Special K had himself a night.... the jump around troll was pretty good though.

Hmm. He got rolled on hard by Jeter. It looked like a classic ankle or knee. I just went back and rewatched the play a few more times. The leg still looks awkward but he may have caught his hand/arm on Jeter when he tried to brace himself going down. Either way, hopefully he and Dwumfour are both back soon if not next week.

10/06/2018 - 11:03pm I don't know if Kemp will…

I don't know if Kemp will miss time, but it was definitely his right leg they were concerned about.

10/06/2018 - 10:58pm Kemp was rolled into by…

Kemp was rolled into by Donovan Jeter. He fell into his right leg and Kemp went down very awkwardly as he was being pushed over his right side. It looked pretty bad.

04/27/2018 - 10:36pm Agreed

Co-signed by a non-revenue athlete. Legally it will get complicated to only pay football players but they should at least let them profit off their likeness to start. Autographs, commercials, etc. If they let all student-athletes profit of their own likeness and the market will take care of itself as far as who gets paid and who doesn't.

01/08/2018 - 8:09pm Film Room

I wish Harbaugh was doing the coaches' film room. I love that they include it as an option for the broadcast. Go Dawgs tonight!

12/19/2017 - 11:30pm DTs

The only true defensive tackles going into 2019 seem to be Solomon, Dwumfour, and Paea if we don't land Friday or another DT in this class. Jeter or Irving-Bey might slide inside but that is not a lot of depth for a team the fields 2 defensive tackles at least 50% of the time.

12/08/2017 - 11:20pm 8

Nothing to do with his ability, 8 scholarship RBs seems like a lot. Also, wouldn't mind if we never ran wildcat/pepcat/evanscat again.

12/05/2017 - 5:28pm WR & DT

With many a rumor of a soon-to-be junior WR transferring, we definitely have to pick up at least one WR in this class. That would leave two upperclassmen WRs in 2018 and only six scholarship WRs total (not including Schoenle possibly getting a scholarship).

DT is a huge need as well. Right now there are seven on scholarship with Marshall, Mone, Dwumfour, Irving-Bey, Jeter, Paea (if he plays DL instead of OL), and Solomon. That would make for five non-freshman scholarship DTs in 2019 if they don't get a commitment in 2018.

10/22/2017 - 11:16pm Yeah, given the state of the

Yeah, given the state of the OL and [lack of] discipline on the team, the holds against the offense aren't that surprising. Even still, the lack of holding when M has had Taco, Worm, Hurst, Glasgow, Gary, & Winovich rushing the passer feels egregious.

10/22/2017 - 9:19pm Holding called on M - 2017

Penn State 1

Indiana 2

MSU 2

Purdue 1

Air Force 2

Cincinnati 1

Florida 0

10/22/2017 - 8:51pm MSU was flagged for holding twice

MSU was flagged for two holding penalties against us. Here are the holding calls against opposing teams dating back to Illinois last year:

Penn State 0

Indiana 0

Purdue 0

Air Force 1

Cincinnati 0

Florida 2

Indiana 0

Iowa 0

Maryland 0

Illinois 1

It seems absurd considering the DL we have had throughout that stretch.

Hoping for:

1. Occasional QB pull on read option

2. RB screen(s)

3. Targeting Perry in man-to-man out of the slot

4. Throwing a fade in the redzone to ol' skillet hands, DPJ, Gentry, or Nico

09/04/2017 - 4:56pm It wasn't just Damien Harris

It wasn't just Damien Harris on punt block, Bo Scarbrough and Najee Harris were out there as well.

I probably would have voted for Jourdan Lewis as Defensive Player of the Year.

From the article:

"This year, I did my first full schedule in the Big 10,' he said. Schwarzel was an Ohio State fan growing up, and said he was excited to be on the field for the Ohio State/Texas game, which featured (at the time) the top-ranked team in the country against the second-ranked team.

His crew worked the Ohio State/Michigan game this fall, which also featured the two top-ranked teams at the time, but Schwarzel was not allowed to work the huge game because he is from Ohio."

11/27/2016 - 12:30pm The back judge (that called

The back judge (that called Delano Hill penalty and no-call on Perry) - Kevin Schwarzel - is an admitted OSU fan that was barred from the 2006 game.

11/10/2016 - 3:38pm The Peppers fake throwback

The Peppers fake throwback Brian suggested would be awesome. Based on the wide angle replay view, Speight also could have thrown it back to Peppers for bunches of yards. The jet sweep transcontinental.

10/31/2016 - 9:52pm Yup, his head snapped

Yup, his head snapped sideways and backwards because of the shoulder to shoulder contact.

10/31/2016 - 9:46pm I really can't believe people

I really can't believe people are arguing that this isn't helmet to helmet. I just google'd "bush hit on frey" and this was the top link: Check the screen grab and the video below it.

10/31/2016 - 9:40pm Zettel hit on Rudock =

Zettel hit on Rudock = targeting.

Bolden pushed into MSU player = maybe the worst targeting call I've ever seen.

Bush hit on Frey = probably should have been targeting. That's not a hit that should be encouraged against any team/player. You don't have to hit him helmet to helmet for that block to be devastating and effective.

10/31/2016 - 9:31pm That is an incredible take.

That is an incredible take. It is about as helmet to helmet as it gets. They should have reviewed the hit.

Flip the script, take of the maize & blue goggles, and we would all be screaming for targeting.

10/19/2016 - 5:42pm UFR

Love the preview. Will there be UFRs posted for Rutgers? (I know what it will show, but still my favorite weekday post on the blog!)

EDIT: I see they will be coming out tomorrow! Thanks.

10/08/2016 - 10:43pm #5 & friends

Loved the all-encompassing domination (obvious things are obvious). The block in the back breaks my heart a little. 3 & 1/2 hours of pure joy.

09/12/2016 - 2:59pm willing to bet

I'd be willing to bet from the endzone angle it is pretty obvious that Poggi is losing leverage to MLB in that cutback gap. The MLB gets past Poggi and is at the line of scrimmage when #2 is still two yards from the LOS.

09/12/2016 - 2:33pm Harbaugh and Frost shook

Harbaugh and Frost shook hands right before the camera came back to the two of them walking in the same direction where Frost appears to avoid him.

09/10/2016 - 4:42pm No holds

There were some very obvious holds committed by both teams that didn't get called. Stribling, Clark, Braden, and one of our RBs in protection all should have been called. On the flip side there were numerous holds by UCF, including on the long run. It was strange to see none of them called.

09/10/2016 - 2:11pm The D has given up 10 points.

The D has given up 10 points. One 50+ field goal and one long run where two defenders were held. Maybe r-e-l-a-x.

Has he ever gone through a show without talking about 1997? Even once?

09/04/2016 - 3:24pm Yeah, he started the game

Yeah, he started the game without a brace. Somewhere between the drive with 5:00 to go in the 1st and the Stribling pick-6 he put a brace on his left leg. I went back and watched again but didn't identify a particular play that seemed to aggravate his leg.

It will be interesting because there are a few like that:

- McCray and Gil both in #9

- O'Korn and Wheatley Jr. both in #8

Looks to be Kekoa Crawford.

08/01/2016 - 12:29am Numerals

I like the throwback to the old font. I just wish they would use the 1 from that era as well. None of it matters as much as winning, however.
