| 2 days 4 hours ago | for prototype pistons series |
Watch the 88 finals against la. Then watch the 89 championship video or if u can find it, just the cbs post-game mashup of the pistons winning their first title. Highlight clips set to the music of "the way you do the things you do". Last time network tv did a goood post title mashup with appropriate music that isn't. Pop song of the day. Underrated player on those teams- budda edwards. His fade away turn around jumper was as unstoppable as kareem's skyhook. Shame no post up players in the nba have signature post moves anymore.... |

I work for DoD satellite engineering, so I read: For career stuff, i always look at usajobs.gov and the job search engine on spacenews.com. if you are still a student, the best thing to do from my perspective as a recruiter for my company is to be available for a coop. That is the #1 thing to establish links into competitive industries like satellite engineering. For a fun tech read, I like information dissemination (naval blog focused on military ship bldg / navy issues) and wired's danger room. |
| 5 weeks 2 days ago | the story of detroit pizza |
The style considered detroit pizza started at the original buddy's. After a while there were two brothers who wanted to expand the business. There was a disagreement and one bro took over the buddy's pizza and the other started loui's pizza in hazel park on dequidre s of 9 mile. The brother who stayed at buddys eventually sold out the franchise rights and after a while wasn't happy with the changes so he brought his version of the original buddys recipe to shields. Then in the 80s you had jets and little ceasars bring their deep dish sqaure to market. Thiks was relayed to me from my dad, rip, an old polack from hamtramck who loved his pizza. Btw- he still thought loui's was the best |

At the kings table location if mine or one of the two other teams with significant um alums on the team win our league title tonight, we'll be drinking from our stanley cup replica at the bar... nothing like celebrating a hoops natl title and broomball league title by drinking bells two hearted ale out of a 16-in tall hockey trophy |

| 7 weeks 1 day ago | trouba was an enigma wrapped in a conundrum |
I thought he played like an nhl ready guy in the world juniors but on michigan I thought he played frustratingly meh. Flashes of brilliant skill and physical play were almost always followed by brain farting penalties or numbnuts turnovers in the defensive zone. I didn't think he was close in overall play to JMFJ or even a frosh Merrill. So, overall I'm not surprised he's leaving but I also think he could've used another yr of maturing like Johnson took advantage of. |

I've been saying this for a while and you hit the nail on the head wrt political influence on research spending. I work in the space industry and in all honesty, mikulski has been the sole reason umd and jhu have gotten such a huge chunk of space funding... umd's space program wouldn't exist without sen babs. Jhu's apl is essentially an ffrdc while maintaining univ status. If b1g were to get unc and uva, I would imagine wallops and goddard affiliated schools (re: umd and uva) would get money at the expense of marshall in huntsville and stennis in mississippi. Cic memberswith strong space programs like umich, penn st, and purdue will probably get the windfall in terms of increased funding to their state space grant consortiums by partnering with umd and uva. And oh yeah, basketball and lacrosse would be pretty good too. |
| 14 weeks 5 days ago | every time i watch trouba this yr |
I compare how he played for usa at world juniors and how we plays for us and I keep thinking somewhere there's a kgb gulag with the real jacob trouba cooped up sean connery in the rock style, with the warden a russian grad from state. I just don't understand how he could be so dominant for usa and so irresponsible on the ice for michigan... |

At the combine and shows he can execute a cut block at a pro day he can easily catch on as a third down back a la Darren sproles or as a spread option back in san fran, philly, someplace else. Best case he's percy harvin, worse case he gets a chance to prove he's 2nd coming of mel gray. |

tourney streak over, I would image Merrill AND Trouba gone after this year to the pros. If Red ever wanted motivation to go and reboot the program in terms of player types, recruiting, and assistant coaches, this is the year to do it. And to have this happen with Gibson f*n steal the show in Russia at the World Juniors, man, this hurts. But at least we've taken 2 out of 3 from MSU, amiright? |

baseball gets as being not a physically demanding sport, the human body isn't built to do a lot of the basic movements/skills in baseball: pitching, catching, visually tracking a 100 mph spheroid 60 ft away from you and coordinating your entire body's muscle movements to attempt to contact it, etc. Pitching injury stopped my first attempt at a baseball career (elbow damage), and then I switched to catcher and wrecked my knees. |

| 22 weeks 4 days ago | Now where do the other 3 dominos fall for football |
I imagine UConn to the ACC to replace MAryland is pretty obvious and on the way to happening. The wildcards are Cincy and SoFla. SoFla isn't ACC material in terms of academics or "bigness" and Cincy might fit the profile, but probably not. I would imagine SoFla to Conf USA and then Cincy to maybe the Big12?? |
| 22 weeks 4 days ago | That's the thing |
If the BE7 can take the BE's basketball autobid with them as reported last night on ESPN, then all they have to get is 2-3 other Catholic city schools with a basketball focus and they're set in a conference with the same focus and general ethics for scholarships/recruiting/scheduling/etc. Add Dayton, Xavier, maybe Temple or St Joe's, and you can have the "Papist 10" (P1G) I can make that joke, 'cause I'm Catholic. |
| 22 weeks 4 days ago | Interesting to me in SW Ohio |
is how Dayton and Xavier will react. Both are school the BE7 were targeting for a new conference, and with the reported ability for the BE7 to take the autobid with them, I would imagine UD and XU would sign up fast, ditching the A10 in the process. |
| 26 weeks 4 hours ago | Listen to a typical Finebaum show this week |
it would not suprise me one bit that auburn boosters would cooperate with the NCAA to get Chizik fired sans buyout even if it meant sanctions against the program. to an SEC school, sanctions are just a "down period" in the program and not a damning indictment of cultural rot at the university (see: Alabama in the "Shula years", Kentucky every other year, etc etc) |

Maryland also has a strong political delegation and a lot of bureaucrats in the DC capitol region. If we all believe the B1G is more than an athletic conference (the research pooling, AAU membership preference), the addition of Maryland & rutgers gives the conference more clout in DC, and greedily for me, more access for B1G universities to Goddard Space Flight Center. Athletically, it's a wash to me... these two schools aren't going t ochange the athletic dynamics in football or basketball that much except for giving Penn St a now natural set of rivals and probably forcing the conference to go geographic based divisions. this may be worth it in and of itsellf. |

responding to Goblue1213 above....
But with the academy academic structure, he's SOL. USAFA doesn't have a 5th year program (the AF's grad school is at Wright-Patterson, not at the USAFA) unless he got a waiver from the commandant to postpone his graduation, but most cadets want to get their military careers going. There have been extremely limited 5th yr redshirts at the academies.. if that happens the cadet stays around for a 5th year in some weird post graduate status, but again this is VERY VERY rare. |

If you think that site was bad, stay away from Sirius Sat Radio Ch 91 between 3-7p this week. The 'Bam-ers are out in full force on the telephone to the patron saint of troll sports radio. I really want us to win just to hear the reaction from the callers next week that not only did they lose, but to a *GASP* Big Ten team. |
