NDSU - the Fargo Dome - it's a go!

No way you'll ever get the Fargo Dome delivered to Mayland in time.

It seems the only reason they would be "freaking out" would be because they have to suddenly prepare for 110,000 previously unexpected visitors on Saturday.

Buy a coke, get two free tickets?

Show up to the stadium, get a free ticket.

Survive the hurricane, get two cokes AND a ticket.

A Category 1 hurricane is a glorified rainstorm. I'm not sure Michigan Stadium can hold the entire population of Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware

You're crazy if you think that many people care about maryland football.
Their owns fans are expecting Michigan to take over their stadium.

Don't play. They sent him an email.

The logistics of moving a game two days before an event as large as a Michigan home football game in A2 would be difficult to achieve and might not work at all. Too many things that need to be taken care of in advance, such as security, police, traffic issues, Stadium personnel, etc. People make plans well in advance.
Should the game be cancelled, the bye dates don't work well either. Michigan and MD have byes a week apart...our bye week is 10/24, the Terps are 10/17.

I would imagine full refund to everyone who purchased a ticket too

Split squad like they do in MLB spring training. On 10/17, our first team stays home to beat the Spartans, while our second team travels to Maryland to beat the Terps.

It is being reported in multiple outets that Maryland is open to playing at the Big House. This is not baseless speculation, or rumors from insiders, there is a legitimate chance the game is played in Ann Arbor.
September 30th, 2015 at 4:51 PM ^
During the height of the Baltimore riots, the Orioles played a "home series" in St. Pete. There wasn't any walk up music and the Rays batted first - there were free tickets all around. It's interesting that two Maryland teams could have this happen this year...

The City of Ann Arbor would have to arrange for overtime for a bunch of cops. Pioneer High School would have to move any events scheduled for the day (I checked--they don't have a home football game that night). They have to make sure that there is a hotel that can accommodate the entire Maryland team. They have to arrange for the ushers and other event staff to be available. They would have to arrange a way for people to purchase tickets.
Obviously, there are logistical problems no matter where it gets moved. But move it to Ann Arbor where 100K people will want to see it (or 200K people or 50K people or whatever) and all of the logistical issues are multiplied.

UM has money poring out of every orifice. They could easily pay the OT necessary if needed. That said, the game is probably going to be held at noon.

I wasn't worried about money (there's a lot of money in college football) so much as I was about actual manpower. Are there even enough warm bodies that can be assigned duties at the game? Obviously there are Washtenaw County and State people as well who can be called in, but it still strikes me as a lot of scrambling to be done in just 72 hours.
But yes, I think it will be in Maryland at noon Saturday or 8 pm Friday.

ehhhh unlikely. can you point to a time where this has happened in big ten conference play?

Doesn't everything have a first time?
September 30th, 2015 at 8:17 PM ^
Wait... is he talking about a hurricane or a game being moved? Those damned hurricanes have always been an issue for the midwest.
September 30th, 2015 at 5:10 PM ^
No one had ever effectively sold off hosting a conference home game to a "neutral" site (that was really heavily tilted toward the scheduled road team) until Indiana did it.

but not location -
only one I remember was the Navarre led record comeback at Minnestota. The Twins had a playoff game Saturday, so football was moved to Friday night.
Hardly comparable to switching to the Big House.
I do not recall how much notice there was for that switch.
September 30th, 2015 at 6:51 PM ^
very fond of this comeback. something like 26 points in the fourth. we had about a week notice, i believe. They moved it even though there was the possibilty the twins were not going to make it until friday. Fact checking

I highly, highly doubt they'd move it to the Big House, and if they did I think it'd be a near lock that the 100k streak would be broken unless they gave every ticket away for free.
September 30th, 2015 at 4:11 PM ^
But they always qualify the attendence announcement with the words "consecuative HOME game." This would be considered an "away" game.
September 30th, 2015 at 4:35 PM ^
True, but if they did that after a hypothetically woefully underattended Maryland game, it'd be like saying the Fab 5 didn't play in the final four. By the books true, but in reality...
