It's win or else in the Power 5..........How long did he last?  Three years?

We beat hem so badly that the Gators just could not come back...............this year at least.

Did that shark thing have anything to do with it?

Put some clothes on for the next interview.

If I were Florida I want someone with at least 3-5 YOY track record of excellence.

Chip Kelly

My first call would be Bob Stoops. He'd provide an instant recruiting boost. After that, straight offensive guys down the line. UF had a defensive guy and he didn't work out. They got an offensive guy, but a guy who ran the type of offense Saban featured before the change-over with Hurts last year. The dinosaur offense that had stalled out, even with Alabama's talent. They should look for an innovator spread-type. Fuente if he can be pried from VT. Mike Norvell, the Memphis coach. Brohm, Morris, and Frost are all great names.

he claims to be done with HC. He has UF ties and it would be a clean break from OU. He could also get a fresh staff and rebuild the whole program. Dino Babers would be my call. The guy is a helluva coach, offensive mind and great with college kids. He has good offenses without great talent - so FL talent could really make it hum. Mid 50s age so he has 7-10 yrs left.

He fucked himself by saying what he said this week. Made the UF administration look like a bunch of fools. Had he not said anything, he probably would’ve been given another year, or at least until the end of this season to turn things around.

But this, combined with the off-field disaster with Callaway and Co., the disaster that’s been McElwain’s offense, and the curbstompimg they just took from Georgia, it was all just too much.

So, Tennessee will pick him up then? Have a highly successful 6-6 season followed by a 4-8 and then he will get fired the 3rd year about this same time of the season for going roughly .500...meanwhile, Butch Jones moves to Florida and promptly humps sea creatures

Top of the list:
James Franklin
Matt Campbell
Bobby Petrino

Middle of the list:
Joe Moorhead (PSU OC)
Chip Long (ND OC)
Chip Kelly
Brent Venables
Charlie Strong

If we have too list:
Kevin Sumlin
Jeff Brohm

Florida is a lateral move at best. Whatever they offer, PSU can match and then some. And it’s not like Florida can even play the “We’re in the best conference” card anymore. It’s Alabama, Georgia, and then a lot of shit.

The Big Ten is the best right now. Or the deepest anyway. The only thing I could see Franklin leaving for is a HC gig in the NFL.

He's rebounded this year at Arizona, now ranked in both polls.

His offense is incredible (Khalil Tate).

He'd be able to recruit Florida.

The key is does he want the extra stress/attention and is he willing to make adjustments with his defensive schemes and hire a DC who can run that side of the bowl like Harbaugh has let Brown run our D.

He can go 8-4 forever and they'll be happy in Tucson as long as he beats ASU with some regularity. Occasionally he'll have a 4-8 season but will also have a 9-3 or 10-2 so it will balance out.

A bunch of 8-4s would get him fired in Gainesville, and given how bad his defenses always are, even 8-4 might be a stretch in the SEC.

UF is an elite job with fertile recruiting, resources, fan support, SEC appeal, and weather. Scott Frost? Chip Kelly? Bobby Petrino? Jimbo Fisher? I think it will be Dino Babers or Jeff Brohm. Dino would be my first choice if I were the AD. His offenses are good without relying on great talent or gimmicks. Calm enough to handle the chaos of another coaching change and a very good motivator of colleg kids.

OK - the Gators are 3-4, but the team was in the SEC championship game in 2015 and 2016. Wow, hard to imagine a Big Ten coach reaching the Big Ten Championship two years in a row being dumped mid-season.

But I guess there must be more to know.

It's hard for me not to see Florida making a run at Kelly. He promises a cure for Florida's offensive woes, has brand name attraction for recruits and is currently looking for a job.

Who will provide for them now. Just another stat in the one parent household. These innocent baby sharks are the real losers in this deal.
