No. Occasionally--actually quite a bit the past 11 years--the BETTER team has not won...but on Saturday we right the wrongs, re-tilt he axis, rethink the mistakes, correct the imbalance, recalibrate the norm, revie the glory and restore all ORDER. The scarlet letter must be irradicated in our house. The space time continuum is FINALLY returned to its natural state.

Chad is in the arms of the Great Comforter, and never to feel pain or loss again...but i join others in praying for mom, dad, brothers, grandparents, family and friends to be comforted in a way that our words cannot express and in a deep place that our thoughts cannot reach. Thanks for reminding us what is real, Seth, and causing us to think and pray for others who are struggling with the greatest pain and loss imaginable.

Simple: First, we win out. CHECK.
Next, in a stunning reprise of this summer's Harbaupalooza, on December 7th Coach takes Team #136 on a barnstorm tour challenging each of the top 4 playoff teams to a duel--beating the only taker, Notre Dame, who, although initially agreeing to the game and the result of winner gets in the CFP, reneges at the last minute and fails to show up...filled with loathing and disgust for the purple headed madman, the Committee reassembles in emergency fashion and votes MEEEECHIGAN in Notre Dame's spot.
And, Voila, it is accomplished.

Mizzou was a tire fire when i moved to STL in 1995, until Pinkel. Some, here, have complained about the lack of conference championships, but they are clueless about how hard it is to resurrect a program without national prominence or high caliber in-state talent. I respect Pinkel and wish him the best during the most important battle of his life. Mizzou will be lucky to find even a close replacement.

I know we live in glass houses...but, at least at UM when a certain AD abused his position and tarnished long-standing respect and tradition, it was the student body, en mass, that revolted and demanded his removal. I get that he held no historical significance to our program, but he threatened what most saw as the "best" of our university's character and tradition. Despite his wins on the field, the alum/students at PaU would do well to demand that any coach, JoPa included, who stained those colors would, at the very least, be shamed. Instead, with vociferous pride, this group hoists the banner--and win total--of the man who LEAST represented what should have been well and good about their school and community. In fact, diminishing not only the wins and loses, but the general reputation of decades (centuries) of highly regarded graduates. Thankfully, we only had a noodle to remind of our debacle.

The State will likely get first dibs, if PA has reimbursement statutes like most states for incarceration fees. Otherwise, unlike SSI or public assistance benes, once in the bank accout these funds are fair game to judgment creditors such as the victims of his crimes who now have significant judgments against him. Suffice it to say, he'll never see or spend a dime.

Just wondering--isn't it nearing the time to consider 86 a bit of a dangerman??? From jet sweeps to ninja blocking and now several touchdown receptions...i feel Chesson deserves a bit of love. Then again, he is a St. Louisan, so i may be homered up.

The issue could come up, though not likely. It would require OSU winning out and then crushing Iowa in the B1G championship, while UM handily beats Penn St. and Indiana, but barely gets beaten by unbeaten OSU...now, the Rose takes EITHER the just crushed/exposed Hawkeyes or UM which, in this scenario, loses but gives OSU all it can handle in a classic. Hopefully, this juncture is never reached because UM beats down all three remaining teams on its schedule and then lays Iowa low. But, just sayin, in that first scenario it could be hard for the Rose Bowl committee to pass up UM because, Harbaugh.

Bingo. Harbaugh explained it as being an understanding, early on, between himself and Morris that an attempt would be made to preserve a redshirt--thus, as we saw, it was Wilton in mop up duty up until now. What Harbaugh mentioned had happened recently was that HIS confidence was growing as he watched Wilton make the correct read and deliver the ball properly in the last few weeks of practice. In other words, the young man actually EARNED the #2 spot by performing at a high enough level to be deemed the backup starter, and thereby Morris became the true #3 QB.

Putting together a roster is best left to guys like Harbaugh and Saban, and i don't believe they put a high value on stars. I doubt Magnus or anyone else on this blog would argue that point. However, having a third party, if you will, collect, review, analyze and publish its ratings of a mass of high school talent situated throughout the country is a helpful recource. It's kind of like movie critics--i don't always agree with them, and they certainly can be wrong about a particular movie, but they serve a purpose. Usually, i won't change my mind about viewing a movie that said critics pan...so long as i'm interested in the film. However, on ocassion a very positive critique about a movie previously unknown to me may cause me to dig a little deeper and, possibly, go see the film.

The man is Summa Competitor and no doubt has a chart for everything, including the number of bathroom breaks a player takes during the season, but NO stat is more important than winning with Harbaugh. Then, he breaks winning down to Offense and Defense and Special Teams, further he breaks down winning to the position group, the player and each play. This man wants to win EVERYTHING...so, that may well lead to a rising trajectory in the particular stats he's most interested in. But, if the QB is Rudock as opposed to Luck, he will define winnning for Rudock much differently--maintain possession, limit turnovers, limit any negative yards--vs, Luck, whom i'm certain he would have expected to win with more downfield plays, yards per attempt/completion, etc. Either way, if the QB "wins" at his position, on each play, and leads his team to a win, i think he cares not a wit if its 28-0 vs. 70-0.

You could go with a couple dozen books, a set of crayons, a suitable metal firepot and a match...as the books blaze, quip about how the real tragedy is that 15 of the books hadn't been colored yet. Oh, yeah, wear a ball cap and, just up and leave about 1/2 way through the party.

Don't think Harbaugh cares too much about scores, as long as ours is greater, and know he doesn't care about stats. Peak Harbaugh is winning. Every quarter, every half, every game. He said he has a bad taste in his mouth about losing, and winning is the only way to change that. He loves this defense, and doesn't mind winning brought about, primariliy, by the D. It's about the TEAM...ala Bo. Actually, come to think of it, peak Harbaugh would likely be winning games WITHOUT the flashiest offense or best talent...ala Stanford.

And in every case the unthinkable, unimaginable and unexpected could happen: you bobble and drop the snap! There is no certain way to prevent that. If we played that last play a hundred times you would probably only see it happen one time like it actually did. Maybe the Harbaugh pot just needs to keep simmering and boiling--this is a long haul view, but in the end i like the idea that JH has a year to chew on this one and come up with something real special.
