I mean, clearly the highlight is Higdon and Evans - combined, they were:

29 carries, 391 yards, or 13.48 yards per carry. I could get used to that, although obviously I shouldn't get used to that.

I know we’re running a ton but you’d think we would get Peters some more passing experience and get him more involved. He’s gunna need to make really good reads and quick decisions 2 and 3 weeks from now. Hopefully the Maryland game sees him get 20+ passing attempts.

We absolutely murdered them on the ground. Still can't pass protect with any consistency. Won't matter vs Maryland but we will need a little more through the air to compete with Wisky.

We still suck in pass pro, so I don’t understand the criticism that we should’ve made Peters throw more. That’s just courting injury. They murdered them running, which was awesome.

Our O-Line is getting punked by pass rushers left, right and up the middle. Peters had free runners coming at him on a number of occasions and of course he got destroyed that one time. All it takes is that one time.

The inability of offensive linemen to do perform their jobs in these plays is significantly affecting the playcalling and general offensive flow. Peters got back after that hit (though it wouldn't have shocked me if he had been concussed) but IMO you could tell after that that he was being a bit rushed and looked a bit like O'Korn on a few throws.

You won't beat Wisky or OSU without being able to pass the ball a bit and if our coaches can't trust our O-Line not to get the QB killed in these situations, it basically makes it impossible to pass. That's why there's so little play action..those plays take a bit to develop and that's not something we can pull off with this O-Line atm.

we look so much like Wisconsin it's not funny. That is going to be a killer game. Really hoping for a noon match-up, but probably going to be 3:30. I Think we can win that game!

Did we make any progress with our passing game? OSU won’t let us be run only and win the game. I️n Harbaugh I️ trust (but still weary).

Would have liked to see Peters pass more. We are going to need him to be more experienced passing on 1st down. Can't run the ball 60 times against OSU and Wiscy and don't want that to be the first time he really passes this year. But yeah, the running game is looking dominant

Hard not to consider the competition the last 2 weeks but man our OL looks improved. That said, all previous posters with concerns about passing game are right and I am starting to see why Speight was the starter. Peters got mashed a couple times when he should have killed the play and went with a run. What's better? Letting Peters get killed or trying to finish out 4-0? Maybe they're not mutually exclusive with the newfound run game.

...and all the individuals that are making comments about how great are running game is, and pooh-poohing valid criticism concerning the (lack of a) passing game, better not start gripping about why Michigan didn't try to pass against Wisconsin or O$U when they were stacking the box with 8 or 9 defenders.

The upside... Higdon, Evans, the blocking for Higdon and Evans, Peters making solid decisions and not turning the ball over. The downside... missed assignments on pass protection - thought that caused Peters to short-arm one of his last passes even though he had time. He looked quite rattled from that big blind-side hit (who wouldn't?) I hope he has a solid week of practice and comes out next Saturday with renewed confidence. This is such a different team from last year. Between 27-36 points in every win (albeit every single opponent they've beaten has either 3 or 4 wins on the season).

For the amount of money the offensive coaches get, and their pedigree, it's shocking how bad the passing game is. Peters has got to stop floating passes so much too.

Great running game means Peters didn't get many attempts or experience in the pocket and making reads.  Hopefully, he'll get more opportunities against Maryland and Wisconsin before osu comes to town.  Then again, if we run for 400 yards against all three, I'm good with that.

A QB who just throws a pass that is catchable is making a world of difference for the offense.  At some point they'll have to actually catch a few to stay with Wisky or the a-holes from Columbus.

Why do people think we won't be able to run the ball on OSU? With what we've seen, not only the past 2 weeks but since the bye week, we should put up 250+ yards on anyone we face.

I mean, I'm happy, but I'm also looking ahead and wondering if we will have anywhere near this success on the ground against Wisconsin and OSU.

Last year we were tearing it up on the ground, then bogged down against Iowa, Ohio State and Florida State. And that was with a superior aerial threat.

We aren't running the ball like that against Wisky or OSU. You all know that. Peters is going to have to complete downfield passes in order to win. Tonight would have been a great time to run some of those plays, but Harbaugh opted not to.

Peters has to stop floating passes so much. He's got a great arm, he needs to use is. It's almost like he's trying to put too much "touch" on his passes.
