Rivals 100 Final Update (Positive News)

Submitted by Denarded on January 15th, 2019 at 1:22 PM

New Rivals 100 released today with some positive notes on Michigan's end.

1. Chris Hinton moved back up to 5 star status, #2 DT and #15 Overall

2. Dax Hill stayed put as a 5 star #1 Safety, #24 Overall

3. Zach Charbonnet moved down 21 spots to #60 Overall assuming because he didn't participate in the UA practices, which... whatever already know what type of player he is.

4. Trente Jones enters the top 100 at #90 Overall. Huge jump for him and a great find early in the recruiting cycle by the coaching staff.

Congrats to these young men!

Yay, starz!!!  I remember just last week people were whining about whether Hinton had regressed and maybe the DL croots weren't as good as advertised.  Seems that things are okay...

2 five stars in the class.  3 if Charbonnet had participated.  This was a good class, despite how painful the month of Nov & Dec felt for M football fans.

I love the bloggers who want Zach C to stay at 4* status and avoid "the jinx".  Pretty damn close to the blogger who wants MBB to lose to avoid the pressure of being undefeated.  C'mon now...

In the end - doesn't matter.  Kid will be here in the Spring and show us on the field what he's got.  I am thinking it is going to be damn good!

Somebody let me know when the "we recruited a bunch of good players" parade through Ann Arbor will take place, followed, of course, by the recruiting "we got to go to the White House to eat a bunch of shitty fast food we could have bought ourselves, big spender" award...

My favorite part of the whole affair was that Trump included "I PAID" for the fast food in a Tweet. Like we are all supposed to fall down in shock that a self-proclaimed billionaire was able to pay $2000 for 300 fast food burgers and fries.

The fact that you or anyone else is triggered over this - positively or negatively - stuns me.  You don't have to get mad every day.  You don't have to refill the hate.  There was probably plenty left over from yesterday.

It's an amusing thing, the Clemson players seemed to like it, it's nothing, move on.  If he looked good for 5 seconds it doesn't matter, he's probably going to do something stupid/childish/spiteful any moment.  The leaders on the other side will too.  You can get up in arms over whatever that is.

He isn't joking. He will claim he is but he isn't. Recent history with him indicates otherwise. We all know what side of the political landscape he falls on. Then hides behind his sophomoric humor to voice his opinion. Shit is old and unfunny.

I wasn’t “triggered” at all, if he is talking about me too, not what that really means.  Certainly have not heard of anybody being “triggered positively,” I am least pretty sure that is not proper use of the term.  I mean, I think I think DT is a complete clown show but thought that was kind of a cool idea to be honest.  Not sure if that is “triggered” positively.

I said I thought the fast food was a good idea.  That is my take on it.  Is that “triggering” you?  I’m getting confused?  Are you telling me to “give it a rest” because I said I thought it was cool, or because I have not acknowledged just how cool it was?  What is it that you are looking for?

Not at all ijohnb, was responding to the clown. I agree with you, I thought it was cool too. The players seemed to like it just fine.Then he comes here to voice his displeasure with his style of humor. Last I checked it wasn't about him and probably should have kept his opinion to himself. The clown is the triggered fool here. Sorry for the confusion here but my comment is directed to the triggered clown and his lame ass attempt at political satire.

Dobbs had dropped to #48 the last time Rivals released new rankings so this is a big move down. Barnett moved back up to #98. They're MSU's only recruits in the top 400, but at least they have dynamic new coaches

I’m pretty satisfied that the coaches saw what they needed in Dobbs and he wasn’t a priority I like the tackles they taken a bunch more.  I also think that Rumler and even Barnhart end up better players inside.

Harbaugh/Michigan's staff knows how to spot talent and project their future development. It's very impressive.

This is going to be one hell of a good class.  Can't wait to see a few of them this Spring - particularly Zach C.  Would be fantastic to have him in the RB rotation come Fall.

On a separate note - didn't know Wisconsin had signed the #2 pro-style QB (#42 overall), Graham Mertz.  The only thing good about playing Wisconsin is you never had to worry about their QBs.  This kid is going to be worshiped the minute he hits campus, with plenty of milk-fed groupies to help show him the Madison area...

Jones looks alot like that Clemson OL who was crying after the game...the kid who came back his final year...

This made me laugh.

Look at this guy! His ranking went up because he's awesome! And look at this guy! His ranking went up!

(This guy's ranking dropped, but who cares, he's incredible and these rankings are stupid and biased toward people who participate in their little all star practice)

And look at this guy! His ranking went up because he's awesome!

 A little analysis of the Rivals 5 stars:

Total = 30

WHERE THEY ARE GOING?

There are 16 different colleges of choice represented in the top 30. Led by:

LSU = 4

Oklahoma = 4

Alabama = 3

Texas A&M = 3

That's 14 out of 30 going to 4 schools

WHERE THEY COME FROM?

There are 13 different home states represented (caveat - I listed IMG Academy recruits as being from Florida even though that is not really accurate). Led by:

Texas = 6

Florida = 4

California = 4

Louisiana = 3

Georgia = 3

Alabama = 3

That is 23 out of 30 coming from 6 states.

WHAT POSITIONS DO THEY PLAY?

There are 13 different positions represented. Led by:

WR = 5

CB = 5

OT = 4

SDE = 3

That is 17 out of 30 playing 4 positions.

Some random fun info:

 - All three Louisiana based recruits are going to LSU (Orgeron going to Orgeron)

 - Of the three Alabama based recruits, 2 are going to Auburn and 1 is going to Georgia (Must have been a real ugly bagman fight)

 - Of the six Texas based recruits, 3 are going to A&M, 2 to Oklahoma, 1 to LSU (Ok, cool, Hook em there Herman)

 - Of the four California based recruits, one each to USC, Oregon, Florida, Clemson (Helton will not be at USC after next season)

 - Of the four Florida based recruits 2 to Alabama, 1 to FSU, 1 to Georgia

 - Of the three Georgia based recruits, 1 to Michigan, 1 to Clemson, 1 to Oklahoma (Kirby Smart not building fences?)

- Oklahoma has four recruits: 3 WR's and 1 QB. That is three out of the top 5 WR's going to one school. Goodness they are not going to slow down scoring points.

- Of course Alabama signed the only RB.
