MGoFastFood Vote
Year 1 - MGoCereal: Results
Summary: Cinnamon Toast Crunch is king, Brian Cook as a cereal mascot, and a vicious debate in the comments about whether you pour the milk or cereal first.
Year 2 - MGoHalloweenCandy: Results
Summary: People like Reese's, candy corn sucks, and something about candied genitalia.
Year 3 - MGoFastFood
It's time for the 3rd installment of my divisive, food-based poll series. This time the focus is on fast food joints.
Rules:
1. Click the link and type in your answers to the following questions:
What is the best fast food chain?
What is the worst fast food chain?
What is the most overrated fast food chain?
What is your favorite fast food menu item?
I'll count up all the horrible misspelled results and post them here on Saturday before Minnesota(actually Monday it turns out) along with some notable responses. Poll ends sometime Friday evening.
2. No rules. If you want to rally the Ronald McDonald/Colonel Sanders slashfiction subreddit for votes, that's fine. The poll is set up to only accept one survey per device. if you break that to rig a dumb poll like this, it says a lot about you.
3. I don't care how you or anyone else defines a fast food restaurant. If it's a fast food restaurant to you, go ahead and put it in the poll.
The poll is here. Go crazy.
Poll is closed, don't click there.

Wait. There are people who pour milk first?

I'm a cereal first guy, but the rest of my family is milk first. They add the cereal incrementally to avoid it getting soggy. I can see the logic in that, but old habits die hard.
October 31st, 2017 at 3:19 PM ^
On Thanksgiving do they get a big bowl of gravy and drop in the mashed potatoes from on high, cackling as slop scalds you and any other reasonable people around them?
November 1st, 2017 at 6:37 PM ^
In the context of this particular vote, I believe they most likely fill their cup up with pop at the fountain, then dump in the ice and let all the pop slosh out of the cup again.
November 1st, 2017 at 11:54 AM ^
Today is the first time I have ever heard of milk being poured first. That seems stupid to me. You pour the cereal and then the milk. How has this ever been a debate?
November 2nd, 2017 at 2:36 PM ^
My mom always poured the milk first and put it away before I even came out for breakfast. I hated it, because the cereal would float on top rather than absorb the milk, which made some of the rougher cereal (Apple Jacks, Cheerios) impossible to eat without scraping off the roof of my mouth. But she's an immigrant, so she didn't know any better.

is diddlydumcious.
October 31st, 2017 at 6:40 PM ^
I was at Starbucks last week and randomly got asked if I pour the milk or cereal first. I thought something was weird and they were putting me on but apparently one of those working pours the milk first, the other two along with me, thought it was the most ridiculous thing they ever heard.

Why the hell would anyone do that?? It'd take twice as long to eat it!
October 31st, 2017 at 3:25 AM ^
If anything other than In 'N' Out wins most overrated then I will be ordering a federal investigation into the validity of this poll.
October 31st, 2017 at 8:30 AM ^
i now realize i misread the original in n out post. i agree - most overrated by far!
November 1st, 2017 at 9:26 PM ^
But I think In N Out is the best and the most overhyped.
October 31st, 2017 at 9:51 AM ^
But Chick-Fil-A was the most overrated garbage food I've ever had.

is the most healthy thing you can purchase at a fast food venue. So it must be right. Anyway, I have twice kept my 13-year-old from eating worse garbage by telling her it was that or nothing. Which don't point up the contradiction in that like she did.

Kids play area is what makes it the go to when we need fast food.
November 1st, 2017 at 11:48 AM ^
As a former Chick-Fil-A employee, it is one of the best, if not the best. Coming from someone who ate it 6 days a week for a year and still loves it. I still like Taco Bell more because I hate myself, but it's right up there. Can't beat the service or quality.
October 31st, 2017 at 3:19 PM ^
I voted Chick Fil-A as my favorite. Two Chick Fil-A chicken sandwiches, one with no pickles is my go-to order.
November 1st, 2017 at 11:15 AM ^
Other members of my party were really excited to be eating it, and I just sat there being unimpressed.
October 31st, 2017 at 3:17 PM ^
At least In-N-Out is economic. Whataburger is expensive and overrated.
October 31st, 2017 at 4:48 PM ^
In-N-Out has Whataburger beat in cost and milkshakes (hell yeah, Neapolitan!).
Whataburger's burgers are far better. Plus, it has breakfast. I think the fries between the two are a push.
The longer I've been in Texas, the more I find In-N-Out to be overrated, and Whataburger to be climbing in my estimation.
October 31st, 2017 at 6:35 PM ^
I was horribly unimpressed with Whattaburger. Tasted no better than like, Carl's Jr. Fries were bland.
In n Out, I like, but it is pretty overrated. Still would rather go there than most fast food places, but it's not the holy bastion of food a lot of Californians make it out to be.

Whataburger is low quality food. INO is better. Try Habit Burger. Very good.
October 31st, 2017 at 7:20 PM ^
cheese, fries, and a chocolate shake? not expensive, decent nutrition (albeit a bit high in fat...) and tastes great for the type of meal you are buying/paying for.
November 2nd, 2017 at 4:37 AM ^
There's nothing wrong with the food there, it's all fine. It's overrated because Californians are so goddamn convinced that it's better than other major chains. I'll grant that it's better than McDonald's and Burger King, but not by that much. Five Guys has better burgers and fries with none of the cult worship. Potbelly has vastly superior milkshakes.
November 2nd, 2017 at 5:56 AM ^
do they still have pollo loco out there? what about rubio's? those were my two favorites when i lived out there but since they weren't national i didn't list them.
November 1st, 2017 at 9:50 AM ^
Boooo, In n Out is awesome.
November 1st, 2017 at 11:19 AM ^
I always think of Hot N' Now every time I see In N' Out. Does anyone know if any Hot N' Now locations still exist? It wasn't until I was older that I found out that an olive burger was not something you could find outside of MI.
November 1st, 2017 at 12:37 PM ^
The one in Bay City held on forever, I want to say it was open < 5 years ago.
Olive burgers were the go to. I was tending bar and chop up the olives for my olive burger lunch.

People still go there, so to me, that means they are over-rating it by rating it as edible. The Burger King near my house never has anyone in it. I'll drive by and see it completely empty with no one in the drive through lane. But somehow it stays open. I think it must be a front for a drug-dealer. Think Breaking Bad's car wash. There's another shop on the same street for a psychic/fortune teller. How is that a real business? Who goes to those places outside of carnivals? It's gotta be a drug front. (I've probably watched too many episodes of Breaking Bad and The Wire recently.)
November 1st, 2017 at 4:16 PM ^
You just described every Burger King in America. It's a head scratcher how they still exist and that someone owns them.
When I was a kid, BK was pretty darn awesome though.
November 3rd, 2017 at 3:22 PM ^
look up burger king epping nh drug bust.
Kid was selling it through the drive thru. Got so popular someone posted the codewords on facebook and that was it. Hilarious.
October 31st, 2017 at 3:20 PM ^
I prefer McDonald's over both BK and Wendy's. The McDouble is best fast food burger you can get for under $2.

I like McDonald's, too, but not more than Wendy's.
