More Good News Coming per Hinton/Jackson
After Solomon committed, I noticed that Chris Hinton and Giles Jackson tweeted that we aren’t done in this class. Would obviously take that to mean that there is at least another guy on the hook...Hinton and Jackson have been two of our most actively outspoken commits on Twitter.
Could it be as simple as Cornelius Johnson(which is exciting in its own right)?

More meaning 5 stars??
December 17th, 2018 at 7:23 AM ^
As much as we would all love to have Harrison and/or Hill, I think the glaring need in this class is outside receiver so getting C Johnson would be huge. If he was the only other commit we got, I’d still be happy with this class.
December 17th, 2018 at 7:44 AM ^
Agreed. Unfortunately you can’t expect to get guys like Dax Hill and Zach Harrison after you get smoked by OSU. Nature of the beast.
December 17th, 2018 at 8:14 AM ^
Thanks for reminding us buddy.
December 17th, 2018 at 8:15 AM ^
OSU seems to be able to get those after being smoked by Purdue or Iowa
December 17th, 2018 at 8:56 AM ^
Probably has something to do with the big ten championships and national title they can use to balance it out
December 17th, 2018 at 9:09 AM ^
! How that post got 16 up votes is amazing
December 17th, 2018 at 9:33 AM ^
Yeah, they trade blows with those schools now and then. But they continually kick us in the nuts for nearly 20 years and all we do is say, "hey at least we have academics going for us." Recruits see that. Recruits have now grown up in an era where Michigan beating Ohio State has happened less frequently than the American military invading foreign countries. It's hard to believe the hype when the proof is in the pudding.
December 17th, 2018 at 9:44 AM ^
Recency bias. They had their bad loss 2 months ago. Michigan's worse loss in 10 years happened as their last game of the season.
December 17th, 2018 at 8:18 AM ^
A couple years ago, Ohio State lost to Clemson 31-0... and immediately pulled in the #2 class in the country that included five composite 5* kids. So, yeah.
December 17th, 2018 at 8:36 AM ^
The context, however, is that they were in the playoffs at the time.
December 17th, 2018 at 10:05 AM ^
Also it's clear that Meyer and Saban are in a class of their own when it comes to recruiting, so sustaining a loss like that isn't as crippling to those 2.
December 17th, 2018 at 8:37 AM ^
That loss was in the CFP, two years after winning it all. You can afford blowout losses in the playoffs when you still have a recent national championship.
December 17th, 2018 at 10:22 AM ^
Dang I thought we won that game.
December 17th, 2018 at 11:05 AM ^
Wait......we didn't play OSU yet this year, did we?
December 17th, 2018 at 8:41 AM ^
It would be very nice to get Harrison...though Morris, Ojabo, Hinton, Smith and Newburg do not require him to be an outstanding DL...am hoping Harrison-Hunt remains an option if Harrison does not come. To me, Hill is the bell-cow...not really replaceable...am hoping Sanguinetti remains an option-if no Hill. But yes, otherwise, Cornelius finishes off the class as far as positional needs. This is already a terrific class.
December 17th, 2018 at 11:48 AM ^
And Michigan hasn't sustained this level of recruiting in quite some time. Yeah, Hoke was a great recruiter, but I don't remember his classes having standout 4* guys at the skill positions. I remember him bringing in great pieces to the lines (OL and DL), however most of the OL guys not "panning out" the way we initially expected. I agree with you that this class is definitely one to be proud of.

Cornelius is an underrated name.

He's 6'3 and ran a 4.1 shuttle at the Opening Finals? Do want.
December 17th, 2018 at 9:04 AM ^
I watched his tape for the first time this morning and holy cats that dude can straight up fly. He's also a dynamic catcher of the ball, with acrobatics and solid hands. I would be insanely excited to see him go Blue.
December 17th, 2018 at 9:23 AM ^
Yeah he's going to be a star WR. Really good, and much better than his ranking.
December 17th, 2018 at 7:52 AM ^
With Keegan and Solomon in and DeLoach seemingly out, who is left that’s realistic at this point? Harrison is probably coin flip or worse. Hill is gone barring something bizarre. Crouch is extremely unlikely. Seems like it must be Johnson unless some of the late offers are developing. Ike seems like a no with Keegan in. Seems like the other guys might be late-commitable offers based on how attrition/scholarships look?
December 17th, 2018 at 9:25 AM ^
The longer "something" is going on with the Hill situation at Alabama, the more that I am beginning to believe that there actually could be a chance he flips back. I am not one of the people who freaks out over recruiting, there will be other guys and we will get some of them, that is how I look at it. It just seems like there are still moving parts going on with his recruitment and the recent Battle news. I don't think it is likely, but my spidey senses now put it at about a 15% chance.
December 17th, 2018 at 7:59 AM ^
I'm assuming this is related to Johnson. The Hill thing stings and losing Harrison will hurt but getting Keegan, Johnson and Solomon down the stretch is pretty solid. This class could end up with 15 or so composite 4 stars without Hill or Harrison. It is really hard to complain about that at the end of the day.
December 17th, 2018 at 9:01 AM ^
It is hard to complain about that but where there is a Diagonal Blue there is a way.
December 17th, 2018 at 9:26 AM ^
Very similar class to our 2016 class according to the stats and much better than 2018. The 2017 class was a monster with 21 composite 4 stars or better.. 57 composite 4 stars or better assuming we get one more in this class over last 4 seasons. 3rd time in the last 4 seasons we have landed 14 or more composite 4 stars.
I have OSU with around 72 give or take and a good number more 5 stars for those that want to complain.
Alabama with 69 composite 4 stars or better
Clemson with 45 but a lot more 5 star talent.
December 17th, 2018 at 9:30 AM ^
The OL and DL verbals alone make this more than simply a "pretty solid" class. And there are dynamic skill players who bring heretofore missing dimensions to this roster. The potential of the 3*** in this class is high and real. I do not know why so many are so "meh" about this class.
Michigan is ascending...is not Alabama, Clemson or OSU...or even Georgia. But this in-coming class will inch Michigan toward a return to "elite".

Harbaugh - the only coach in the country that can’t turn 10 win seasons into 5* kids
The only 5* he guy got was when he hired his high school coach (who is a amazing coach btw)
but still, Bama, OSU, LSU, etc commits litter the top 10-20 yearly and the best Harbaugh can do is like the 50th best player. The guy is satisfied being the best of the worst, or the worst of the best, depending on how you look at it.
Wake me up when Harbaugh actually does something in recruiting so he can do something during the season.
The OSU embarrassments and the bowl beat downs are piling up on him and the best kids don’t want to come get embarrassed on the national stage for 4 years.
December 17th, 2018 at 8:35 AM ^
Did Harbaugh tell you he is satisfied that he is not getting 5 stars? Michigan needs to win a couple of big games with 4 stars before getting more 5 stars unless they are lucky. By the way, didn't he get DPJ?
December 17th, 2018 at 8:40 AM ^
And Aubrey Solomon, no? Selective memory I guess...
December 17th, 2018 at 8:41 AM ^
DPJ was a local kid, just like the 5 star OL from Belleville who's signing with MSU. People forget about location, location, location. Alabama would not be Alabama without the 5 star talent pipeline down south. I am sure we would have more 5 star guys if we had that kind of talent in the high schools in the Midwest.
Harbaugh gets all kind of credit for keeping DPJ at home, but he's fighting a tough geographical battle.

Careful with that comment as we generally been shut out of ohio the last 10ish years and not doing well in pennsylvania either especially given their scandal and down years.
