He certainly has been passed…

He certainly has been passed on the depth chart by Semaj Morgan.  Could open up a space for someone in the portal for depth.  Maybe they are already on the roster and will emerge this spring?

Great.  Now we need 11 new…

Great.  Now we need 11 new players.

Hopefully he picks a school…

Hopefully he picks a school that can help him with any path he wishes.

They now have 3 players…

They now have 3 players total left from the last 3 classes.

Fred Hoiberg would be a safe…

Fred Hoiberg would be a safe pick.  Solid reputation and NBA and NCAA experience.

He can, but will he?  Stay…

He can, but will he?  Stay tuned......

I don't know why he wouldn't…

I don't know why he wouldn't be considered.  I certainly would ask him what his plan for NIL is?

Hopefully there is some plan to manage this process for a coach, but Juwan was overwhelmed by this aspect, and seemed left on his own to manage the admissions tragedies.  This will be the central issue because developmental programs are now feeding grounds for the rich teams.

Thanks.  That link worked…

Thanks.  That link worked great.  This will be an interesting story going forward.  Lot's of competition.

That was easy.  Now get this…

That was easy.  Now get this hire right.

Good time of year to do…

Good time of year to do that.  I cut mine all back last week while waiting for Juwan to be fired.

Given the Sanderson incident…

Given the Sanderson incident and the risk of litigation, I would make sure that I had a clear vision of the situation before letting the employee know.  This is a good time to keep the lawyers in the office in the loop.  This increases the probability of a firing considerably and just has the appearance of moving on.

With the tournament starting, I wonder how that will impact the timing?

Sounds good to me.  Nobody…

Sounds good to me.  Nobody wants to hate Juwan he just seems to be in over his head.  He needs 10 new players.  After his 5th year.

Requiring academic progress…

Requiring academic progress seems a good idea also.  Keeping the student athlete aspect intact.

That would be a grease fire…

That would be a grease fire.  Also, can't watch the basketball team lose tomorrow because it's on Peacock.  Thanks Warde!

How can Denver even field a…

How can Denver even field a competitive team with 85M taken off?

Yes.  I feel like the…

Yes.  I feel like the Vikings would be a good fit and with the 11th pick at least 3 of the other QB's should be gone.

He is a really good…

He is a really good announcer and his show seems to flow very well also.  He has interesting things to say without being offensive.

Wow that's nice.  Now how…

Wow that's nice.  Now how about 10 other players and we should be competitive.  3 - 16 in conference play.  In the coach's 5th year.

Yes Keegan or Zinter in the third round seems wise.

He was needed at center this…

He was needed at center this year and is always solid at guard.

All for the same team.  Very rare.

I agree.  He could always…

I agree.  He could always come back as AD.

They looked good in the…

They looked good in the second quarter.

I never call for a coach's…

I never call for a coach's firing.  But ......it's his fifth season.  With little in the pipeline.  No tournament for 2 straight years.  Is he going to re-invent himself as a major college coach?

He also has played on all of…

He also has played on all of the special teams units.  Getting his experience and leadership back would be a plus.  Team player.  National Champion!

Hope it's not a health issue…

Hope it's not a health issue.  He is certainly in good standing and has not been connected to openings that I know of.

National championship coach that ran the very successful running attack would certainly be welcomed back when ready.  Plus he is the definition of a Michigan Man.

He's going to need that bulk…

Corum's going to need that bulk in the NFL also.  He will be a fine choice for someone.  A safe choice because of the high character attributes.

Nice job.  I like Lions…

Nice job.  I like Lions taking Zinter in the third round and Trente for the practice squad.  Keegan at that point (3rd or 4th round) would be fine also.   Lions need OL quality depth after addressing CB and DL in the first two rounds (or free agency).

There are 6 OL from the National Champions and 2x Joe Moore winners.  They were a major strength of the team.  Getting 2 or 3 of them seems like a good idea.

There were some linemen that…

There were some linemen that washed out pretty quick during those years like Ben Braden and Mason Cole.

Mike Desimione has a page on wolverines in the NFL: http://www.mikedesimone.com/michf.htm

He will be gone by the end…

He will be gone by the end of the 3rd round.

It never made sense and I'm not sure why it became a serious rumor.

I like keeping the NFL…

I like keeping the NFL atmosphere.  Hope he can recruit.

Now to fill out the LB and DL coaching positions.

There has to be a better way…

There has to be a better way for schools to police themselves.  The NCAA cannot keep up with the changing landscape of NIL, etc. in its current format.

They are hiring a General…

They are hiring a General Manager and this is a new position, as I understand.  It will be this person's job to oversee NIL and stay in lockstep with other schools.  Compliance should be be important and rewards given to existing players.  Up front money is going to be the tempting carrot to stay away from.

This is setting up to look…

This is setting up to look like an NFL system.  Everyone has their roles, small in scope but crucial.  Position coaches can concentrate on working with the current players and game preparation rather than spending 70% of their time on recruiting.

The changing NIL landscape…

The changing NIL landscape and the uncertainty created each year by the transfer portal is causing many college coaches to look at the alternatives.

In the NFL you can just coach.  You don't have to worry about player acquisition at all, in most cases.  You don't even have to worry about sign stealing, the NFL uses headsets - problem solved.

The NCAA is now trying to enforce NIL rules that are vague and widely violated.  Anyone with success is going to have a target on their back.  Jim had to leave to protect UM in my opinion.

I only get my gear at…

I only get my gear at Walmart.

That was a real turning…

That was a real turning point.  The national media saw the incident as the heat of the moment, but there has been little good news about the program since.  I loved Juwan as a player but this bad.

There is no savior coming…

There is no savior coming from his recruiting efforts either.

Never say never.

Never say never.

This is turning out to be a…

This is turning out to be a transition that keeps the familiar faces to a team chemistry that does not need to be fixed.

I certain understand the…

I certain understand the difficulty of finding the perfect candidate.  The perfect balance of young coach, recruiting success, NIL compliance (good freaking luck), Michigan connection if possible.

Not really sure what the list will look.  Does not change the fact that we need a new coach.

I loved the satellite camps.

I loved the satellite camps.

It's year 5 and we are worse…

It's year 5 and we are worse off, in every measure, than when he started.  I admit that I am surprised he is so bad.  I did not see a floor so low.

Plus he coached on a…

Plus he coached on a national championship team with great chemistry.  Keep as much of that as possible.  Never heard anything but great things about him.
