many is the number of people who have tried to predict Michigan's record. these have ranged from predictions based on great hope to predictions based on utter fear

.

but these people are speculators; they do not know what will actually happen

.

THE KNOWLEDGE, on the other hand, talks with clear and detailed information about the future and will thus reveal the season results in this review

with this post THE KNOWLEDGE also introduces the THE KNOWLEDGE CHALLENGE for 2014. unlike previous years, THE CHALLENGE will not run every week, but will run in segments

for the first edition, the readers are asked to name correctly the teams that will qualify for the playoffs. there is no need to predict the winner. at the end of the regular season, the reader that revealed the 4 teams correctly will be named CO-SOARER OF THE KNOWLEDGE

Since his last post. What could we have done better with more of THE KNOWLEDGE for the last 42 freekin weeks?

Robin Williams and a bunch of people in Mesopotamia would be alive today!

We wouldn't have had the worst winter ever!

Stillborn babies would have lived!

Graham Glasgow would have handed off the keys!

Oh, actually, thanks for stepping in and getting the regents to nix the fireworks, by the way.

Welcome back comrade Knowledge. It's good to see you again. May your knowledge of the future happen and may there be no cosmic shifts that change the results you have so predicted.

My four playoff contenders are:

Auburn
FSU
Texas
Michigan

Yeah I know I picked Michigan. I picked Michigan to make the NCAA final four (well actually win it all) every year they've made the Tourney since 2007. It worked generally in 2012 and 2013 so why not for football?

Yeah I'm skeptical of the coaching staff. Doesn't mean I don't want them to succeed.

The KNOWLEDGE was already aware that i would write my four Can't-Miss playoff selections and them immediately remove them from this post so that i would infulence neither the readers of this thread nor the bookies in Vegas.  I will await my prize at a time and date the KNOWLEDGE already knows he will announce my victory..

I'm skeptical that this is the same guy from the haloscan days, but I haven't found any humor or (especially) wit in this schtick in at least 5 years. Also the consistently inaccurate predictions and running out of  silly space-time reasons to explain have been adding up for a while. Don't understand why such a smart audience goes ga-ga for this stuff.

It is entertaining specifically because it is asinine. Isn't that among the smarter forms of humor?

I'm not worried about whether it is the same guy... I just think it is fun to bring ridiculous predictions and some light-heartedness to the pre-season / pre-game conversation.

yes! I truly thought THE_KNOWLEDGE died or something. Definitely wouldn't have felt right without a review of the season that it about to unfold. Let us soar now.

1) Auburn

2) Oklahoma

3) UCLA

4) Michigan

Tremendous. Now I can relax knowing how the season went.

My four:

* Michigan

* UCLA

* FSU

* Alabama

Alabama

FSU

Oregon

Michigan

Bold Prediction: Halfway through the season the Big Ten is going to realize how lopsided the East and West are and put the top 2 teams in the Big Ten Championship. Michigan will proceed to steamroll the MSU defense. The game will be topped off by the pick six for Jabrill Peppers for  80+ yards. He will strike a Heisman pose in the endzone and the camera will pan to Desmond Howard shedding a single tear of happiness.

Top 4:

Florida State

Auburn

Oklahoma

Michigan

Note:  If MSU or OSU win the B1G, I would not want to have predicted that, and would not want to have anything but pure bitterness and disgust.
