Boycott College GameDay when it comes to AA, Go to Big Noon

Submitted by the Glove on November 13th, 2023 at 11:30 AM

In the highly likely event that College GameDay comes to Ann Arbor in 2 weeks, there should be a complete and total boycott from Michigan fans. This is not an original idea of mine, I am borrowing it from a Reddit user zygomanis. This is based on how ESPN has handled "signgate" as they have dubbed it. Also, the sheer fact of the complete garbage Steven A Smith, Paul Finebaum, and Pete Thamel have been spewing. Hell, the only discussion on College Football Final about the game was the panel making fun of Sherrone Moore. I would love to see a barren field at Pioneer where they generally set up, but instead, everybody going to Big Noon. Let's make it a big spectacle. I am posting this now because it generally takes some time for momentum to build on ideas like these and to spread the word. FUCK ESPN!

No, it doesn't work, they mute out the background when that happens because it's not live, it has a delay. Just don't go. They're not going to show your sign. Seeing a bunch of people behind them is what gives them all the power. Have it empty. If you are there it appears that you are supporting ESPN because people on TV just see you there.

I approve of your original idea. In addition, if the box is filled with Michigan fans (as it should be), it would be best if they had no signs and just stood there without clapping / waving. Just make the "binocular" sign.

I agree with others that the cooler poopers will show up in force if there aren't any UM fans.

This is the way to do it, but do it at the last minute possible. Let them announce on TV that they are going to Ann Arbor. Let them get on planes and then when they are in midair revoke their access to campus. Make it so they can't change locations because they have moved all their equipment to Ann Arbor. Then they can either not have a college game day show or they have to have it ten miles from campus in a Mobil parking lot.

I think everyone should actually crowd into the GameDay Venue. Then as soon as the crowd is on the TV in the background, they should all Boo and walk away showing a mass exodus of Michigan fans and leaving only buckeyes behind. Then ESPN can have their home crowd for the entirety of the show and Fox can have theirs as everyone trickles in to the Big Game Saturday set.

We should also all wear CS facemasks or hold up blank signs, just 1000 white boards and cover the entire background on a "snapcount". But that type of coordination won't happen ...

I don't think there will be as many osuck fans there this year.  For years there's been way too much red in that stadium because they knew they were going to win and it was sickening to see and hear "OH-IO in the corners of the stadium in the 3rd quarter after they had a comfortable lead. After the past 2 years they know they're walking in a mad house against a proven Michigan team.

I don’t know who is the decider on this; I wouldn’t expect Warde to make any waves, but I don’t get the impression that Santa is afraid of at very least a gentle troll. Tell them that campus property is currently unavailable; there are some open parking lots in Saline you can try.

Let them know the Friday before kickoff that they can't set up on University Property.

Because Pete Thamel is an asshole, the University of Michigan has to provide a punishment to ESPN, and that is the game day crew, as they are the face of the NCAA Coverage.  I'm just spitballing.
