This game is going down rain or no rain. I have tix, dammit, and I haven't been to a Michigan game since 1998. Therefore this shit is happening. I demand that it is so.

x 1,000,000.  I have a toddler, this is my first real time out with dude friends and haven't been to a MIchigan game in person for 6 years.  I honestly don't care if it is raining softball sized Hail (see what I did there?). I'd strap on a bike helmet and still go.  I have full faith in Harbaugh to turn back the storm though, so worrying is probably a moot point.

Oh, not threatening, just that I've had this game circled in my calender since I matched here for training years ago. There aren't many benefits to adding Maryland to the Big Ten except for my purely selfish reason of getting to see a couple extra games :) A little breeze and 6-12 inches of sprinkles aren't going to stop me.

the forecast has the eye of the hurricane a few hundred miles south on Saturday afternoon and prediction of "light rain" throughout the day Saturday and Sunday.  What's all the fuss?

I think the Big Ten's concern is less about the actual conditions the game will be played in and is probably getting some back channel info from law enforcement that playing the game with an approaching hurrican is not a swell idea.  Remember the East Coast is still pretty shook up from Hurricane Sandy.  Even if the Hurricane dosn't make landfall they will be dealing with a lot of flooding, many of those areas had rain all this past weekend, even today.

Second,

given the lateness of the announcement would they consider playing the game on Sunday in Ann Arbor?

Virgina's governor has declared a State of Emergency already -- in part because of flood g after last night's rain. If Maryland follows suit, it's hard to justify playing a football game with emergency personnel, police, etc., otherwise occupied.

This sucks. Flying up from Florida with my son for the game. Noon? Ok. Another day? Well I guess it's a $1000 weekend trip to DC to get wet.

Current forecast for College Park, MD on Saturday night is showers, 70% POP, and breezy.  Joaquin will still be well to the South and not in the vicinity until Monday.  Probably not comfortable for the fans in the stadium but hardly worth fiddling with the game time.
