I don't think it is that big of a loss, personally I thought he has regressed , kind of like a freshman female gaining those 15.We have enough lighter backs, we need some bigger in between the tackle kind of backs, which was very lacking against Florida.

He was likely going to be tragically misused yet again anyways.  Hope he figures out whatever it is that was the issue.

My guess is it'll be Charbonnet and Turner with the bulk of the carries by years end while Tru will end up about the same usage as this year.

I know nothing about this, but I do know that Chris Evans has dedicated an exorbitant amount of his free time to helping underprivileged kids as a football coach.    I also know that he made a cameo at my son’s birthday party out of the kindness of his heart. (He even demonstrated the integrity and intellect to ask if I was a booster, which I am not).    I have also seen his prodigious talent and fantastic team first attitude through three seasons of Michigan football.  Whatever comes of this, those facts do not change. I wish Chris Evans nothing but the best. I have great admiration for him!

I sit right beside Chris in one of my morning classes. He hasn't been to the latest few if that's any indication.

Regarding a comment above, he does spend much of his time in class organizing his football camp for kids.

Not sure if it's true but my son frequently sat next to him in a class and I'll say he wasn't exactly applying himself. There were some things I don't want to post here.

As much as I wanted him on the team and appreciated his work with kids, I'm not surprised to hear this and happy that players are expected to comply.

I'm in a class with him too, and while he didn't seen focused in class, instead organizing his camp etc... he just seemed like the procrastinating type which is very common.

I remember him asking someone beside him for her contact info on the first day of class so that he could keep up with the course work of either of them needed help, so it didn't seem like there were plans to get out of school or anything.

I have close ties with kids that also have classes with football players at U of M. I’ll just say their in class behavior (these kids are trustworthy and honest as I’ve ever met) is equal to a 5th grader. Talk while the professor is talking, play on their phones, never pay attention or write anything down. One such player got the final exam from the professor, sat and stared at it for just over an hour, then turned it in completely blank. Don’t believe me if you want, but I’ve heard the same type of thing regarding other players.

I teach high school science for Ann Arbor Public Schools and you describe about 95% of my students. Just had a student take an answer key off my desk when I was going around my classroom helping students, take my answer key, scratch off the words "answer key" from the top, and put his name on it. Having students turn in empty quizzes/tests is a regular occurrence.

That said I was a chemistry GSI when Tate Forcier was taking chem 130. one of my fellow GSI's proctoring with me caught him cheating on one of his midterms. I knew he was getting booted from the university before it came out about a week later. Dude was dumber than a rock.

This type of behavior is not exclusive to football players. If the kids you know noticed all of this maybe they weren't as focused as they wanted to players to be either. Lastly I sat for an hour starring at a midterm and walked out not answering a single question. Things happen,

Like 80%, or more, of these rumors have turned to be true it the past few years.

Michigan is supposed to be turning up the passing game this upcoming season (right?) so maybe that will compensate some for losing him--if he is lost.

This is a blow if true.  Both the player and the team will suffer.  He’s the presumed lead back coming back for a senior season.  Got to say I’m super surprised seemed like the kid was pretty squared away.

He would’ve been the lead third down back, but he is not an every down back. Wilson, Turner or Charbonnet were going to seize that role for themselves no matter what.

Not saying I wouldn’t want Evans back or that this isn’t a blow to the team. It is. But losing Evans is, in my mind, an easier blow to absorb than losing the above mentioned.
