Supposed to announce at 6 EST.

Stuck at my office in Arizona, hoping someone can give some play-by-play assuming this is being covered on the radio or tv somewhere.....

that it was a big surprise and put a big smile on my face, and I said hi to her of course....yay!

I met her on the bus to get a rental car before the 1st time Taylor started for UConn 2010 and we have become texting buddies, she's a super cool lady!

In the case of Lewan I expect most fans WANT him to stay but will support him if/when he leaves early for the NFL.  He's clearly ready and will be a top 10-15 pick.

This shouldn't be the situation like with Darius Morris, who most fans WANTED to stay but were UPSET when he left.  In that case they felt that it wasn't in his best interest to leave and felt that it was going to severely set the program back by doing so.  Still not a reason to hate on the guy, but some fans did since they felt like it was a mistake.  As it turned out, the program was just fine and his decision to leave didn't entirely blow up in his face given that he got a second contract with his home-town Lakers.

Lewan, Kalis, Miller and Schofield, this gives Michigan the flexibility to play Schofield inside at guard if they HAVE to.  If one of the tackles, Magnuson or Braden, is more ready to play than the best guy for that last guard spot, they may just shift a tackle inside.  I haven't heard practice reports of Blake Bars breaking out or Chris Bryant being remotely ready to play.

Could we see Lewan-Schofield-Miller-Kalis-Magnuson/Braden?

I dont think its out of the question.

This is fucking huge! My concerns about the oline just got a whole lot smaller. Thanks Taylor and you know what they say about those who stay!

Yeah, it's about half what it was an hour ago. There's a big difference between replacing 3 marginal starters and replacing 3 marginal starters and an all-American.

Risky move for Lewan, but it sounds like he took his time with the decision. I hope for his sake that he stays healthy.

Holy crap. Yes!! Muppets! Taylor: please take out a good insurance policy. What a boost for next year's team. Honestly, you only go to college once. I loved my time at UM as well. Go Blue!

Great news. Big help for absorbing so many young guys into the o line next year. Huge service to the program. Thank you, Taylor. Thank you, Jake. Thank you, Kate.

I saw this thread and I was like "Oh no, here it is."

I scrolled to the end and now "I be like, dang!"

This is great.  The surprise factor is right up there with Wheatley announcing that he had to do what was best for him, took a breath, and said that it was best for him to be at the University of Michigan.  I totoally thought the kid was gone.  Good for him, good for Hoke and great for the University of Michigan.

Giving up all that money to risk a senior year injury... As much as this says about Lewan's feelings for Michigan ,I feel it speaks greater volume about how good the coaching staff is for him to feel he can learn more and improve here, expecially after holding his own vs Clowney. It's not like we will be on anyone's top 5 MNC contenders this spring...
