This source is a local Charlotte sports reporter so I think he’s credible.

If all goes well, it should be Michigan as Sam Webb gave his gut feeling on the MGoRoundTable today

I understand that part, and Zeppelin's reverence for Chicago Blues. I was referring to the "going down South / going down to Chicago" part. Years ago, before I knew it was a blues cover or the context of it, I used to hear it and think, "Man, I love Zep, but they might wanna learn a little more about US geography."

So in years past with the signing of the stars and all that the coaches definitiely coordinated with the recruits on when they were going to commit.  With the scenario Denarded paints you got to wonder if the coaches are coordinating this as well.   Is Harbaugh organizing a religious rivival type atmosphere of social contagion.   Do other recruits see the levees breaking and jump on in?   How 3D chess is Harbaugh on all of this?

Exactly. There are two phases to recruiting now with the portal which, in many cases, is a more sure way to evaluate players since they already have some college experience.

Perfect example - and it pains me to say this - is Notre Dame picking up QB Hartman in the transfer portal. He was the #1 Portal QB and will make a huge difference in that team this Fall. Basically, the missing piece the last couple of years for ND was the QB position and now they have a college proven QB

Still extremely early for rankings. Schools with more commits right now are at the top. Many top recruiting schools lay back and are bringing in several."  top kids to evaluate. Right now the main thing I look at is the school's "average per recruit." Alabama is really notorious for this method. They lay back and then BOOM they get several top commits in the late summer and early Fall

  1. Has he visited anywhere else even like 1/4 the amount of times he's visited Michigan?
  2. Does the commitment really change things? Not trying to be a downer or anything, but keeping him committed might be the real battle, right? Commitments from QBs of his caliber in the NIL age don't seem to mean much. Obviously it's not a bad thing though.
