Michigan informs Cam Hunt that they are done recruiting 2013 OL
Well that's enough thread starting from me today. Here's Sam Webb's tweet:
#FoxSportsNext's @GregBiggins reports #Michigan informed Corona, CA OL, Cameron Hunt today that they're now done OL recruiting for 2013.

My sister is an OSU grad and she is barely making minimum wage. That should be good fuel for this board. She majored in a degree that doesn't pay well. I believe the type of degree may be more important than the school itself. Although, if I were to be completely honest, the Michigan fans that live in Ohio tend to be the lower educated, never stepped foot in Ann Arbor types. The ones that I have met at Michigan away games that are graduates of U of M are nothing short of great people.

I don't trust anyone from a rival team who compliments my team; it seems like what I would do if I wanted to create a pretend login for this site...
Actually, I wonder how many people have multiple logins to this site... I would like to create 7 or 8 other logins so I could always posbang my self and negbang my enemies... but I am too lazy...

Hey I can compliment Michigan and still hate them. No rivalry without mutual respect. Deep down that is what it is all about. Two powerhouses. Also, my daughter is 7 months old, if you had a daugther you wouldn't think the stripping thing is funny.

stripping is just a joke... or a profession that she will have to enter if she can't pass high school...

Yep, very glad they stopped here. 6 is a great haul of big uglies and there's always next year to continue building depth. Besides if this staff has proven nothing else, it's that they can recruit O-line.
January 16th, 2013 at 6:58 PM ^
A monster D-line to match it. Go Blue!
January 16th, 2013 at 7:39 PM ^
What's wrong with Poggi, Hurst, Charlton, Godin, Wormley, Pipkins, Strobel, Heitzman, Beyer, Clark and Henry? Many of those guys are beasts/highly regarded and they're being coached by the best D-line triumverate in college football.

The Junior in High School is always more exciting than the Freshman on our roster that just spent the season redshirting (no matter how highly they were rated).

That is true, there is always more hype for what you dont have

"The grass is always greener on the other side," as some people say. Or as Manti Te'o says, "the fake on-line dying-of-leukemia California girlfriend is always hotter than the real one in South Bend."

Year over year the defense is markedly improved from the Rodriguez years and the last of the RichRod era recruits are ending their careers at Michigan (BWC etc) while the new recruits slot in.
I imagine over the past two years (with legacy recruits) Mattison/Hoke/Montgomery have coached em up a little.
January 16th, 2013 at 6:18 PM ^
They can get to 28, that is about it. With two spots remaining, they feel good about both Green and the TE from Texas, Durham Smythe.
If they don't get all of the above two, some random 5* player may just show up at Metro Airport for an official to Michigan.
January 16th, 2013 at 6:31 PM ^
Where are you getting this info about Smythe?
From everything I have heard he is leaning towards Stanford. I know anything is possible because he visits on the 25th, but he is set to take a visit to ND on 2/1 as well.
January 16th, 2013 at 6:50 PM ^
You sure that visit to ND is REAL?
January 16th, 2013 at 6:56 PM ^
He's been saying a lot of positive things about us on Twitter recently. I've heard the same about Stanford though so we should tamp down expectations until his visit.

I didn't know about the twitter stuff until now. I know that Notre Dame offer came really late (maybe last week) so they might be playing catch up.

Bullshit. It's drive-by juvenile assholism.

Maybe I'm just being positive here, but if the coaches are willing to not recruit a kid that had a good shot at committed to Michigan then they must have the other spots locked up - or as locked up as they can be.
January 16th, 2013 at 6:59 PM ^
This is strange that Michigan has him on a visit weekend and then less than a week later say they are done recruiting O-linemen. It says to me that they now feel better about a couple other players they have a greater need for.

January 16th, 2013 at 7:22 PM ^
Do you think it might have anything to do with Samuelson's commitment? Maybe the coaches think 6 OL, after last year's 4 excellent recruits, are enough for this year.
January 16th, 2013 at 7:24 PM ^
But if they don't fill a spot, they just don't have a player. I think having more offensive lineman is better than not having a player at all.

It probably has more to do with the fact that another guard just committed to Michigan.

with Chip bolting Oregon, are there any WR that we may have a chance to flip in the coming weeks? by all accounts the coaches have given up the search for another WR in this class, but I would love to get a big time playmaker.
January 16th, 2013 at 8:01 PM ^
We need gambreakers at the WR position. Sebastian Larue needs to take a visit....

I'm glad someone else is willing to say this, Hoke's skill position recruting to this point is average at best, besides Morris and possibly Green, what other top talent has he landed at the skill position. Need game changers, big play threats
January 16th, 2013 at 11:30 PM ^
Right. Finally, someone has mentioned that he'd like to see game-breaking WRs and he's concerned about Hoke's recruiting of skill position players. I've been wondering when this point would first appear on this blog, and I think it finally happened thanks to Webber's Pimp in this thread.
Sorry to be an ass, but this comment is driving me a little crazy. If you throw away the 2011 class as one lost to the coaching transition, Hoke has had two classes. Across them, he has landed a five-star QB and very likely will land a five-star RB. He finished as the runner up for two other five-star RBs (Ty Isaac & Brionte Dunn). Despite having an offense that in no way shows recruits how the passing game will look in the coming years, he's landed a four-star WR in Amara Darboh and several others on the 3/4 star border (Dukes, Chesson, etc.).
I'd love to get a Treadwell type receiver, too, but you can't always get everything you want in one or two recruiting classes.
