you joke but I think MSU will get fuckin steamrolled in that game and then play lights out against us.
September 30th, 2018 at 11:20 PM ^
His anus will be prepared.
September 30th, 2018 at 11:48 PM ^
Fun fact: MSU was originally scheduled to have their bye week set for WEEK ONE. Yes, seriously. I'm just as disappointed as you are that someone in EL took a break from their pile of lawsuits to fix that gaffe
September 30th, 2018 at 9:47 PM ^
Dang another opponent coming off a bye week? Who knows what crazy schemes their coach will come up with. With a name like Canada, we can expect multiple receivers moving forward at the snap and a few attempts at a Rouge.
September 30th, 2018 at 9:49 PM ^
Refs need to be watching for 12 men on the field.
September 30th, 2018 at 10:34 PM ^
Not to mention that sneaky holding technique in which you appear to be tackled.
September 30th, 2018 at 10:33 PM ^
I expect him to run North-and-North
September 30th, 2018 at 9:48 PM ^
Tooooo many
September 30th, 2018 at 9:49 PM ^
They have culture issues, uncertain HC status. Two TD margin seems fair.
Our home field advantage will help keep the refs honest.
September 30th, 2018 at 10:22 PM ^
That's what Texas was thinking. And before somebody goes off about how horrible Texas is, people ought to keep in mind that Texas already has wins over two ranked opponents this season.
October 1st, 2018 at 9:46 AM ^
Texas seemed to turn the lights on mid-way through the USC game. They are a very talented team, but they played like crap before half of that game - losing to MD and eeking one out against Tulsa.
October 1st, 2018 at 9:56 AM ^
OTOH, the Temple team that beat Maryland by 3 TDs lost to Villanova and is 2-3.
September 30th, 2018 at 10:52 PM ^
The refs don't care whose field they screw Michigan on. I submit the SMU game as evidence.
October 1st, 2018 at 9:42 AM ^
The officiating in the Nebraska game wasn't exactly stellar.
September 30th, 2018 at 9:50 PM ^
This could be another nail biter. I am pessimistically optimistic.
September 30th, 2018 at 9:50 PM ^
Maryland seems like they have a lot of potential. We better not get off to as crappy of a start as we did against Northwestern.
September 30th, 2018 at 9:55 PM ^
At home, I think is a comfortable win. I'd be sweating a bit if we were on the road though. -17.5 seems fair.
September 30th, 2018 at 9:57 PM ^
And what's the line for Michigan vs. Referees? More phantom calls from Mars, Uranus?
September 30th, 2018 at 10:53 PM ^
Mostly Ur-anus.
September 30th, 2018 at 10:03 PM ^
After a shaking SMU win Michigan destroyed Bevrasja. After the shaky Northwestern victory Maryland is next
September 30th, 2018 at 10:35 PM ^
Bevrasja? Did you have a mild stroke while typing this?
September 30th, 2018 at 11:27 PM ^
Oven mitts, must be a hand model
October 1st, 2018 at 10:47 AM ^
Bevrasja
Now that is an auto-correct for the ages.
September 30th, 2018 at 10:06 PM ^
The goal for this game is getting reps for backups. They need to get a big lead early and get some rest for guys like Patterson, Higdon, DPJ, and Gary among others. It would be get to some carries for Tru Wilson and some reps for McCaffrey.
Do not let Maryland get a lead or hang around. Get up early and take the life out of them.
October 1st, 2018 at 5:47 PM ^
The goal for this game is the same for all the other games:win.
September 30th, 2018 at 10:11 PM ^
Michigan 31-17
September 30th, 2018 at 10:16 PM ^
Seems a bit optimistic.
September 30th, 2018 at 10:23 PM ^
this game is always bizarre to me, we give up a ton of yards to maryland every year, but they end up only putting up like 3 to 14 pts the last couple of years, i dont even recall how much they scored last year.
I know they just had a lot of yards and not much to show for it.
Our defense should crush them at home.
September 30th, 2018 at 10:31 PM ^
Last year's score was 35-10
Most likely garbage time points too. They scored a field goal in the 3rd and a touchdown in the 4th.
September 30th, 2018 at 10:43 PM ^
It was 28-0 at halftime, after Michigan utterly dominated the first half.
Maryland moved the ball in the second half, but their 4th-string QB forced into action threw a gimme redzone INT to David Long.
October 1st, 2018 at 9:51 AM ^
so Maryland outplayed Michigan in the 2nd half last year?
10-7...
joking...
September 30th, 2018 at 11:16 PM ^
D needs to rest a bit for the upcoming slate, expect more from the offense as they rep some different looks. Deep Bombs coming your way!! Would be nice to see McCaffrey get some reps in garbage time. Would be nice to see Perry to have a day too!
41-19
bad refs: 32-23
(Edit: is it Friday yet???)
September 30th, 2018 at 10:23 PM ^
Take the points!
September 30th, 2018 at 10:27 PM ^
Said it last week that Maryland is spooky. But this team is night and day at home. Would be more worried if it was a road game.
September 30th, 2018 at 10:38 PM ^
I can guarantee one thing, we are going to get their best shot...
Thats how it always is, or at least it feels like it
September 30th, 2018 at 10:56 PM ^
Maryland is hard to figure out. They got crushed by Temple but they have the Big Ten's best non-conference win over Texas.
They're handling the turmoil of their program's off season pretty well so far. And they're coming off a bye week because this year is get a bye week before playing Michigan for Big Ten squads, apparently.
I watched about half of their game against Texas and I remember them getting off some deep passes. I have to assume they'll try to air it out a lot because Michigan racks up a ton of yards in penalties and if the pattern of GOD awful officiating continues, that will work to their benefit.
September 30th, 2018 at 11:03 PM ^
They would likely be ranked if they didn't lose to Temple, no? Even though Temple lost to 4-1 Buffalo. That same Buffalo who killed Rutgers.
Something is way off here. Must be the reputation of every team listed above. I can't tell if Maryland had no business losing to Temple, or if they had no business beating Texas. So confusing.
October 1st, 2018 at 12:37 AM ^
Keep in mind that Texas was on the verge of a comeback against Maryland before a long weather delay. Also, Maryland had a bunch of passing yards in that game but has been totally unable to repeat that. Texas also beat Tulsa by a single touchdown in Week 2. It seems that UT has taken huge strides since Week 1 and that Maryland caught them when they were still mediocre.
October 1st, 2018 at 9:53 AM ^
Buffalo got their butts beat by Army
Maybe Army is good, though. They took Oklahoma to the wire...
September 30th, 2018 at 11:24 PM ^
It’s Piggy Week!
September 30th, 2018 at 11:41 PM ^
So we win by 6. Great.
September 30th, 2018 at 11:57 PM ^
You got the edit in before I could be snarky. Dammit.
October 1st, 2018 at 7:49 AM ^
I think that further proof that Delany doesn't like is that we have this uncanny knack to run into teams coming off their bye week. Thanks, Jim.
October 1st, 2018 at 7:56 AM ^
I’ve been testing my own ranking system this year and I have Michigan as 19 point home favorites. That being said, Maryland’s rankings are skewed by having one lead game and likely an outlier performance against temple. Even so, we are likely double digit favorites by the numbers.
October 1st, 2018 at 8:45 AM ^
Noon kick. Ugh. I hate noon games.
October 1st, 2018 at 9:53 AM ^
Move to the west coast. 9AM games are great.
October 1st, 2018 at 9:43 AM ^
In my 50 or so years of watching CFB, one thing I've noticed is that when a top 20 team has a down day (NW game), they typically come back with a vengeance...especially returning home. I bet we win this game by 24 or more, even with 2nd stringers playing much of Q4.
October 1st, 2018 at 9:57 AM ^
Prediction: Michigan 38, Maryland 13.
October 1st, 2018 at 9:59 AM ^
It's at home. They're going to win by more than 17. Maryland defense not great against the pass. Shea Patterson may get near 300 yards. Would be nice to see that much passing......
