There seems to be a press conference forming at OSU
Urban Meyer's wife Shelley arrived, and there are a few mentions that the alumni house is gearing up for a press conference today.
Also, I learned that Clark Kellogg is a trustee.

Clark comes off much smarter than Perless ever did. Plus I think he was a high level exec for the Pacers for years as well. He may be qualified for this position.

Most board members are rich elitists. I think college boards would be better if they had a decent amount of “regular” people ie teachers, social workers, small business owners etc that are alumni instead of mostly CEOs and lawyers.

This may just my cynicism toward OSU doing anything other than what is good for football, but I think you second idea may be true. There is probably going to be a photo op with the loving couple to send out to the associated press. They will discuss how they are trying to help better the lives of those who are struggling. It will close with something like, "...if they are guilty of anything, it is of caring too much."

I think Urban is going to resign or get fired, and Shelly came to pick him up. He obviously can't take an Uber, and he probably came there in a car owned by OSU that they are deciding to repo.

You might be right about her picking him up. This is going to sound stupid, but in the video, she is definitely not wearing a conservative outfit. If she were going in front of the media about a domestic violence case that also involved sex toys, I would assume she'd wear something a businesswoman might wear... not something she looks like she might go out in on a Saturday night with the ladies.

resignation or some small suspension...... she wouldn't be there if they were firing him or handing down a big suspension.
i'm betting he wouldn't agree to any suspension at all, as it would be an admission of guilt. maybe he agreed to resign as long as their statement says he was found guilty of no wrong doing.
i guess we'll know pretty soon.

I heard he was getting suspended for half the season. As Head Breakfast Coach. As football coach he's already been reinstated, with Shelley to fulfill the duties of Head Breakfast Coach in his absence. Tough but fair.

Nothing is going to happen today. BoT is just deliberating. Shelley being there is like when someone on trial brings his family to make him seem like an upstanding citizen to the jury. Although in this case, not sure Shelley being there helps...

according to Dave Biddle, the publisher of bucknuts, the BOT wants to reinstate Meyer immediately, but the president, Michael Drake, thinks Meyer has to serve some suspension. Meyer is resisting serving any suspension.

Yeah I saw that, and Drake is not making the decision - contrary to what has been said. So this makes it seem like they are doing some PR coaching for everyone who will be interviewed by the press.

that's not how leaks work. leaks have a purpose. the leaker here is obviously someone on or close to the BOT. the purpose of the leak is to put pressure on Drake by showing that he's outnumbered and being "stubborn."

He didn't do anything illegal if he really did report it (and of course Smith is going to say it was reported).
The question here has always been about the morality of enabling a repeated domestic abuser. There's a grey area about what is right and "wrong" about that. Someone with higher morals, i.e. Drake may be pushing for a suspension to send a message that the "wrongness" of his inaction doesn't deserve termination but does deserve some punishment.
The board may be hiding behind "well, he didn't do anything illegal so he's fine."

If he needs to check the pulse of the fan base, he needs to find another school to work for. This one doesn't care about his independent thoughts about doing the right thing and making that case for the outside world.
When all is said and done, the president needs to be on the right side of morality and doing things the right way regardless of what his constituency claims is more important. If he loses a battle over this, he needs to find another job. And that won't bother Buckeye fans in the least.
If he fails to win the SCUM battle, it was only because he was on the wrong side of the Urban legend.
