Wait, freshmen are eligible?…

Wait, freshmen are eligible?  Is it 1972 already?

On re-read I see what you meant :)

What a prick.

What a prick.

Like I said, ok, if he was…

Like I said, ok, if he was exhausted.  But I have a hard time believing CB needed to come out because he was tired.

May not have ultimately mattered, but it did not look like a smart strategy for putting us in the best position to win.  I also agree with others that you could go big if you really need fresh legs and slide Livers or Wagner to the 2.

Yes, this was disastrous and…

Yes, this was disastrous and I can’t think of any excuse for it. ZJ has not shown anything this year to suggest he was ready to help us mount a comeback.

ZJ is not ready.  He’s NOT…

ZJ is not ready.  He’s NOT ready.  Putting him in for CB, unless he was exhausted, what a terrible mistake.  Keeping him in to let him jack up threes and turn the ball over.  It was frustrating to watch.  A lot of guys played bad, and the shit reffing was piling on (every flop was a charge in M, block on M, call Johns for a travel while Carr walks all over the court). But this was the biggest error.  Keeping Dickenson out was a mistake too.  Let him work it out and try to regain his footing.  No chance to come back with Davis in for extended minutes.

Ok, this game was bad for so…

Ok, this game was bad for so many reason.  But putting ZJ in for Chaundee when we were clawing back and CB had just made a couple great energy plays.  I mean WTF!? He jacked up two horrible threes, turns the ball over.  He’s not ready! Was Chaundee tired?? Worst decision I’ve seen by this coaching staff.

I cannot express how much I…

I cannot express how much I love Chaundee Brown. He's becoming one of my all time favorite Wolverines. I just love his passion and intensity, his joy for the game. He's also a damn good player. I wouldn't mind seeing him get more minutes.

I love this idea. At least…

I love this idea. At least it’s a step in the right direction.  At the end of the day, I don’t think it’s fair to compensate someone for their incredibly difficult and dangerous work in classes they don’t want, and it’s unfair to virtually exclude kids not smart or experienced enough to pass college level courses from the market for their abilities as an athlete.  Why shouldn’t John Smith be allowed to play against the other best 19- and 20- year-old basketball players in the world and compete for a potential career as a star athlete? just because he is not good at academics? It’s cruel in its unfairness.

As long as you don't mind…

As long as you don't mind committing federal crimes, this is a GREAT strategy.

My bet is he pulls a Steve Fisher and goes to a good mid major and turns there into a regular NCAA tourney team.

5 straight missed free…

5 straight missed free-throws to end the game.  They should feel bad, and I’m sure they do.

If you're saying Michigan…

If you're saying Michigan has better quality wins than anyone else at this point, I agree with you. I just don't think voters are or should be limited to resume in voting for which team they think is best, particularly when the sample sets are still very small. I don't think Stephen F. Austin is better than Duke.

Yes, but according to Bart…

Yes, but according to Bart Torvik, we are #6.  UNC is only #22 there, and Iowa State #44 (Gonzaga appears to be a legit top 10).  I'm super psyched about this team, and I'm holding out hope this is real, but you could definitely justify not putting us all the way up to #1 right now.  Now, if we beat Louisville on the road on Tuesday, I don't think you can put us anywhere else but #1.

I will always remember him…

I will always remember him as a fucking asshole.

But you do.

But you do.

I was wondering this also.

Which is painful to admit because Narduzzi is a total pos.

I missed it, what did he say?

I missed it, what did he say?

A win against a rival doesn…

A win against a rival doesn't mean anything unless they were good that year, which is demonstrated by whether you beat them.

"loses to ranked teams on…

"loses to ranked teams on the road" is one of the worst criticisms I can think of.  It's almost as bad as "record against top 10 opponents". News flash: most teams lose to ranked teams on the road. I'd love to see your stats on coaches' records in that situation and show that Harbaugh is underperforming.  Of course you can't, it's just a knee-jerk buzzword.

P.S. if you're among those who only cares about the end result of any particular game, why do you watch?  I watch because I enjoy it, and I can enjoy and appreciate a great performance by my team even if they lose.  And I can appreciate when my team is getting better, versus when they seem to be getting worse. And I can give my guys credit when the were in a position to win, but missed out on catching some of the breaks. You could probably save yourself some time by just checking the box score after the game.

Lol, glad you zipped in…

Lol, glad you zipped in there first to make the stupidest possible comment.

Seriously, just go fuck yourself if you’re going to post sarcasm without any substance at all.

It's not losing the…

It's not losing the particular recruit, although I think the son of the greatest wide receiver is a take, it's about the fact that our fucking shit fuck offense is so shitty that a recruit we want would rather play for fucking colorado.  THROW THE FUCKING BALL COCK ASS!

Boo.  This team is sloppy,…

Boo.  This team is sloppy, undisciplined. makes poor decisions.  Not just the players, but the coaches. put one DT in on short yardage.  Trying to stand up a guard with a linebacker.  horrible clock management as always.  We let 45 second run off the clock in the 2 minute drill on 1 play. Boo. Boo. Boo.

MGoBlog should do this as a…

MGoBlog should do this as a pre-season All-Big Ten list, rather than the draft format. I think it would feel a little less arbitrary and have a cleaner resulting product, while having much of the same content.

I'm not going to lie, I really hate that you started out the kid's "Hello" post the way you did.

Nah, I'm being facetious.  But I also don't agree with your top 5.  I'd put Jake Long in my top 5 before Mike Hart (god bless his little heart).

I agree entirely. I'd go so far as to say it's not even possible for something to matter.  It is impossible to articulate what it would even mean for something to matter. We are adrift in a meaningless void. Go Blue!

And the lowest rated guy's…

And the lowest rated guy's dad was an NFL Pro Bowler.

Before I start, let me say I…

Before I start, let me say I think Beilein should get a lifetime contract. As to this ranking, I hope it's right, but I'm not as optimistic about next year. It's great that we could get everyone back except Matthews, making us really experienced. The problems are, Zavier Simpson can't shoot and that's unlikely to change, severely limiting his impact on offense. Poole makes bad decisions and hasn't shown the ability to create offense against good competition. So we don't have anyone who can reliably create offense, and our team offense is severely limited because we don't have a reliable three-point threat. We have decent three-point shooters, but we lack a guy who you can count on to knock it down when he gets an open look or five. The Texas Tech game (and others) showed that we have the ability for everyone to go cold and miss shot after shot, and that's deadly if you don't have someone who can do it other ways. And with all of those weaknesses on offense, I'm really worried about losing Charles Matthews's defense. Isiah Livers does not replace that, and is a better shooter, but otherwise, I'm not sure he's much on an improvement on offense.  All that being said, I can't wait for next year, I hope I'm wrong, and I look forward to the possibility that something completely unexpected and awesome emerges.

I agree. The outrage seems a little hasty here. He didn't sign along with everyone else, so obviously he knew something at that time. I would love it if everything was clear, but this seems a far cry from the rampant oversigning and pulling scholarships from upperclassmen that goes on elsewhere.

That sucks. It sucks because it's an excuse when they lose, but also because it's a pretty good excuse. It's like bad reffing; it just sucks for everyone.  You don't want to lose because of a bad call, and you don't want to win because of a bad call. You really want to beat a team at their best.
