Prediction for rest of season
So, I think we need a distraction from all the Fire Everyone posts. Here is my gut feel on how the rest of the season will play out. You may not like the End. I don't either. Feel free to disagree:
11-1-14:
We beat Indiana 31-28. Devin looks good against the offensive Indiana defense. Our record edges up to 4-5. The best highlights shown by ESPN are the students all wearing #fireBrandon t-shirts. Hoke says he feels happy for the kids. They worked hard for this win.
11-8-14
Tough road trip to Evanston. The Wildcats are motivated when they rememeber last year's last minute win on a FG. We all know how well Hoke prepares for a road game. The Wildcats win 28-21. Our record drops to 4-6. Hoke says the kids will go back to work this week and focus on winning the rest of their games.
11-22-14:
Maryland comes to town. They are pumped to play in the Big House. Unfortuantely, the Big House is only 80% full. The announced attendance is 104,887. The team plays hard but the season has worn on them. Maryland looks like a completely different team then the one Wisconsin curb stomped. Terps win 27-24 when Michigan misses 2 field goals. Record drops to 4-7. Hoke says we are all dissapointed. He needs to coach better, but kids will now focus on our biggest rival.
11-29-14: Team travels to Columbus. Buckeye fans dig up their old "We Love Rich Rod" posters and white out Rich Rod's name and replace it with Hoke's. Before the game, Team plants a pitchfork on the big O as a show of unity. Urban Meyer ends up planting a pitchfork in Hoke's ass. Buckeyes win 42-21. Two of the scores are on picked off JT Barrett passes. Hoke apologizes for the interceptions during his post game press conference. Season ends at 4-8. When asked about his job status, Hoke replies "well..stuff like that you cant worry about. Its about the kids and the ability to execute with physicallity".
12-1-14:
Atletic Department releaes a statement that Dave Brandon has announced his resignation.:When the press contacts Brady Hoke he says "well..I'm not fully aware of any resignations, but I am partially aware". MgoBlog "bad gateway errors" make it impossible to post new AD search rumors.
12-8-14:
Michigan announces the hiring of Uconn AD Warde Manuel as Brandon's replacement. Says "he has not yet made a decision on Hoke's status and needs further time for evaluation". This is the kiss of death.
Early January 2015:
Brady Hoke announces his "resignation". He restates his love for Michigan and says that the decision was all his and he feels he was too much of a distraction to the Kids. Coincidentally, this coincides with the buy out reduction of $1 million in Hoke's contract. Warde Manuel says the buy out did not come into paly and that the decision was all Hoke's.
Warde Manuel announces the promotion of Doug Nussmeier as interim Head Coach and says he will be given a full shot at the position. The coaching search commences. Flight Tracker goes wild....
2-2-15:
The day after the SuperBowl. Miami Dolphins fire their Head Coach. A few days later a blockbuster trade is announced with the 49'ers that sends Jim Harbaugh to the Dolphins. Dolphins also announce that Dave Brandon has been hired as VP-Marketing. Brandon & Harbaugh get to work work together after all. Commence Mgoblog suicide alert..
2-6-15:
AD Warde Manuel announces that Doug Nussmeier has been signed to a 4 year contract for $4 million per year. He states that he is a great young mind with the passion to lead the Wolverines to success.
TO BE CONTINUED......

Not really close, but closer than anticipated loss to OSU
No bowl game
We wait and hope, but new staff announced after bowl games.

Lose all the rest of the games. Brandon and Hoke gone. Two disappointing hires follow for AD and head coach. Michigan mediocrity continues.

The next month is going to be a real test of Wolverine fandom.
Trouble is, it won't end there. New AD Warde Manuel will hire Steve Addazio, and it'll be Manball II: The (w)Reckoning.

Agreed that 6-6 would be best for all before Hoke says sayonarra and then, please hire someone who has a winning head coach record and has passion.

I honestly do not want a bowl game. As much as the seniors have put in the work etc, the best bowl game we have a shot at is something like the Motor City Bowl if we're lucky. Is that really how you want to end your career, playing a bad Mac team on a Thursday Wednesday night of Christmas week when you're Michigan?: Sorry to be a pessimist but that doesn't seem like a better option than finishing out of the bowl picture at 3 4 or 5 wins and atleast its not blown all over national tv that youre lousy by playing in the motor city bowl. It sucks we even have to have this debate.

Normally I'd say you're crazy, our players can used the extra 15 practices. Unfortunately, with this staff, it could be an extra 150 practices and it wouldn't make a damn bit of difference in their development.
Let the kids spend time with their families during the holidays.

Addazio isn't hired until mid-January. Manuel offers the job first to Harbaugh, Miles, Harbaugh, Mullen, The Hat, Bielema, Gruden, Lesticles, Stitt, and then Schiano. Schiano initially accepts, but then changes his mind 24 hrs later. Finally, Addazio is offered and immediately accepts, walking all the way to Ann Arbor in bare feet to prove his devotion to the ground game.
McElwain never gets a phone call, is snapped up by Florida, and wins three national championships in the next decade.

In your scenario, we never even offered the job to Crean.

oh, ho ho ho, I bet it would my man. just not in the way you're thinking.

We'll never slip down to the Motor City Bowl. If we're 6-6, we'll get picked above a 7-5 team due to our larger fanbase.
October 26th, 2014 at 10:37 PM ^
both will get picked over Michigan bc they travel much better than Michigan. Did you not see Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl game? Michigan had trouble selling tickets for the game.
October 27th, 2014 at 6:39 AM ^
Nebraska will be much better than 7-5, and Iowa probably will be as well.
October 27th, 2014 at 11:27 PM ^
Nebraska and Iowa would be picked before Michigan.

4-8 most likely, possibly 5-7 if we grab one from Maryland at home. Losses @NW and @OSU virtually guaranteed.

FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!
1 more win between NW and Mayland, prob the Terps.
Smoked out by IU's offense. Beat, though not totally annihilated, by OSU.
No bowl, thank god. Brady gone day after The Game. We can only hope DB is gone either before that or on the same day. (yes I am being optimistic with this last paragraph)

And not likely Maryland. Maybe we beat Indiana. The best I see us finishing is 4-8.

First of all, you haven't been paying attention. Michigan will not score 21, much less 28 points again this season. We might beat Indiana, but only because their starting QB is 5th on depth chart and a freshman.
I think the team loses to Indiana because they haven't recovered from MSU yet. and then it all falls apart. Finally the OSU game will be an epic beating. Meyer will not let off the gas and puts up 50 on Michigan's hopeless seecondary.
Brandon will be fired, not resign, unless he is given an under the table severance of at least 2.5M. Hoke will be gone shortly after OSU.
Warde Manuel won't be the next AD, because if they fire Brandon either Brad Bates or Jeff Long jump at the job.
The next coach? who the hell knows. Very doubtful it is Nuss. We need Jim Harbaugh to at least give this program an attitude and a fighting spirit that it has completely lost. We need a coach as angry as Dantonio is at us, one that will do everything in his power to return this program to the proud place it holds in college football.
These are truly dark days in AA. Certainly darker than when RR was here, (Not wanting him back here, just to be clear)

Jeff Long but seriously doubt he will leave the SEC.

Uh, things have fallen apart already.

Richrod isn't coming back, just to be clear. I expect he'd coach at Eastern, Western, or Central Michigan before he would coach at Ann Arbor again.

Indiana and/or Maryland:
I think Miles will be offered the job and he will accept just to escape the tough SEC!
October 26th, 2014 at 11:02 PM ^
if Les is the right guy (or would want the job) at age 61. He may be comfortable where he is unless he starts losing more. I guess if he is motivated by money that may help but I dont see Schlissel as a guy who will shell out big bucks to compete with SEC football culture.

have to lower the advertising rates because everyone will give up and find something else to do next fall. I know I would.
