Would Michigan even be interested? I know he is highly rated but hasn't he not played very much football over the past 3 years?
October 11th, 2015 at 7:57 PM ^
Saw that he's played somethnig like 10 games in the last 3 seasons. 4 at OLSM. 4 in California. 3 this season?

Has Hayes even done anything in high school yet? Seems like most of his hype is based off of a few camp appearances and very little in the way of actual high school production.

Agreed. This could be totally wrong, of course, but this feels like one of those kids with worlds of potential, but a skeletal structure made of the same kind of glass that wine glasses are made of.

So why does Webb think UM will be the landing spot?
October 11th, 2015 at 8:30 PM ^
He isn't saying that anymore.
October 11th, 2015 at 8:35 PM ^
Ah ok. I read the comment to mean the family pressure to leave the state made Sam think he would go to Michigan which confused me. Didn't know he changed his mind.

October 11th, 2015 at 9:50 PM ^
I'd be willing to bet it's discussed on the next recruiting piece on WtKA about 8:00 and availble on the podcast.
October 11th, 2015 at 8:56 PM ^
There was a time where Sam was saying that one of the Michigan schools would be a likely destintation because there was pressure on him to leave the state initially and that had lessened, but that seems to not be the case anymore.
October 12th, 2015 at 3:19 PM ^
It's the same as insider info. He rarely uses the term anymore but back in the day a Webb "gut feeling" meant you could take it to the bank cause Sam had an inside.

Yes, we have been very fortunate to avoid coaching uncertainty over the years and not have to worry about decommts. /s
October 11th, 2015 at 8:11 PM ^
been very fortunate with recruits in the big scheme of things. give hoke his due, the dude could recruit and recruit well. and unlike 99.9% of coaching changes, harbaugh inherited a boatload of talent (not perfect, but way, way better than most) and is taking it straight to the moon. sure, harbaugh is the difference x 1,000, but harbaugh inheriting a talented team is the reason it's not nuts that we're all vibrating with excitement about playing state and ohio.

Did you forget about the 2015 class? From Damien Harris to George Campbell we had a TON of decommits.
October 11th, 2015 at 8:37 PM ^
I agree with your assessment that we do have a great deal of talent - and Hoke is to be credited for bringing those players in - but during the Rich Rod and Hoke departures we lost a lot of talent (as mentioned above) and who nows who might have been a silent commit or lean during those transitional periods.
And even though Hoke did bring in most of the this team's talent, it's not a stretch to think things would be drastically different under a Hoke fifth year. Look at the punt team alone.
October 11th, 2015 at 8:52 PM ^
but my point is that on the whole the team was well-stocked in many areas. harbaugh did fantastic at stanford, and the reason his time there was even more remarkable was that he took a team that wasn't stocked and turned them around quickly. in our case he is taking talent and basically turning them around mentally and schematically (if that's a word) and he's doing it in the space of months and even weeks.
i am so jazzed about saturday. i've got to coach a couple of kids' football games but they should be done and we should be in the truck on the way home before the game starts.
it is great. to be. a michigan wolverine. and i think its' going to be even better come saturday afternoon.

That guy has sick speed and sick high school tape. Plus, we are building a real track-n-field center!
