I think if you've got a 300+ pounder that is extremely good at DT, you're probably okay with him losing half a step speed wise. That's not a planet. That's Unicron. |

| 2 weeks 1 day ago | XKCD |
XKCD has turned me on to innovative statistical graphing, but I never really thought about where it all originated. At any rate, this is the cylical result of SEC dominance, but as I said, it's cylical. History has shown that highly successful organizations eventually end up headed by people who either assume that success is their birthright, and so do not try, or by the truly overzealous, wherin they cannot sanely lead the program as they adhere to bygone ways with a nearly religious bent. In either case, this eventually leads to organization backslide. Schools like Kentucky are cleaning up not because of their own successes, but because they offer student athleetes the chance to play on the biggest stage, against the cream of the crop. In truth, the poor recruiting of the rest of the big ten can be placed somewhat upon the shoulders of failure at Michigan and, to some extent, OSU. Kentucky ain't winning any more BCS games than Minnesota is. Tennessee is still in tatters (SHOWER DISCIPLINE!). But the continued success of Bama, LSU and their incredibly high profile conference mates makes them more attractive by extension. "Okay, we're not 'Bama. But by god, we play them all four years that you'll be here, and EVERYONE will be watching to see if you can stop their steamroller." Coaches used to be able to say the same things about Michigan and OSU. Then OSU lost national title games in horrifying fashion. Michigan lost to A - ENTRY NOT FOUND. Now the chance to play against those schools is less attractive. I hope there's a new 10 year war. It puts attention right on the Big Ten where it needs to be. |

He was considered a pro style QB coming out of HS, but somewhat short (6'1") and decent speed (4.57 40). It'll be interesting to see what happens. he might be a good fit, as Toledo loves to air it out, but runs a spread, so the QB still needs to be an anklebreaker wherever possible. On that note, since 2009, they've only recruited 4 QB's. A 2-star in '09, nobody in 10 OR 11, a 3-Star in 12 and two 2-stars this year. That's a situation that a guy can find playing time in. Sitting out a year is fine anyway, because this year's team belongs to Senior Terrance Owens. |

10. Don't buy Evan Williams. Everything else is fine. Evan Williams is made with Everclear and incinerated stray dog ashes. |

Personally, I think the best way to introduce scotch drinkers to scotch is to start with a Rusty Nail made with Dewars or JW, then buy them their first bottle of single malt, preferably a 12 year GlenLivet, for a birthday. Ideally, get them the bottle on their 21st birthday, help them ease into and appreciate scotch, and crack the GlenLivet on their 22nd (or 20th and 21st, if it's a responsible house.) |

It is originally a Scottish holiday, but I think you get a pass. I have Origine and Admore. I'm not sure which. Maybe I will go out for a Macallan 18? |

I would love to see them sport a cool helmet with the oil-slick, color changing style rainbow laid into the clear coat. Tell me that wouldn't look awesome. |

GI 312. Then? I'm thinking maybe Ardmore, A we dram, yeah. Or perhaps I will try to mix a gin flip. No cream, but I can make a passable one with some condensed milk. |

The butthurt is beautiful. Among the insinuations and accusations: We're negative recruiting and they never do. We're paying players. He was only visiting MSU to see some girl, etc. For the record, most of them are blaming their staff, and telling the others that if U of M IS doing anything wrong in recruitng, it's nothing that everybody else isn't doing. |

Yeah, but you gotta remember that the calf is subject to a ton of flexion and stress, and it's not a high scar tissue problem area. You need to stitch it strong so it can handle stretching during the healing process, and it's not a big deal if you get a gangly scar on there. Plus, if that's cotton stitching, it'll heal into the wound a bit and hurt like hell to remove. In that case, you want as few stitches as possible. |

Stribling was my favorite recruit this year mostly for the way he absolutely blew up after he committed. I hope he does things BIG TIME. |

If that were true, Chris Peterson couldn't have had Boise State winning for as long as he has. They're no less isolated, and they don't have the history. |

Sounds to me like this may have been a discussion with parents/coach: "Do you really want to go as far away as Stanford?" "I don't think so. It's too far." "Alright, lets cross them off then. But I think you should visit one other school in the region to make sure you're making the right decision."
