I was also hoping for the total good guys v bad guys uniforms. A vast sea of maize is going to be a beautiful sight to behold in the second half when all the Sparties head for the exits after Michigan goes up by 3 TDs early.

I think it was all about have the blue pants accented with the blue gloves... Darker gloves up against the dark jerseys of the opponent helps conceal linemen holding in tight. Common strategy

I understand the value of tradition, but I agree. From an aesthetic standpoint, I think it's an easy winner.
When I see white jerseys contrasting poorly with maize pants, I tend to think of painful road losses from the BoMoCarr era. (I don't think of Woodson's cool interception, sorry.)

Personally, I prefer maize away to blue. Maize just pops more. The blue looks good at home with the blue jersey - I think I like it more under the lights than the sun, for whatever reason - but I think the maize is my favorite away look, with white coming in second and blue third.

Agree. And the blue pants is my least favorite away option. It looks bush league. How many traditional powers regularly wear their darkest school color on bottom? Below is the correct pecking order for uniforms.
AWAY:
1. All white
2. White top, maize pants
3. All maize (if allowed)
4. White top, blue pants
HOME:
1a. Classic blue top, maize pants
1b. All blue (cold weather & night games)
2. All maize
3. blue top, white bottoms (just don’t*)
*any combination of maize top and blue/white pants should also never happen.

I know it's traditional but I can't stand the all white away uniform. Michigan Colors are not Maize and Blue AND White. I'd rather see all Maize or all Blue on the road and the combo at home.

Looks good, but poor choice for a night game with potential rain, where the opponent is going fully blacked out. Probably should have done white or maize paints.
Either way, let's hope for 63-7 with starters out by end of the 3rd.
