Yeah, Bruce Feltenberger is a total asshole.

But as to not interacting with recruits...Does this mean the photo of me in a thong on a bearskin rug I was about to send to Najee Harris is off??? :-(

This was my favorite meme of 2014. Every time a male friend on Facebook would post a comment about another friend's teen daughter - eg. "Your daughter is all grown up and just gorgeous now!" - I'd reply with no words, just the Chris Hanson...

Is it frowned upon to create a profile, dress it up in UGa colors and symbols and then say stupid shit the recruit and/or family?

I'm obviously kidding, although I'm sure this happens also.

In the cesspools of twitter where people tweet at recruits, I am certain this is a fairly common occurrence. The mouthbreathers tweeting recruits who gain enough setience to realize it isn't working probably evolve to the guys who make fake accounts to tweet at recruits.

Given the right environment and 10 million years, those guys then evolve to be posters at RCMB and MLive

I am not saying what he did is okay but it looks like he posted this on a page not affiliated with Isaiah Wilson or his mother. I'm sure there was many more of this in the comments.

I thought about that before posting. But my problem isn't really with the original post. Rather, it's the fact that he doubled-down when the mother responded.

The first post is standard trash-talk. It was the second post that really put his behavior over the line.

i noticed the same thing. although he is an asshole and his opinion sucks he didnt engage with her. she engaged with him after he posted his shitty thoughts on a neutral facebook page. but then he chose to engage with her after she called him out

Yikes.... Don't click on that (and then his FB profile) unless you want to truly feel shame for our fan base.

It is one of my dreams in life to be the final decision making on a hire and spin a laptop around with a person's ridiculous, trashy social media profiles and simply say "Sorry, we are not hiring you."

I can only hope that someone with reasonable sensibilities has replied to her apologizing for others being assholes.  We can be dissapointed in his choice, but it is his choice, and he can choose whatever he wants.  I wish him good luck.

But not for me obviously.  I find my efforts in tweeting recruits and parents of recruits quite helpful.  I have a four step process that I think is virtually foolproof:

1. Follow the player, the player's friends and family on Twitter

2. Engage in light social banter - let them know that I think Michigan would be their BEST choice (like duh right?)

3. Make sure they all know that the other schools they are considering contain nothing but cheaters, care nothing about the player's academics and wont help their NFL prospects one bit.

4. Threaten bodily harm to said player, friends & family if they choose school other than Michigan.

Your welcome.

There's one in every fanbase. Michigan is no exception.

I just hope Isiah's mom knows that this jerkoff doesn't speak for all Michigan fans, and that any reasonable fan would wish her son well. Bummer that he went to UGa, but its his choice, and his life.

sorry, can this come down?  This is not representative of the fan base and does not serve any purpose.  Nobody who was going to engage a recruit or their parents is going to be swayed not to by having this up here and it makes all Michigan fans look bad.

But in fairness, every big time program (and more than a few small-time ones) have assholes like this in their fanbase. People who think these kids were born to make THEIR sorry little lives better.

I agree, but I don't think this is a case of someone engaging with a recruit.  It appears he posted his opinion somewhere and she responded to it.  I do recognize that anyone who tells a woman to not get her panties in a bunch is probablt an asshole.

This is a great reminder for all to not engage in these actions, and that the majority of our fanbase disapproves of this.

Getting ahead of this before we (as a fanbase), get blasted on rival boards because of fools like Bruce Feltenbarger, reminds of when Eminem destroyed Papa Doc in the epic rap battle finale in 8 mile:
