My point was as a whole Malzahn and Muschamp are close to Kiffin and Saban. Saban is hands down the best head coach in all of college football, but Malzahn is a very good head coach given his track record and Muschamp as a defensive coach is probably pretty close to Kiffin as an OC. Yes, it's probably premature calling them equal, but we haven't seen what they're capable of yet as he was just hired. On paper, Malzahn and Muschamp are one of the two to three best HC / coordinator combinations in the country.

May God help the rest of the college football souls. This is a great hire by Auburn as you have arguably one of the best offensive minds in Malzahn and now you give the defense to one of the best defensive minds who is used to coaching against the SEC. I think Saban and Kiffin are probably 1A, but Malzahn and Muschamp are easily even or atleast 1B.

Yes what a sad state of affairs when a fanbase is excited about a potential head coach who has won a national title and directly stuck it to our rival, has direct ties to the program, and has recruiting pipelines in the talent rich south. Considering a successful coach like Rich Rod was basically run out of town and we hired a guy from San Diego state, I would think we should be pretty happy with someone the caliber of Miles, if he even considers this a job worth taking after the program's been wrecked so bad.

I'd be happy with either Harbaugh or Miles. I don't understand the negativity towards Miles. I understand Harbaugh is everyone's first choice, but Miles makes a lot of sense. The obvious Michigan man tie, but he's had success at the highest level with winning a national title, especially against our rival. Yes, he's older, but anymore in college football, the shelf life for a good coach is probably around a few years before they move on, so even if we got 5 good years, I'd be more than happy. Plus, he already has established recruiting pipelines to the south, which is where the richest talent lives. If not Harbaugh, I would welcome Miles.

I sure hope it's not just that he saved a bunch of money on car insurance. While exciting, I would rather have Jimmie H.

I love speculation as much as the next guy but he was probably just as likely to hear his granddaughter landed the lead role compared to Harbaugh coming here.

If Hackett can land Harbaugh this is great. Maybe its the case of Bud Light I've drank but I'm skeptical. The way these last 7 years have gone I'm skeptical anything will end in success.

We're at a crossroads. As much as Brady needs to be gone, who knows how much Hackett is in love with the graduation rate and Hoke being a nice guy. I think you need to make big splash in the way of Harbaugh and I don't know if Hackett gets it, given Schlissleh's f\ocus seems to be academics only. I don't know, maybe it's the salty M fan in me in the midst of all Ohio country, but I don't understand why we can't get it right when we have truckloads of cash in the alumni network and some of the best athletic facilities in the world.

Glad to see another Ohio fan posting incognito on the board. I'm just curious at what point didn't the coaches fold? They're lousy. Plus, in case you didnt' notice, most on this board still pay to see the team play and travel to Columbus. This notiion that people can't voice their opinion when you're paying for tickets, plus travel and parking, is kind of absurd. If we're not allowed to voice opinions. then we might as well become zombies or communists.

I have no football coaching experience outside of YMCA flag football experience, but my offense was pretty successful at that. Plus, I wouldn't kick until there was only 1 second on the play clock, so I've go to be more qualified than Hoke.

How cool wouldn't it be if Hackett was on MGoblog? If so, back up a truckload of money and Hire Haubaugh. If someone backed up even $10 to my front door, I would listen.

What's so frustrating is this game was so winnable watching that first half. The sad thing is Hoke seems to get in the way of actual talent.

This is typical Hoke, an honestly winnable game pissed down the drain because of coaching. I f we go into halftime up 7 or even 4 because of a field goal completely differen ball game. Hoke's a waste of coaching space. My only solace living in 99.5 percent of Ohio fan base is that they will go nowhere with Jones. Good luck Ohio.

This seems about right. Good luck with Wisconsin. I don't think it will end well considering Jones doesn't even realize college is for school.

I hate this feeling. I know the inevitable but yet I have hope. The only consolation for me is Ohio will get absolutely pounded in the B1G championship game with Jones at quarterback. Sweet justice to some extent.

I really hope we find a way to get to "I don't come to school to play school". I can't imagine anyone making that comment is too smart. Hopefully Mattison figures out a way to combat the Ohio's coaches'. Guess we'll know soon enough.

I hope the guys find a way to win for their sake, not Hoke's. It's sad his inability to coach will taint what effort guys like Gardner has put forth in his career.

I get having a team in the playoff but I'd rather it not be at our expense. Would you really be excited for Ohio to win the NC and have to hear about if for the rest of the year? No thank you, if Michigan isn't involved, then let the SEC dominate.

Whatever M reporters are down there, can someone please make sure that someone asks Hoke why he kicked with so much time left on the clock at the end of the 2nd quarter? I'd love to hear the answer because even he probably doesn't have an answer outside of ineptitude.

I don't think the negativity is pointed at the team, they're playing excellent. i think its pointed at the coaching staff who makes the same mistakes every game. Punting with like 15 - 20 seconds on the play clock is ridiculous in that circumstance and arm-chair quarterbacks even know thats a bad decision. But somehow Hoke doesn't. Plus for Mattison to go to the prevent when your base D has worked all game and all of a sudden you think it's a good idea to rush 3 and give Barrett a clear view of the field along with running lanes. This is what people are upset about.

That's what I've never understood. These D coordinators love calling prevent defense after their defense has played well in a standard defense, and the prevent always gives up points. I wish I was in a profession where you got paid a lot of money to make the same mistake that's been getting made for years.

They had timeouts but possibly it changes Meyer's thinking of being aggressive or going into half considering they would have had less than 2 min and had to go 80 yards. Just saying, why help them at all when you know you're not getting the ball back before half.

Not happy with Hoke's time management on the punt. There was like 15 seconds left when they punted. Thats a big 15 seconds, why help Ohio? Now Barrett scores with 07 seconds left on the clock that they wouldn't have had.
