negotiate a contract with the coach and then compensate the original team with draft picks to release the coach.
It isn't a "direct trade," but the NFL will allow it.

I thought Barrett could leave and was going to? Son of a bitch. That would've made it way more easy.

"Eli, we project you as the #1 overall pick. Yes, really! Don't tell anyone, though."
"Ezekiel, we project you as the #1 overall pick. Yes, really! Don't tell anyone, though."
"Braxton...etc, etc.

Would this negatively impact our chances with any of our targets? If not, woohoo!

I mean osu is going to be able to point out like 6 players going in the first 2 rounds as proof of player development since one of the knocks against the spread is often it doesn't prepare you for the nfl but since Meyer is going to be putting people in the nfl (see his florida teams) I guess its better for them to keep leaving with eligibility left rather than coming back.
January 4th, 2016 at 2:51 PM ^
Maybe Fuller. AFAIK Long and Hill aren't considering tOSU.

Not really relevant but did Cardale Jones actually say he was going pro, or is he grad-transferring?
January 4th, 2016 at 2:53 PM ^
Pro.
Who will get drafted higher? Jones or Miller?

He could leave if he wanted to, but I seriously doubt it. OSU will be his team next year. No Miller or Jones to worry about. He should be a preseason Heisman candidate.
January 4th, 2016 at 3:38 PM ^
Maybe if he had a big year he goes, but it seems like a no-brainer for to come back for at least one more season. He lacks ideal size, so he won't get picked high just on potential.

Their draft stock, and it probably won't be any higher next year on a young, inexperienced team.
January 4th, 2016 at 3:02 PM ^
Seriously if you're projected to go in the first three rounds, you have to give the idea of leaving some real consideration. That's a lot of money to turn down to risk coming back and getting hurt.
