Gus Johnson...come on down.

FOX also has ND/MSU at 7:30. Neither one of those teams will be ranked, but it is primetime.
FOX's B crew is Joe Davis and none other than Brady Quinn.
September 11th, 2017 at 3:01 PM ^
My guess is Gus and Klatt will be on the prime time Notre Dame-MSU game. Not sure who is the #2 Fox crew. Brando & Tillman or Brady Quinn?
September 11th, 2017 at 2:20 PM ^
Woah, I'm going. I was expecting a noon on BTN though.
September 11th, 2017 at 3:08 PM ^
Pretty sure its been "3:30 or 4pm" on mgoblue for a couple of months.
September 11th, 2017 at 3:20 PM ^
In addition to the Air Force game, BTN gets one more Michigan game: the rule is at least 2 games for each team on BTN, and at least 1 of those must be a conference game.
I figure the Rutgers game (homecoming, locked in to the noon timeslot) is the most likely BTN broadcast now.
September 11th, 2017 at 2:23 PM ^
Is an odd start time.
September 11th, 2017 at 2:53 PM ^
I think the 4pm start is a FOX thing now. The Nebraska/Oregon game started at 4:30pm ET last week. Army/OSU has a 4:30pm ET start this week. This may become a new normal with the Big Ten partnered with Fox now. I think they are staggering their start times from ABC/ESPN.
September 11th, 2017 at 3:01 PM ^
I like the staggered start times. It was pretty frustrating last week that OU/OSU and Satnford/USC started within 30 minutes of each other and Auburn/Clemson 30 minutes before that. I get that all the networks want their slice of the primetime viewers, but having the night kicks happen an hour apart from each other would have been so much better for the fans that want to catch the optimal amount of the decent matchups for that week.

given MLB game lengths these days, there's a fairly good chance U-M/Purdue coverage will have to start (a) on a different channel or (b) on-line. Be forewarned.
In more "inside TV talk" --- FOX can't have U-M/Purdue start at 4:30 because the prime-time game is ND/MIchigan State. Part of FOX and ABC's new deals with the B1G is that any prime-time games on either network where a B1G team is at home must start at 7:30 (as opposed to 8).
That's why Oklahoma/Ohio State started at 7:30 last week. Looking several weeks forward, Michigan/PSU will likely be a 7:30 start too (as opposed to 8).

I just looked at the MLB schedule for Sept 23. There's only one game at the 1:00 pm slot that day and it is not shown as being broadcast nationally on Fox (Tigers are on FS1 that day per the fox sports schedule I looked at). I'm not sure how baseball makes those determinations or if they typically move game times around.
I really hope they don't try to put other live sports on after baseball games in late September without at least 4 hours of buffer. Expanded rosters mean expanded bullpens and seemingly endless pitching changes plus the potential for extra innings.
Also just FYI ESPN, ND and MSU's websites have that game starting at 8:00 PM and not 7:30.
September 11th, 2017 at 4:54 PM ^
Fox has "Wild Card" baseball broadcasts on Saturday, September 23 & 30 at 1:00. They pick 2 games each day to broadcast depending on which games are most meaningful for the playoff chase.
That 1:00-4:00 broadcast window sounds like bad news for Michigan fans.
September 11th, 2017 at 4:58 PM ^
Got it. Thanks. I was really hoping they didn't flex games like the NFL does.

They have TBDs as placeholders, generally wait to see what is most relevant for pennant races. I imagine something like Cubs/Brewers moves to 1 PM ET.
You're right on the 8 PM MSU/Notre Dame game. My fault, apologies. The 7:30 start time is for ABC B1G games only (PSU/Iowa also on 23-Sept was just announced for 7:30). Makes it a bit curious why Michigan/Purdue wouldn't be at 4:30 then. Would give them a MLB cushion.
September 11th, 2017 at 5:02 PM ^
No clue. It's pretty much a guarantee that a national broadcast MLB game will not be over in 3 hours.
September 11th, 2017 at 5:02 PM ^
FOX likes their 4-hour time slots--they started doing that last season.
FOX often picks Big 12 games for their afternoon slot. Those games can easily last 3:40 plus, so they have an extra buffer compared to ABC, which shows the generally quicker games in the ACC, B1G and SEC.
The official listings show "FOX College Football Extra" from 7:30 to 8:00.

So...what happens when the MLB game lasts until 4:45? Do we miss the first quarter of the game? Since FS1 is taken during that time slot, there are only a few options: (1) FS2, which nobody gets--it's not on Xfinity, (2) FX or FXX or even Fox News Channel maybe, (3) Online on Foxsports dot com or something like that.
I think #2 is pretty unlikely, and doing #1 only would be a disaster, so I think we might end up having the first several minutes of the game online only.
But yes, you might want to check right now to find out if you get FS2. Oh, and be sure to send a thank you letter to Jim Delaney.
September 11th, 2017 at 6:40 PM ^
Luckily I am going to the game so I won't have to miss the first quarter due to MLB.

Remember when we could only win road games in the state of Indiana?
Who's got it better than us? I ask you.

If Cincinnati had a decent QB we would have lost this past Saturday. Watch the tape homie

He couldn't cut it at Minnesota. He's now riding pine at CMU.
Another stellar analysis, Braylon.

Kekoa Crawford didn't have earn it like he did. And to add insult to injury, a freshmen DB is wearing #1.

September 11th, 2017 at 3:13 PM ^
Ask Braylon. I thought the whole #1 jersey thing was overblown to begin with.
September 11th, 2017 at 2:40 PM ^
He may want nothing less than a return to LLOYD CARR'S UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN.
I wonder who the coach would be? Terry Malone? Braylon Edwards OC?
September 11th, 2017 at 3:26 PM ^
Brady Toke.
September 11th, 2017 at 2:41 PM ^
He's a couple hot takes away from landing his own ESPN show.

How are jersey sales in Ohio doing? Has the tide turned yet?

I don't think he ever really got over the RichRod thing and I think the Great White Hoke flameout just totally killed any regard he had for the program. He's the last Carr loyalist in a world where nobody cares about that feud and a hopeless self promoter to boot.
September 11th, 2017 at 2:33 PM ^
You know I used to stick up for that asshole here in Cleveland when people got on him for his constant dropped passes.
Nice catch Braylon.

Leon Hall with the phantom deflection.
September 11th, 2017 at 2:33 PM ^
There was this game in 2015 against Memphis:
"Moore come off the bench and throw for a school-record 557 yards and four touchdowns in relief of starter Gunner Kiel, who was knocked out of the game following a vicious hit."
This leads me to believe that Moore has at least something there, and the offensive issue was more than just not having a decent quarterback there, Braylon. They were only about 7 pieces away on offense from beating Michigan, homie.....
September 11th, 2017 at 2:35 PM ^
Edwards needs to cool it on the criiticism. Michigan definitely had trouble getting up for that game and executing. But Cinci needed a lot more than good QB play to be in that game.
September 11th, 2017 at 2:51 PM ^
Braylon is just a bitter asshole who, as his aging takes him farther and farther from relevancy, turns to steroids, booze, and hot takes more and more.
Hope you deal with your insecurities well, Braylon. Michigan Football will survive without you.
September 11th, 2017 at 3:30 PM ^
Since I kind of know your backstory I have to ask. Did you play with Braylon?
September 11th, 2017 at 3:00 PM ^
Ya know what? Fuck that guy.
September 11th, 2017 at 3:07 PM ^
Cincinnati's noodle armed QB gave us 14 points and missed a bunch of open guys, but at the same time, Braylon is so butt hurt about the #1 jersey and his brother not playing here that I can't listen to him complain about anything anymore. He's a whiner
September 11th, 2017 at 3:08 PM ^
Wow. That is a straight up insult to UM's (great) defense. I hope they see that tweet and it motivates them even more.
September 11th, 2017 at 4:23 PM ^
We live in a world where I agree with Beanie Wells over Braylon Edwards now?? Goddamn it.
