I live about 30 northwest of Mason, but am often at Kings Island in Mason with my Kids.

I thought they were saying "We are Ped State," but it was hard to tell with my big smile partially blocking my ears from hearing the TV.

If you are on this blog and have not listened to podcasts before, I would recommend the mgo podcast.  Brian and co. do a good job recapping the games and previewing opponents.

If you are into comedy podcasts, check out Spontanianation.  It is a podcast where Paul F. Tompkins interviews guests and then they improvise a story together.  I would also recommend the Thrilling Adventure Hour podcast.  They are well written stories performed live in the style of old timey radio.  It may sound a little strange but it is very entertaining.

I love the Finding Nemo swimmies joke.  As a parent of little ones, I have learned that Puddle Jumpers are the way to go.  It would figure Rutgers has not learned that.

The one where Ruiz had someone on his legs and the MSU player was trying to bend him in half really rankeled.

10/20/2018 - 5:52pm I sincerely hope with this…

I sincerely hope with this loss MSU reexamine their win at all costs mentality.  Maybe Michigan's victory can be one step closer to a deeper sense of closure and healing for their all too numerous victims who have been silenced and disrespect.  I hope D'antonio can soften his heart and start to feel for those his team has hurt.  I can only hope.

Also,  woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I am sure Harbaugh may use one of his great quotes about this in the presser.  My guess is he goes with, "A hungry dog hunts best."

Near the end of the half I really wanted Michigan to put in Milton and see how far he could bomb it down the field.

10/04/2018 - 9:01am Most of the time, I think…

Most of the time, I think the reporter questions at these pressers are a load of bunk, but I loved that last question.  Often when I watch Michigan's defense play I am shocked and slightly appalled when the opposing offense scores a touchdown, sometimes even when a 20 yard pass is completed.  That is how good I think our defense has become.  I love this defense, and Don Brown.  When I watch his pressers I want to get off the couch and tackle somebody.

I specifically drafted Jake Butt with my ladt pick in the draft so my team name could be IlikeJakeButt&Icantli.  One of my favorite Michigan players.  Hope he can recover and get back to full strenght next year

09/23/2018 - 1:02pm I teach 5th grade, and so I…

I teach 5th grade, and so I am used to trying to decipher answers.  My guess is that Harbaugh was referring to Newtons First Law of Motion.  "An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force".  This law is also sometimes known as the Law of Inertia.  My interpretation is that Harbaugh feels that when Ben Mason is an object in motion, then Ben Mason stays in motion.

With that in mind, I would like to see a shirt with a silhouette (similar of the Charles Woodson shirt) of Ben Mason running and the phrase "First Law" or some variant is this.

I hope he commits here.  He would be a great get.  Or...Nick Saban, a former Michigan State coach who has learned to never let go of a grudge, tells his players to include Michigan in their top 2 or 3 as a troll job.  This has happened before.  I hope I am wrong.

09/15/2018 - 9:19pm SMU has a bad passing…

SMU has a bad passing defense.  Michigan has an accurate former 5* quarterback.  The SMU linebackers 9 out of 10 times run straight to the line of scrimmage leaving the middle of the field open, and are very susceptible to play action.  Michigan had their first string running back out of the game.  SMU had 8 in the box.  Michigan went to their jumbo package and pretty much ran it the entire first quarter.  This did not work.  I am not sure why they thought it would work.  I am starting to think that Michigan's offensive game plan was made by this guy.

The rational side of my brain says that Sparty had a hard time with the late night game time and the heat.  The football side of the brain says that their practice time this week was divided.  5% Arizona State preparation, 95% preparation for Michigan

The joke from opposing fanbases was, "You can't spell Lloyd without 2 Ls."  I miss being upset about loosing twice in a year.

09/03/2018 - 4:13pm I have a brother who is a…

I have a brother who is a Michigan State fan, co workers who are Ohio State fans, and know other people who are fans of teams in the SEC.  They all enjoy watching Michigan loose.  I have almost nothing left to say to them.  Their new favorite comment is about if I think Harbaugh is on the hot seat.  I don't because who else could they get that would be better.  I appreciated Brian's article because that has been my attitude for a while.  I watch games waiting for the inevatable oncoming dred.   In Sunday School, we ran accross Psalm 94:3, "How long, oh Lord, will you allow the wicked to gloat."  I felt that was a question about my fandom.

Still, despite all of this I have hope that things will get better.  Michigan didn't score much but it seemed the offense is better then last year.  I am holding out hope they can right the ship, grow, and end the year 11-1. Realisticly, I could also see them going 7-5. I would just like them to beat MSU and OSU.  In the meantime my only responce to the naysayers is to wonder if it would be worth it to Michigan for them to lie, cheat, cover up injustices, pay players, and lack accountability in the name of winning.

Or it could be because Brian has a toddler.  As someone who has gone through that 4 times, it does tend to overwhelm your day.

08/22/2018 - 4:15pm This may just my cynicism…

This may just my cynicism toward OSU doing anything other than what is good for football, but I think you second idea may be true.  There is probably going to be a photo op with the loving couple to send out to the associated press.  They will discuss how they are trying to help better the lives of those who are struggling.  It will close with something like, "...if they are guilty of anything, it is of caring too much."

08/04/2018 - 10:04pm There is no way OSU would do…

There is no way OSU would do anything to jeopardize their chance of beating Michigan.  I honestly believe that they will wait for a period of time to guage the fervor once the news cycle has moved on.

I also believe, if he gets suspended, how long will be determined by how good TCU is percieved to be.  TCU is their third game.  If they are going to be good and might provide a challenge, he will be back then.  If not, OSU will pat themselves on their back, discuss how tough they are on discipline, and suspend him for 4 games.  He will make a triumphant return to great anticipation and fanfair for their 5th game, and possibly their only tough opponent up until that point, when they play Penn State.

I was a big fan of the "Thrilling Adventure Hour" Podcast.  One of the guys, Ben Acker I think, has a podcast called "The Writers Panel" where they interview writers for different shows, books and movies.  I have listened to only a few but on a few of them they discussed what you were talking about, with getting a start, and advice for people who are new to this.  Might be worth a listen.

07/24/2018 - 1:08pm Living in Ohio, OSU fans are…

Living in Ohio, OSU fans are by far the worst part of being a Michigan fan.  There are people down here who are wondering how long the Michigan fan base will want him to continue coaching.  I tell them how close his losses have been and wonder who Michigan could get that would be better.  Then we argue about the poor spot of the ball.

07/14/2018 - 8:00am I also am not sure how many…

I also am not sure how many sacks Gary will end up with playing on Michigan's D line.  There are so many other good players.  I wish there was a stat kept that was something like, "Forced an opposing QB to run screaming in the other direction into a team mates sack, still got there a half second later to help, but did not get credit for a sack."  Gary would have gotten credit for a lot of those last year, and I am sure a lot this year.

I have taken to watching the games in my basement away from my kids.  If the game is stressful enough, which is many of them recently, I get on the treadmill during them game.  I figure if my heart rate is going to be up anyway, I might as well get some benefit from it.

04/28/2018 - 2:31pm Yes. This

After the second day of the draft on NFL network they were saying many teams took him off their boaed completely

04/21/2018 - 12:22am It was a lot of fun, once.

I did an excape room on my birthday where we had to leave before a "volcano" erupted. I went with some smart people, and had a lot of fun figuring out the clues and brain teasers in order to get the door code to leave. Ours was an hour and we made it out in just over 50 minutes. I was a lot of fun, but it was relativly expensive. Was good for a special occasion and for the novility of the night.

04/03/2018 - 9:31am Guess when we started watching live. It was right

Guess when we started watching live. It was right when Michigan stopped shooting well. Within a minute Michigan lost its lead and never shot well again.

03/25/2018 - 4:11pm First comment about MSU?

When I read the post I wondered how many comments it would take before making fun of MSU. It was the first comment. Tip of the cap to you sir.

Fitbit said heart rate was 115 at the end of the game. Way to close it out. Keep it going.

03/22/2018 - 10:40pm Opposing coaches 1000 foot stare

Can we have another opposing coach end of game 1000 foot stare compilation. I noticed the A&M coach had one near the end of the game tonight.

03/18/2018 - 5:33pm I think he will say

02/26/2018 - 7:25am I miss the older version of Sports center

I miss when sports center would show highlights of the games from the previous night instead of showing the same couple of games several times and having commentators give their hot take on what happened. If you root for a team that is only okay or not new York or Boston you might go a month between seeing a team you root for.

02/24/2018 - 2:46pm Try Youtube

Most of them show up on Youtube within a day or two.

02/22/2018 - 6:54pm In with final 2 or 3 for recruits?

I have wondered in the past if a recruit who has picked Alabama, and is sure he is going Alabama, has been told by Saben to put Michigan in his final group just to troll this fan base when officially anouncing for Alabama.  Seems like a spartin thing to do.

02/18/2018 - 3:35pm Wooooooooo

It is great to beat OSU in anything. It is especially great to beat a top 10 OSU

02/05/2018 - 11:36am Listened to the interview

While I agree that RPOs would be great in the Michigan offense, I think he said that he was looking to see how the Patriots defended it. It seemed to me he was more interested in how to stop it than how to run it.

02/04/2018 - 1:03pm Tell him the truth

Indianopolis had 3 of the 4 tested ball underinflated too but you rarly hear about that. Tell him it was a group effort to try and restrain the greatest qb in history out of jealously because they could not do it on the field.

01/28/2018 - 5:46pm I read the article twice thinking I must have missed something

So I read it a third time.  Then went back to this page to comment and saw many others did the same.  I do not think we need to add any sensationalism to this story.  If we ever get to the point where "You won't believe what _______ did next" level of posting starts to happen, I hope mods ready the ban hammer.

01/27/2018 - 1:53pm objectively consider

Under Jed Fisch Michigan started okay and steadly improved to an effeciant to great passing team. This helped open up the running gameThe qb at the time went from backup cast off to NFL player.
This year under Pep, the passing game went from bad to dear God it can't get worse can it? just about every week. Starters regressed, and back ups seem to do well until they became starters. It seems to me that the QBs got worse when they were coached more.
Then Jed goes to UCLA and coaches the qb there to a possible first round draft pick. Coaching matters and Michigan suffed last year. The worst example of this was the bowl game when they needed a first down to stay in the game. There was a play action 15 yard pass play called. It made me sad.

01/15/2018 - 9:05pm This is now one of my all time favorite quotes.

I may print it out and hang it in my classroom.  It may encourage some students who are having difficulty with fractions.
