Michigan vs. VCU Postgame (snowflakes) Thread
REPLIED TO THE WRONG POST DON'T CARE POSBANG WOOOO WHISKEY
Stauskas.
His ball handling was great. I remember when some people were scratching their heads when Michigan offered him.
He is such a useful player. His handle is so solid. He will probably never be a starter but always a contributor.
Disagree. He might start next year. If not, and if Walton only plays two years (I'm optimistic about him), imagining a senior Spike is a very nice thought.
Maybe two PG starting offense in three years.
Exactly. I could see him being used like Hulls at IU. Slid over once Yogi came on board.
Great all around game...really impressed with Spike Albrecht...great with the ball and made some pretty nice passes.
Also, more ripped jerseys? And they havent replaced the one damaged against Minnesota apparently.
Hey look your Kitchens on fire
That is simply incredible. What a great time for Mitch to show up big. I predict he doesn't let up in the coming games. That's right, games, plural.
The team showed today that if their heads are right, they can beat anyone in the country.
State is rife for upset considering Memphis is a good team
I have Memphis winning that game in the bracket
I think their game will go similarly to ours. Memphis likes to run the court and a disciplined team can beat them.
As fun as that would be, I really want to see the B1G continue to win in the tournament. Even if it means another win or two for Sparty.
Keep racking up the wins.
But a word of warning to MSU & OSU. You might want to lose before you get pummeled by Michigan.
Go Blue!
at neutral sites and counting...
Does that include our loss to Wisconsin at the United Center?
McGary plays under the rim a lot more.
But effort wise, yes. Maybe Faried meets Hansbrough?
I like not playing Big Ten teams. Maybe we should join what's left of the ACC.
BOILING WATER RULES!!!!!
OP EDIT:
PLUS POSBANG!!!
Go Blue!
He didn't play great in the B1G Tourney, and perhaps he's slipped to the #3 big man, but zero minutes? He must be in the doghouse for something more than his play.
Like an ankle injury? It's best to rest him til he's back up to full strength - we'll need him.
As long as we continue to win, I will continue to post this glorious GIF.
EFF YO COUCH, VCU!
Where do I get a Detroit v. Everybody sweathshirt?
YEAH MR. WHITE! YEAH SCIENCE! YEAH GOOGLE!
We kinda have 3 of the best shooters in the Big Ten. Not sure if asking for Glen Rice 2.0 is realistic...
NOW
THATS
WHAT
Im
TALKIN
BOUT
I would like to thank this team for their play today.
That was the single greatest focus, energy, effort and EXECUTION I've seen in a looong time.
Coach B may have just coached his best game at Michigan. He's a great coach, but I don't think most people will realize what we did to negate VCU's pressure. Also, the rotation and subtitutions were 100% on point.
To watch McGary play like a man. To see THJ's leadership. Burke making plays. Albrecht coming in and holding his own. GRIII captializing. Stauskas playing solid D and spacing the floor...also making plays.
That was beautiful to watch. Go Blue everyone, GO BLUE!
Midway through the 2nd half when THJ went nuts capped by that dunk, I almost got a little misty-eyed. We forget how much he struggled last year. His game is art now, his intensity on defense, he's become a ball-handler, his shot selection, barking out orders on offense and defense. For as much as McGary did, THJ played one hell of a game.
This team executed like I haven't seen.
Scott Van Pelt always says "how good is your good?" What that was Michigan playing some of its best basketball. I challenge ANY team in the country to match that if we bring that every night. 2 maybe 3 teams would've been able to keep up with the way Michigan played today.
Again, Go Blue everyone, GO BLUE!
What was he going to do? Hey, let's play half-court basketball?
VCU's press will expose a lot of teams. But against the best point guard in the country and two of the best finishers in the country, VCU's style put Michigan in advantageous situations.
That was fun. And the outcome I was hoping for. Beat the press and play easy basketball w/ numbers.
Not sure how this makes Shaka a bad coach or even a coach worth being made fun of.
Just a bad draw...but he's got VC freaking U as a 5-seed and I didn't see one player on their team that coach start for Michigan.
on anyone, but I did like it today. VCU never called off the dogs on an undermanned Akron team Thursday and that was inexcusable. They deserved to be punished today, and Michigan punished them.
We didn't run up the score. We were on pace to drop about 90 on them at one point and finished with 78. Beilein's substitution with 1:15 to go was how he (and most other coaches) always does it.
