Tufele: “I was surprised that Tufele was not a little bit bigger physically, but that did not stop him from absolutely dominating during Army week. He was unstoppable in one-on-ones, a physical kid who also has tremendous speed to shoot gaps and get in the backfield. Once he adds even more size to his frame, Tufele could prove to be even more unstoppable. Ohio State, Utah, BYU and others remain involved.” – Adam Gorney, Rivals.com National Recruiting Analyst
Ruiz: “The rare polished high school center, Ruiz is a natural fit for the position. He shined at this year's Under Armour All-America Game, where he displayed impressive extension and solid power. The fact that he's spent his high school career snapping the ball from the center spot is a bonus for Michigan, which could use him at both guard and center early in his time in Ann Arbor.” – Rob Cassidy, Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst
Gay: “Gay was one of the most impressive players at this year's Mississippi All-Star Classic. He's added significant muscle this year and has retained the same athleticism that has always made him a special prospect. Once committed to Ole Miss, Gay will likely land at either Michigan or Mississippi State.” – Cassidy
Vilain: “Vilain will be a great pass rusher at Michigan, but at the Under Armour All-America Game he showed that he's not a one-trick pony. He played with more power than ever before and had lots of success in practices. Vilain's presence in the backfield during the game showed he will have success against elite competition.” - Friedman

That the OP provides the rankings without showing how those players moved from the previous version of the ranking shows just how little he knows about my laziness. I am mad as hell...
January 16th, 2017 at 1:06 PM ^
I made ammends.

Thank you. I despise doing things for myself. ;-)

Anthony was not listed in the article of players receiving the 5th star so apparently he was already listed as a 5 star on rivals. I thought he was a 4 star on all sites as well but apparently not.
January 16th, 2017 at 1:04 PM ^
This would be correct. He received that bump the previous re-ranking.

Here's where they were when the initial list was released in the summer of 2015 (Rivals 100, Rivals 250). Some of those guys made huge leaps.

For you, Uncle Leo...
Is it a counterclockwise swirl?
I prefer clockwise, but it's not written in stone...

He can do every move I've ever done! Do you know what a good mechanic is worth?

YEAH old guys quoting a 20-plus year old show!

They must have not liked his AA Game and practice a lot because he was #52 before this update.

McCaffrey is still #52
EDIT: Sorry he is actually outside the top 100. I got kicked over to the old rankings when I clicked on the link.

When I clicked from the article over to the rankings list I ended up with the old rankings not the updated ones

That is a ridiculous drop for a kid who has been getting great reviews.

POY in Colorado
January 16th, 2017 at 1:05 PM ^
My understanding is that McCaffrey is a multi-sport athlete who is much more raw than a lot of elite QB recruits.
January 16th, 2017 at 3:44 PM ^
is that if his brother had won the Heisman this year, Dylan would likely be in the top 25 ... simply on genetics. Rankings can be that subjective.
Go Blue!

Not sure if serious...but if you are, he's got a NFL dad and an All-American brother. People know who he is. Success or hype wasn't going to carry him any further - he just wasn't consistent during practices when they saw him live. It's subjective.
He was always headed for a redshirt, IMO he'll get his 2 years to start once Peters leaves. He's going to be REALLY good in 3 years, but he's got to get bigger, stronger and pick up the speed of the game like most freshman do.

possibility of a few more. Wonder if this is the most top 100 players we have ever had in a class.
January 16th, 2017 at 1:41 PM ^
Nope. We had 7 top-100 prospects in the class of 2005 (Kevin Grady, Marques Slocum, James McKinney, Mario Manningham, Antonio Bass, Cory Zirbel, Terrance Taylor).
January 16th, 2017 at 1:46 PM ^
class. Good stuff.

There was certainly a disproportionate amount of crazy in the '05 class.
January 16th, 2017 at 2:20 PM ^
was the kid from Jackson High that suffered a career-ending leg injury, right? Talked to his mom at the Spring Game that year, really nice lady. /cool story bro

1 outright star out of that group in '05, 1 solid although not quite star contributor, 2 injury-shortened careers, 3 of the biggest busts we've ever had. I think maybe that was when the downturn began?
So that after that '07 happened, and then RichRod came in to no talent and a scheme guaranteed to make the least of what he had. I'd say those 3 highly rated busts and 2 unfortunate injuries set a tone for long bad spell following '06.
Minus beating Urbs & Tebow in Lloyd's farewell game!!!
January 16th, 2017 at 2:38 PM ^
Yes, but also 1 outright Fuck Lion.
January 16th, 2017 at 2:47 PM ^
Fuck Lion?
January 16th, 2017 at 2:58 PM ^
Don't worry about it - he was one of the outright busts I mentioned above - and he wasn't even good at being a Fuck Lion!!!

Marques Slocum.

I think Terrance Taylor had a very good career for us. Maybe not star, but no where near bust

Florida State has been killing it over the last month. Are they a threat to pass us in the overall class rankings?
January 17th, 2017 at 2:59 AM ^
A small threat. They have three 5* and six 4*. That's 9 guys against our 18 (one 5* and 17 4*). If I'm not mistaken they only look at each teams top 20 players and FSU has 21 commits right now.
