OT: Top 3 schools you would like the Football team to schedule a future Home/Home against
Pretty self explanatory. What 3 programs would you like to see Michigan schedule a future home/home series against.
Keep in mind we already have future tilts scheduled against Texas, Oklahoma, UCLA, VT, Washington.
Mine in no particular order
LSU
Clemson
Stanford

Stanford would be a great choice because as a child of the 90s, I still love the old Big 10-Pac 10 dynamic and we have series with Washington and UCLA.
I'd love to play Georgia. They feel like the SEC's Michigan in a lot of respects.
I think a series against Miami would be cool also. We haven't played them in 30 years.

LSU - We've never played them. Would be fun to see them venture north. I hope early September weather is not too cold for them.
Texas A&M - Another of college football's biggest venues. I went to Kyle Field for Midnight Yell but I've never been there for a game, plus it got a lot bigger in the years right after my visit. A MoJo hallmate of mine teaches there and I could stay with him. Assuming I could get a ticket to the game.
Pittsburgh - gets us some visibility in western PA for recruiting, their stadium is actually closer to my home in Cleveland than Michigan Stadium is, and I'd like another shot at Narduzzi while he's still there.

I've always thought Tennessee was the most Michigan-like SEC team with the 100,000+ capacity at Neyland and strong band tradition. I could see the case for Georgia, though. Athens and Ann Arbor are both exurbs of large cities, their top rivalries are with the flagship universities in the next state south, and both of those rivals are insufferable rednecks. I lived in Gainesville for eight years, and I always pulled for the Bulldogs in the Cocktail Party. I like this thought experiment. What are the most Michigan-like schools in the other P5 conferences? Mine are:
SEC: Tennessee
Pac 12: Stanford
Big 12: Texas
ACC: Uhhhh, UVA, Pitt, or UNC?

FSU, Miam (YTM) and TA&M...play in target rich environments...maybe USC

...And not for basketball. Their football program may be worse than Rutgers.

I think I get where your head is at, although Kansas is less a tune-up game and more "winning this game conclusively proves we are not deceased" game. Still, if you get this game in a rare year where Kansas is at least passable and the Big Ten is having a rough go in the start of the season, it might sway one voter in the polls.

Agree with the theory on recruiting environments, but except for USC I don't see those being as fun as some other teams we could match up against.

Three times a month, eh? So basically, this thread is like doing the laundry, cleaning the bathroom, or showering?

I can make another Jemelle thread again. Or how about a good Sparty thread? Or a totally non political political thread?

I saw Peters practice at the Spring Game. Based on that one time seeing him practice i can vehemently tell you, we are leaving a Natty sitting on the bench right next to him.

for threads that have no business being posted during the season (this is one of them, this does get asked like every week in the summer) to push better threads off the front page. So it is warranted to get in a thread to complain about the posting of a poorly timed thread.

really poorly timed?

If you hate this topic, why not just avoid it?

Repeating threads are fine. A few more electrons running around on my computer are inconsequential. The number of self-appointed "thread police" on the site are tedious. Do us all a favor. Stop whining.

by that logic, this thread is fine and should be allowed. Really all of the thread police need to take a step back and realise how pathetic and annoying they are.

by far the best non-conference home and home option. It is a historic rivalry, it is high profile, and it is geographically very accessible for us.
Sure, a lot of these other series would be fun and novel once, but after that one time, it'd be meh. The ND rivalry is timeless.

Their field is the wrong shade of blue to make our all Maize look good.
One of my friends was once talking about "Worst possible uniform" games, and came up with Oregon playing Bowling Green in whatever bowl they host (hosted?) in that stadium. His description was "It'd be like watching a rainbow vomit in your living room". I think Michigan with the all Maize on that field might come close.
