On a serious note, it is always sad to hear when someone loses a job. After 2008 my family was hit with some tough lay-offs so I can really empathize with those individuals. Furthermore after the loss against Georgia, McElwain was asked tough questions from the press and handled them with class. I wish him the best in the future.

He couldn't elaborate on the death threats and so they can probably get him on that...but I bet if you search twitter for "McElwain" and "die" I'm sure there would be plenty of evidence because twitter is a horrible place.

I will always have fond memories of getting the whole bar to yell "Shark Fucker!" every time his face appeared on screen during the UF-Michigan game. Miss ya Mac.

Going to be big moves on the coaching carousel this offseason. There are plenty of coaches to pick from in contrast to last season:

Frost, Morris, Morehead, and Campbell are definitely getting paid. Mullen, MacIntyre, Schiano, Kiffin, and Babers will most likely have chances to move to a more appealing position as well.

But eventually a coach needs to stay at a smaller but up in coming school. Tom Herman, for example bolted to UT, don't blame him, but he would have been untouchable if he stayed at UH and simply had nine win seasons. So UCF and USF are ranked and I'm sure both coaches will eventually bolt to big school de jour. juxtapose this with JH who is a product of the big school history which makes sense. Scott frost tips should stay and dominate FSU and UF and get paid there. Free unwanted advice for professional game coaches

McElwain is already out. Jones (Tenn) and Mora (UCLA) are all but certain to get fired, while there are a number of other coaches at major programs (Sumlin, Riley, etc.) who could very well join them. That's going to mean a bunch of decommits and shifting preferences on all sides. I hope the staff is preparing for the potential downstream recuiting effects from the coaching changes.

but still this takes the cake as far as program fickleness goes.

Remember the entire saga around his hiring, too. The mission to Colorado where they basically got on their knees for McElwain. All that for 2 years and a half..2 years where they did OK and one down year.

On to the next guy to promise the world and fire after a lack of nattys in the first 3 years.
