Love the content, Brian. Have yourself an excellent day.

Called the FBI office in Detroit. They aren't investigating the Michigan football team. Very pleasant lady on the phone.

Go Blue.

Interesting. Thanks for the…

Interesting. Thanks for the insight.

You are using absolutes with…

You are using absolutes with a giant lack of evidence to support such a bold claim. Care to endulge me how the hopping system actually encrypts anything? My first responder equipment can activate when any unencrypted channel is accessed on the 800 MHz frequency.

Now that reads like…

Now that reads like journalism. Nice.

That is amazing. Can you…

That is amazing. Can you possibly provide a source? One that isn't anonymous would be great.

I posted this to reddit r/CFB because I really want better feedback from unbiased people. Namely smaller schools that could lack the resources to secure their communications.

Urban Meyer intently…

Urban Meyer intently listening to his cell phone, on the sidelines, while Ohio State is trailing Maryland 10-7, certainly has meme potential:

Well your question is a…

Well your question is a great one. It just seems to me that the process this PI appears to have taken is dipping its toes on some Federal law areas for somebody (the source, the firm, or the person who hired the firm, etc.)

That is a big risk to take over a very mundane college football rule. Personally, I would focus on making my own team better than risking Federal investigations into a sabotage mission against a rival.

Yeah I really just wanted…

Yeah I really just wanted discussion on this topic. I appreciate the ones giving some solid feedback. People sometimes take things way too seriously or negatively.

A bit harsh, do you have a…

A bit harsh, do you have a background in this?

For your second paragraph, I have seen and personally heard about professionals, that should know the law, be quite terrible at their jobs. But statistically you are correct, a PI firm would follow the letter of the law. Just seems that if they did such great work that their leaks wouldn't be anonymous. They should be proud of their work. I'm sure a lot of people would be lining up to use their services.

Your meta commentary is also suggesting you know a lot about the inner workings of U of M. What knowledge do you have about their typical procedures on these types of complaints?

A bit self-deprecating I know. It does set the mood off improperly.

Fair. Still have a hard time…

Fair. Still have a hard time believing a PI is exempt from Federal law for investigating something non-criminal. That basically gives them free reign to steal information from whomever they want.

I enjoyed it. I took a long…

I enjoyed it. I took a long hiatus from the board so I missed a lot. Can't keep up with all of the info here, especially right now lol.

They could show them the…

They could show them the materials, I suppose. But the PI actually being given that material appears to be against the law. And the PI passing those materials to the NCAA would then also be against the law.

Please, we don't need to…

Please, we don't need to brag about our feets of yore here.

Are you sure about that?…

Are you sure about that? Because the investigator also passed that information on to the NCAA without Stalions permission (probably). The NCAA is not a legal overlord that can just permit this type of behavior.

If Stalions did not permit…

If Stalions did not permit the "underling" to do that, that would still appear to be against the law.

"In evidence presented to…

"In evidence presented to the NCAA, the unnamed investigative firm found evidence that it had obtained from computer drives that had been accessible by multiple Michigan coaches."

I swear I had seen things about a private server somewhere also, maybe that was message board banter. Either way, that quote there seems pretty egregious.

Well I did ask for that I…

Well I did ask for that I guess.

My bad, I've been MIA from the board for a while. Was this specific law referenced?

Thank you for your service. Thank you for your service.
Sure does!

Sure does!

That purple devil emoji…

That purple devil emoji....red and blue makes purple. OSU is red. Michigan is winning The Game this year. You're welcome.

County Road 510 between…

County Road 510 between Marquette and Negaunee is stunning right now. There are areas in full peak right now.

I'd suggest running 510 at least to the overlook, could go up to Big Bay and stop at Yellow Dog falls.

Peshekee Grade is getting nice colors too about by Michigamme.

Oh you mean the school that…

Oh you mean the school that killed a kid just trying to video tape practice? And then hired their own investigator? Yeah, shocked.

It's a pipe dream, but…

It's a pipe dream, but Wisconsin and Michigan playing in Marquette at the Superior Dome would be top cheddar.

They might have to get team snowmobiles to make it all the way...

Nah this is getting ghosted…

Nah this is getting ghosted by the hot chic who talked to you for a hour at the bar.

She met Ramon and don't care about you anymore, Kevin.

If lounging in sweatpants…

If lounging in sweatpants and a tie dye shirt, eating a sammich, drinking a Stroh's and clicking a button is qualification enough to bring in top recruits, then just lock us in for that 'ship in 2021 fellas.

Talked to an old timer from…

Talked to an old timer from Laurium. Told me he'd never been below the bridge. I said eh you're not missing much down state anyways.

He said he meant the Houghton-Hancock bridge.

The only way da yoop could…

The only way da yoop could be a state is with westward expansion. Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota would be absorbed. Duluth would be the capital. The great mining state of Superior would be formed.

Thinking St Ignace…

Thinking St Ignace represents the UP...yeah we'd prefer you went to Colorado as well.

Yes and you can also learn…

Yes and you can also learn about young earth creationism from "scientists".

It would devastate the…

It would devastate the education model in the UP.

Also road maintenance would become unbearable.

But all of the Michigan travel brochures would be reduced to Sleeping Bear Dunes and "pick a lake to drink on a sand bar from your pontoon".

Well neither of us seem to…

Well neither of us seem to know for sure if MSU is paying for it but we'll just assume they are.

The beginning of the article does make mention of all the other state departments that are allowed to use this program at no cost.

Oh and the bill does allow for using already scheduled flights (like you suggested), forgot to mention that in your earlier points. They aren't currently allowed I guess. Seems like a no-brainer, good-will notion to pass it. Hopefully it does, I feel the UP is feeling more and more underrepresented lately. Whitmer has pretty much stomped popular UP topics (deer baiting, wolf hunt, gas pipeline, Pure Michigan to name a few). We don't need to get into those, I just want you to know there is a lot of anti-Lansing angst brewing again.

Also a shoutout to the…

Also a shoutout to the Porcupine mountains.

That's it. Just wanted to mention those. Probably buried under 5 feet of snow right now.

Comparing other states is…

Comparing other states is irrelevant. I don't know or care about their government operations. I am talking about MDOT resources.

And those resources are being used largely by ONE athletic department over five legislators.

Also Marquette has the first…

Also Marquette has the first highway painted center lane, thanks to the breakneck speeds (literally) people used to enjoy around the UP twists and turns.

There are jobs and housing!

There are jobs and housing!

When we moved from AA, our mortgage, including escrow, was cheaper than a 1 bedroom basement apartment in AA.

Jacobetti is a UP hero for a…

Jacobetti is a UP hero for a reason.

And we still talk about the feasibility of separation. The State of Michigan is among the most pathetic members of the union when it comes to revenue sharing. The municipalities would most likely survive, but the schools and universities would take a massive blow.

"Terminals".

Iron Mountain…

"Terminals".

Iron Mountain has you walk out on the tarmac. And yes I do the Nixon every time.

Hey I've been on board with…

Hey I've been on board with your idea.

But these politicians rely on shmoozing each other to pitch their causes.

"Let's go get a drink and talk business" works far more often than "stare at this screen while I give you my Skype presentation."

"That's what they signed up…

"That's what they signed up for" is a terrible reason to not provide better transportation, especially when it's been made available to an irrelevant cause like MSU athletics. It's also the typical response the UP seems to get, so it's not likely to satisfy the constituents.

Also, there is one flight in and out of every airport. Have you flown out of the UP? It is typically an easy, low demand flight. But unless you book months in advance, a reasonably priced or even available flight is far from a guarantee.

But your lack of empathy is not surprising. That's why this is an issue anyways. Most knuckleheaded downstaters will easily brush off MSU athletics being given better treatment than democratically elected officials of OUR state. But because there are "only 5" north of the bridge, it might as well be a different state.

Instead of driving 5-10…

Instead of driving 5-10 hours, our legislators would like better travel conditions. They're having to fight for the ability to save time and effort so they can be effective members of a government that tends to cast them aside.

The article clearly included the MSU athletics section to show what the State has decided is the "most appropriate" use of taxpayer funded transportation.

So, yes I'm yelling at a cloud, but that cloud spells out, "MSU's athletic department is more important than the people of the UP."

Should I not be angry? Why does MSU sports take precedence over, you know, actual government?

Hope the Patriots get him.

Hope the Patriots get him.

On one hand Eubanks is…

On one hand Eubanks is getting PAID in that case.

But then LOINS.

I wonder if NE has their eyes on any of our pass catchers. Imagine Brady with Nico or DPJ.

Y'all acting like this dude…

Y'all acting like this dude would be inconvenienced by a short trip on his private jet or helicopter or spaceship to come to Detroit on Sundays.

Why tf would he have to do anything in Detroit himself? It would be an investment and moving them anywhere isn't necessarily a surefire way to make more money. He could make better decisions than Martha while he's droppin a deuce at 41,000 feet.

What do people expect, I'm…

What do people expect, I'm just so fucking phenomenal. I could probably engineer a cooler that turns OSU fecal matter into Freon.

Personally I feel like a…

Personally I feel like a future helmet will need to have a structurally sound base (like this proposal) but coupled with a replaceable outer shell that is designed to crumple under extreme stress (like a car).

After too much damage the outer shell would be swapped.

I have nothing to back up my science other than firefighting experience at accident scenes. Modern crumple zones are amazing and reduce/eliminate a lot of trauma.
