There was a pretty big article a couple years ago that was about the payouts and it listed the SEC directly as the biggest beneficiary. In that article it listed cash as the king for recruiting.  Typically it is business men who had lots of cash flowing through a business and are able to skim some off here and there and it not be noticeable(car lots were an example).  It had interviews with a bagman and he laid it out in great detail.  I found the article btw...

It is eye-opening but not at all surprising.

Thanks for putting this together. It puts it in perspective how abnormal OSU's run has been since 2004. Hopefully we see this as the year that things turns around. Go Blue!

I didn't even know Indiana had fans that cared enough to troll other message boards. So... Congrats I guess?

If you don't understand his subtle reasoning for breaking convention in this case then you are far too dense to follow this here blog.  This was even after he replied to you and played coy about discussing that team we wish not to jinx.

This is a pretty shitty take to crap all over an article that you get for free. This isn't Bleacher Report and the people that write for this blog give a shit. We are fortunate to have people that love Michigan athletics cover the major sports. GTFO.

I'm surprised they didn't suggest Zach Smith. It seems he is available, unless Twitter is his new full-time gig.

I dont think you understood the question. You did get it with the last sentence. I will give you that.

Edit: dammit you did a ninja edit to correct your response.

To piggyback on your comment, is there a place to learn the very basic terms that are used in these and Neck Sharpies?  I have been confused about the terms like front or back-side as terms for alignment.  As much as I love the articles, a lot of it is still above my head because some of the basic terms don't make sense to me.

And yes, I jump down to the discussion about what it all means.

IMHO this is the wrong way to look at it.  It is not like the team never misses on a highly rated kid that Brown likes.  Obviously, if Brown likes a kid, then I will be all in on him.  But, we shouldn't pretend that if a kid is rated lower that he is definitely some diamond in the rough.  I say this is someone who is not a STARZ guy.

I agree. That is a piss-poor reverse jinx. I for one am wearing my M sweatshirt my wife got me after the Notre Dame game and we are undefeated when I wear it. Additionally I am drinking no MI beer tomorrow in case it was tainted by a Spartan.

Also I am fully aware how stupid sports are and how miniscule my life is.

MSU wins in a respectable manner and no one puts a tent spike in their hallowed ground.

How many of these threads are we going to have?  Here is the previous thread where the issue is addressed and then explained.  https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/meta-ads-middle-posts

Per Seth: "At the moment we are running a test program through Google that tries out all sorts of empty spaces for ad positions, and then we'll pick which ones we want to keep that aren't annoying but also mean we get to keep doing this for a living."

Second this, especially his album Gold.  It has that bright 70's rock pop thing going on.  He has other albums that are better IMO, but that is a great place to start.

Also, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Nightsweats.  It might be more 70's Springsteen than Petty.

Looks like I am late to the party on this one. But, I will throw in my $0.02. As others have said read and write as much as you can.

I have found Chuck Wendig at terribleminds.com to be a great resource for people who are new to writing.  You may have to go back quite far, but he has many blog posts that are directly about writing advice. If you become more advanced, you will outgrow his insights.

Also, it is rare to pen an autobiography and it get picked up unless you are either famous or have some serious hook in your personal story.  Jack Kerouac is a great example of someone who wrote their story and turned it into a first-person narrative.  So, autobiography as narrative is a good direction to go.

Enjoy being a pen-monkey!

Whenever Beilein is fired, you should definitely throw your name out there as a possible replacement.  That is, if you can take time away from your NBA career to do so.

I heard this on NPR on my way in to work and was in total disbelief. I only recently really got into his show, but it had already completely changed how I view the world.

Recently, he covered rural West Virginia on one of his shows.  It is an area I have spent some time working in.  He and the rest of the crew did such an amazing job of highlighting the humanity and struggle of a population that has been exploited for so long.

Tony will be greatly missed and never replaced.

I had thought the same thing when I saw Eric was the one to find him. They had such a great friendship on the show.  You could tell these were two grown men that had a great relationship and enjoyed each other's company.

IF WE PLAN TO USE HIM AT THE 2 THEN I ASSUME WE ARE NOT IN ON WATTS?

05/25/2018 - 11:10am Not really a comparison

It was documented that the guy came off as complacent to Harbaugh.  If I remember correctly, it seemed he slacked off his senior year and declined to come work out at the University. I am sure that when he had his offer pulled, he got a fire lit under him and decided he would show the doubters that they were wrong.

His performance at Oklahoma does not necessarily directly correlate to his potential performance at Michigan. For example, see Peters.  He was third string and complacent, according to the accepted narrative. Once it looked like he would get his shot, he took his role serious and buckled down to learn the playbook. Motivation can be a huge determining factor when looking at performance.
