TP's HS Coach says Pryor being misused

HS coach: Tressel should let Pryor run http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4582474 Are the wheels coming off in Columbus? It sounds like if they lose again this season they're going to burn down the stadium. Anyway I still think it's a bit early to write the kid off. I think he'll be dangerous by the time he's a senior, unfortunately.

Oh really? Being misused? Then amybe you should have talked him into going to a program that would have utilized his strengths instead of trying to utilize his weaknesses. Just a thought. Hindsight is 20/20.

...I am very happy with how things have turned out and with the QB's that DO play for Michigan but this quote was a real zinger: "There is no question that Rich Rodriguez's offense, for example, would be more apt to suit Terrelle's skills", from TP's high school coach

I know our offense has changed and we won't be spitting out NFL QB's like we used to but someone please name me a QB from Ohio State who has done anything in the NFL ever? You could argue that Pat White has had a better NFL career than Troy Smith and he has played in like 2 games. Pryor made a huge mistake by going to Ohio State!

Although S.G. Rice beat me to it, Phoenix actually gave Tupa a serious shot at QB before giving up on him. He was in the league for a long time, mostly as a punter. Also, there was the immortal Kent Graham, who was a journeyman but managed to stay in the league for nearly a decade.

"I know our offense has changed and we won't be spitting out NFL QB's like we used to but someone please name me a QB from Ohio State who has done anything in the NFL ever?" Easy: Tom Tupa. Helluva punter.

Let's be real, no chance OSU is making him worse. He is against real competition, and maybe they need to tailor to his talents a bit more. But this quote is hilariously silly: "I believe the criticism has seeped into his mind. I'm sure there are some mechanical issues. But all I know is he was accurate when he was in high school."

"He is against real competition..." Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner! TP went to a small school and played against lesser talent. I remember watching him play and the size difference was amazing. It was like me playing on my son's pee-wee team. I also stand by the assertion that TP is just too dumb to get the OSU playbook and probably wouldn't have fared much better at M. He's a MAC brain stuck in a B-10 body.

Went the trolley! Ding, ding, ding went the bell! *EDIT* Aw, c'mon. I thought that was pretty funny. The Sweeney Sisters? SNL? Jan Hooks with the low-cut dress (hubba, hubba!)? SURELY, I'm not the only one old enough to remember them?

...not really. I'd guess that Jeannette PA is not a pipeline for OSU recruits, so I'm notsure Tressel would care. Bigger deal to me would have been if Boeckman's coach came out last year and complained how Tressel benched his NC runner up QB for a QB with questionable mechanics after a bad game against a TOp 5 team. Item to watch for the rest of the year would be to see if other OSU player HS coaches start complaining how Pryor's play is affecting their guys getting a chance to shine. Or to see if Boren starts missing practices to plow WalMart parking lots-- we all know that's the real sign of a program going downhill.

No great revelation here, but quarterbacking in the NFL is about making good decisions. TP is only a sophomore, but his play on the field has suffered not only from poor mechanics but also poor decision-making. Moreover, various off-the-field remarks that he's made fairly suggest that he's immature and that he's not particularly heady. If the NFL's his goal, he should switch to WR or gain 15-25 pounds and move to TE, positions at which he'd be a matchup nightmare. Now if Tate, Denard & company could just beat the Buckeyes on November 21st to drive home the point a little further . . .

"Give me two, Utah!" The combined power of Busey and Swayze almost melts the screen in that movie. Only Keanu's suckiness brings it down enough to make it viewable by mere mortals.

Strange how Keanu Reaves plays the same character in Point Break, the Matrix, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, and that crappy chick-flick with Sandra Bullock. Fun fact: 38% of the dialogue in Keanu's career consists of the word "Whoooooah"

The correct Jeopardy question would have been "Please name me a QB from Ohio State who has done anything in the Arena League ever?" Art Schlister would have then been correct. Back to Shelly, you have the control of the board with a minute to go!

"There is no question that Rich Rodriguez's offense, for example, would be more apt to suit Terrelle's skills," Reitz said. "But Ohio State sold him on the idea that they would prepare him for the NFL and that they don't run 'zone-read' in the NFL. Jim Tressel is a great coach. But I can tell you there is more to Terrelle Pryor than what we've been seeing."

This is why I just LOVE buckstache nation. Coach comes in, savior of the program, wins every game from here to the moon, instantly making their program one of maybe the top 5 in the nation. Have a couple rough games... he's done. A moron. Kid comes in, next great QB, works his butt off trying to be the best. He's still very young. Bad game. Lets fight him. Oh, you buckeyes.

Blah blah blah how dare Pryor exercise the right chose OSU over us , despite his working hard to become a top football prospect and go wherever his heart led him, never mind the way they play high opponents like USC, Texas and stuff in the regular season, or their BCS title game apperances, or the fact that he might have preferred Columbus to Ann Arbor, etc etc etc

Yes, how dare UM fans agree with his high school coach. We all know Pryor better than him anyway. I am wondering if this was done on purpose to see how quickly JimBob could get to negative points. It is a little too cliche to actually be a negative comment towards the mgoboard posters.
