Somebody needs to check if the Columbus police are rolling out in the tactical gear or not.  That's when you know shit's about to hit the fan.

Not necessarily.

First, if the panel is not just a rubber-stamp, they have to lay out what they have found. That involves distilling weeks of documentation, interviews, and piecing together of data into something to report. There's no way that takes less than a couple of hours. Remember, even though Zach Smith is fired, they'll have to go through the laundry list of things he's involved in. The staffer that he was involved with, what text messages were sent when, all of that. Stuff that involves other coaches, their wives, and various administrators in the athletic department. Who knew what when? What was a reasonable response?

That's a lot of time.

Then the trustees have to discuss all of this. There is a good chance someone is getting fired. They have to determine who holds responsibility, why that is, all that stuff. They may need to consider how to rectify the situation in the future--at the very least, a plan will be put in place to repair the process.

If there is disagreement, that all needs to be hashed out. If someone is getting fired, agents and lawyers need to be involved.

It's a lot for one day, honestly.

Over under on how many crocodile tears she provides....

Either way, this whole thing has not been good for correcting a serious societal issue, one for which Shelley Meyer gave a keynote address. For her to be involved in the “recovery” process is about as sick as it gets!!

The wife appearance can mean anything anyone wants it to mean.  As much as anything, having her there is good optics in a situation based on domestic violence.

IMHO - he will not be punished. No suspension. No fine. Maybe some stern words: "Coach Meyer apologized for lying and we'll move on."

Yes, lying to the Ohio State media, and by extension, Buckeye fans,  is apparently not that significant. I mean even they agree with that on local forums. So, how bad could of any of this really be?

If they aren't going to punish anyone for anything, why did they budget a half a million on this public relations circus? Oh, yeah, because they have to make it look like they care about things other than winning football games.

If I didn’t see all the stuff about recommended suspensions I would think that today’s signs indicate he’s getting fired. But I don’t becaude of that. Oh well. Love the twitter jokes started by LG though haha.
