Not really, but I can kick…

Not really, but I can kick it.

I have a pretty good…

I have a pretty good imagination. How about 5 wins or less and zero wins in the Big Ten?

Maybe? But, IMO, the number…

Maybe? But, IMO you're spot on with the coaching issue. The number of times he simply threw the ball away speaks much more to his own poor decision-making (that was never effectively addressed by coaches) and lack of fundamentals (that was never taught by coaches) than to whom he was trying to pass the ball.

We NEEDED Manuel to act…

We NEEDED Manuel to act quickly. The SS Quick Acting sailed during the Sanderson incident.

So what? A good mid-major…

So what? A good mid-major would destroy us and MSU this year and if one had been inserted into the Big Ten they would've finished in the top 3 and been going to the tournament.

This is wishful thinking…

This is wishful thinking. Howard had two draftees last year and Dickinson and couldn't do shit with them.

Howard took two good…

Howard took two good transfer players who could play defense and turned them into something worse than they were before. Shannon, for all his talent, received much, much better coaching at Illinois than what he would've gotten here. To say that he'd be the same type of player here as he was this year is wishful thinking.

FUCK YEAH!

FUCK YEAH!

Pro tip: Don't feel bad for…

Pro tip: Don't feel bad for a young man who gets to make tens/hundreds of millions of dollars playing a game because their genetics lined up just right. It's a serious waste of your "feel bads."

He could afford to hire a…

He could afford to hire a chauffeur with that salary.

Good. Now fire him or tell…

Good. Now fire him or tell him he's required to engage in alcohol counseling as a requirement for his employment.

Agreed.

Agreed.

Times have changed and it's…

Times have changed and it's not the man's first.

Fire him now unless he's…

Fire him now unless he's willing to engage in some serious alcohol counseling as a requirement to keep his job. He clearly has a problem with alcohol that's seriously impacting his life. If he's willing to put others' lives at risk because he's too arrogant about his drinking or too drunk to call a ride share then he has no business coaching at Michigan.

Right?!  I'd trade for a…

Right?!  I'd trade for a well-coached team and great defense who played "ugly" for whatever the hell these past two seasons were.

IDK about this take as a…

IDK about this take as a head start "meaning nothing." Warde definitely blew it by not firing Howard earlier and giving Michigan a lot more time.

OSU has been putting feelers out for the past month and coaches interested in a job there have also had time to do their own due diligence and discuss potential moves with their families. That initial process alone can take weeks as both the coach and the potential new program even decide if it's worth pursuing. And OSU got to do it well before any of these candidates were focusing full-time on the post-season.

I recommend a cup of coffee…

I recommend a cup of coffee instead. Works every time for me.

If you're saying he should…

If you're saying he should be "considered" you are, indeed, arguing that he should be hired.

I understand that beggars…

I understand that beggars can't be choosers, but IMO, I disagree about the good information aspect the post. Completely writing off Smart's massive faceplant at Texas as things "not going as planned" is the same as writing off Howard's failures here with the same phrase.

NO NO NO! He failed at Texas…

NO NO NO! He failed at Texas, he'll fail here, too.

I'd much rather take a proven mid-major guy.

I’m not tipping my cap for a…

I’m not tipping my cap for a guy doing the most obvious and required part of his job.

FFS, that's a gigantic …

FFS, that's a gigantic "might" and an even bigger "if."

Yes! My spring break starts…

Yes! My spring break starts today and goes for two weeks!

Franz, can't you celebrate…

Franz, can't you celebrate that this article came out right now when it could help push Warde to fire Howard or even get Ono's attention so he could get rid of Warde?

I'd argue that a leader…

I'd argue that a leader would say something along the lines of, "The players played hard and that they, the university, and fans all deserve better."

Reports are Vanderbilt is…

Reports are Vanderbilt is about to fire Stackhouse. The Commodores went 9-23 and in his five years never made the tourney. The last time Vandy lost as many games was in 2019 they fired their coach.

Agreed. IMO, given the lack…

Agreed. IMO, given the lack of attention to detail, poor defense, and bad boxing out that is endemic to the team would only mean a player like Terrence Shannon regresses here and wouldn't have looked anything like he does now.

So in regards to Dickinson…

So in regards to Dickinson you give us an "if", "could have" and another "could have."

There is no telling what Dickinson's contributions might have been except that we can look to last year when he was on a much better team and though he played well still did not play up to his potential, sulked all the time, embarrassed himself and the team, played horrible defense and couldn't/wouldn't lead his team past a terrrible Vanderbilt team in the NIT. The assumption that he would've provided some sort of mythical "senior leadership" is not reflected in reality.

I hope it's personal as well…

I hope it's personal as well as business.

Oklahoma RBs haven't been…

Oklahoma RBs haven't been exactly lighting it up under Murray. I understand that their offense isn't close to what ours is, but IMO, that guy isn't close to jaw dropping.

"inclined" LOL.  That is was…

"inclined" LOL.  That is was wishy-washy as anything I've heard from Bacon.

IMO this is right on the…

IMO this is right on the money. It's not like Howard is coaching 2 and 3 star players in a super hard league. This non-boxing out, crap defense, terrible court awareness, poor offensive consistency product is 100% on him. To keep him hired is going to plunge the program into an even deeper hole and take even longer to dig out of.

So badly coached. So, so, so…

So badly coached. So, so, so, so badly coached.

I understand the film…

I understand the film argument that others make, but it also mystifies me a bit.

For all of Caleb Williams' film of amazing plays (vs mostly subpar defenses for his entire career), there are a ton of him completely screwing up a play, taking a sack, or throwing an INT because of his own poor decisions. Seems film cuts both ways in this case.

JJ is relatively young and…

JJ is relatively young and inexperienced compared to the other QBs in this draft and other drafts, yet he lost one game as a starter, was a true team leader, and performed very, very well in ultra high-pressure situations. JJ is only going to get better and better as he continues his physical development and gets more experience and coaching. His ceiling is higher than so many QBs in the NFL. Barring injury the guy is going to be one hell of an NFL QB. I don't understand why folks can't see this.

Any JJ hater is just that, a hater.

There’s video of Penix doing…

There’s video of Penix doing the same thing that JJ was. So likely not performative at all.

He's also in his 70s that…

He's also in his 70s that likely played as much or more into his decision as NIL.

LMAO at you if you really…

LMAO at you if you really believe that BS you posted.

C'mon, man. Hus situation…

C'mon, man. Hus situation and that of CFB players if apples and oranges.

The restrictions that might've kept Saban from seeking greener pastures don't mean much to deep-pocketed alums/Athletic Departments of football crazy universities. They would've happily paid the buyout if Saban was serious about leaving. It's just that Alabama was also willing to renegotiate Saban's contract at the drop of a hat to give him more pay and more power if Saban demanded it.

Saban's hypocrisy over his…

Saban's hypocrisy over his frustration about members of his team wanting to know what they'd get paid is honestly hilarious.

LMAO at "barely beat." GTFO…

LMAO at "barely beat." GTFO with that revisionist baloney. That means you also must think being forced to drive the field for a TD with a minute to go vs the best defense in CFB and not making it = barely losing. You're just a silly concern troll.

You need professional help…

You need professional help if this is what can get you so riled up.

IMO, Shannon and Love would…

IMO, Shannon and Love would've regressed under Howard especially defensively, just like Nkamhoua and Burnett did.

I'd say it's confidence and…

I'd say it's confidence and being relaxed because other teams all know they'll be wide open all game and that Michigan will fall apart and lose.

Admissions isn't a caveat…

Admissions isn't a caveat. It's a lame excuse because from everything we've seen Shannon and any other top transfer would've regressed under Howard's "coaching" once the Coach B's player's left.

All true, but Beilein’s…

All true, but Beilein’s first two teams never played with so little awareness. And they didn't get worse and more pathetic as the season went on.

I was thinking along similar…

I was thinking along similar lines with our win total and it could be as high as 11 more.

I think better coach the same talent and we definitely don't lose to:

LBS

Memphis

Oregon

IU

Florida

McNeese

Minnesota

Iowa

One of the MSU

Both Rutgers

I'd take just tries on…

I'd take just tries on defense.

My head knows you're right,…

My head knows you're right, but my heart says that the football team's National Championship means it's the best year ever for Michigan athletics.

You're definitely correct…

You're definitely correct there. I haven't seen a worse team in Crisler and that includes the dozens of baby seals we've brought in (and now sadly lose to!) through the years
