Is there an explanation as to how or why UM would med DQ a guy that goes on to start for Minn and then be drafted in the top of the 3rd round?

Probably not far from the truth.

Was listening to Brendan Quinn’s pre-draft pod from the Athletic and they opined that this might be a failure of the staff’s patience (at least in the past) — St. Juste couldn’t stay healthy in his first 3 years on campus and thus “wasn’t on the team” in the Harbaugh way of thinking.  He was able to graduate in 3 years and when they suggested he take a medical he was able to go elsewhere as a grad transfer.

Glad it worked out for him - hopefully being drafted made the 2 years of having to deal with PJ worth it!!

Jaelan Phillips was also med retired at UCLA and went to Miami and ended up being a first round pick. Shit happens I guess.

What did the Michigan doctors see that the NFL team doctors didnt?  My guess is that their was more than a medical diagnosis that went into the decision.

Is there an explanation as to why you simply titled your post with the name of the player without bothering to summarize with some context for why you made this post?
