Chris Simms calls Harbaugh a Jerk in Interview [Today's HARBAUGH thread]

Submitted by TyWheatley6 on January 22nd, 2022 at 5:40 AM

In an interview on the Dan Patrick show, Chris Simms called Harbaugh a jerk and accused him of making up the NFL offers to hype himself up...and if it wasn't enough, he also claims he could take Harbaugh in a fight.  “He’s a scary SOB, and he’s weird, and he’s tough, there’s no doubt. But he’s not taking me now at my age.”    So...I guess some people never grow up.

Typical blow hard talking head mentality that can be seen from most of these on TV types. Skip and Steven A invented these characters that scream the most ridiculous hawt takes in order to gain clout and attention. Worked well financially for them but now too many TV clowns follow that same formula and unfortunately this type of nonsensical rhetoric is a byproduct of their overzealous and envious monetary pursuit.

I heard this interview the other day. You're absolutely right, Phil, sports talk shows have become unbearable over the past 10 years or so. Ironically, Dan Patrick is the only one I still listen to with any regularity because he seems to avoid that crap. Buy sometimes his guests do not.

Ya'll are getting awfully butt hurt from what a guy living off his dad's name has to say.

Also it's a Dan Patrick shtick to ask who would win in a fight. Lighten up folks.

Well by all reports he hasn't been offered anything. Why I don't believe Jim made up the interest, I do think him saying "this years rumors are more fun" makes me believe he in some way set this motion either force UMs hand at a reworked deal or to leverage them into laxing some of the standards that keep Michigan at a disadvantage.

This is a weird and inaccurate straw man argument regarding JJ.  I would expect nothing less from you.

JJ is a true freshman who was consistently excellent in his appearances in a championship season.  He was so good as a freshman, in fact, that he played the majority of our 2nd half minutes in the most momentous Michigan football game in this millennium.

Piling on Chris Simms is fair game, but trying to link JJ to Chris? That’s just your typical weak and illogical troll job. Do better next time.

Actually, I think Jim would find a way to win such a fight rather decisively, for he is weird, but in a way that produces "I never would have thought to do that..." moments.

I saw this and didn’t think it was threadworthy. (Did you hear that to those who think I start too many threads?)

Some people have Harbaugh rub them the wrong way. There’s also countless stories from others about selfless things he has done that far outweigh the negative comments toward him.

Chris is lying. He claims that his coaches in SF did not know he had left SF and was taking the UM job.  They heard about it when Jim called them on the phone and said I’m here in Mich you go figure out your career

There was a public announcement about Jim leaving SF early February.  It was almost a month later when Jim was announced as UM’s coach. Some of his coaches had already accepted other Jobs.

My only real memory of Phil Simms is when he played the Bears in the playoffs in January of 86.  I was just a kid but I remember that he made the mistake of mouthing off to Richard Dent early in the game.  I remember that Dent either sacked him or hit him (almost always late) for the rest of the game.  Bears 20 - Giants 0 and a very tough day for Phil.

Chris Simms was THE poster boy for overhyped college QB for a while, repeatedly failing to succeed at Texas before losing his job to a less heralded recruit (Major Apple white) who actually won big games for Texas and set a bunch of records.  So I can't help but sniff a bit of jealousy from a guy who was given every opportunity to succeed and couldn't.  Hell, a reason he's even in the media is because his dad made the transition and so he had an in

If I recall, about 10 years ago Desmond said on Game Day (or something) that Chris was garbage and UT couldn't win with him at QB. Phil then went on a radio show (or something) and said he was going to find Des and kick his ass. #SimmsSnowflakes
