I'm guessing by Mom's response we can let go of any of that hope that was out there about a NSD miracle with him? I wasn't holding my breath but asking for some friends on this board that are.

That's really unfortunate. And even while being attacked his Mother stayed calm and spoke with truth and sincerity, and still wished the asshole happy holidays. Bruce, if you're on this blog please stop making Michigan and its fans look bad. "Damn Lady"? You don't speak to women that way, period. Assholes like you make us all look bad. We hear about what it means to be a "Michigan Man" and how important it is for our coaches and student athletes to be held to a certain standard, among many other things. There's no reason why that shouldn't extend to Michigan fans as well. It takes much more time and effort to be a fucking prick than to do the right thing and be a good person.

oh my god what a complete moron.... this is something I would expect out of Ohio State's fan base.

We should doxx and shame as many of these people as possible.... they're hurting the program (maybe in a small way, maybe not) with this kind of crap.

The Mom is a classy lady but I think if people want to use social media they should block the random morons like the dumbass who sent that remark. So many nutty people out there.

Bruce should not have used the language he did in his second response but he is most certainly allowed to post in a public venue. Anyone of us could have made the first comment in our thoughts about another school and I have no doubt all of us have posted publicly on other websites or services.

I would have thank the recruits mom for responding explained my thoughts and refrained from using statements such as "I was joking" as he was not and "don't get your panties in a bunch." I don't think he desire to convey what he thinks is a mediocre program is wrong nor is he wrong for responding.

Gave you a downvote because I fail to see much of a difference between your public shaming and Bruce's. Looks as if you are attempting to a white knight in hopes that recruits might see it and gush.

Just because one has the right to express one's thoughts doesn't mean one should. The guy's comments were dumb.

However, I agree that there was no need to "blog shame" the guy. The point could, and has, been made without examples.

I cringe when I return to a post and notice a few spelling errors. You nailed my sentiment.

My main beef with this thread is Bruce posted on a public forum that the recruit's mom happened to read. Any Michigan fan could face a similar scenario of posting a public comment on a site only to be addressed directly by the offended individual (or family). Bruce could have responded better but this is clearly not a case where he was "seeking out" a recruit or family member. He saw the need to respond and he is allowed to.

The downside of public engagement is you open yourself up to criticism and Bruce has egg on his face. The upside is when you feel the need to respond to someone the opportunity is there. Our coach takes full advantage of this with his twitter account.

This thread reeks of a piling on after a former Michigan player outed a guy who handleself poorly on the internet. I have readily joined in on the discussion but I would have been fine not knowing who Bruce was.

That's embarrassing. I hate to think that there are Michigan fans that tweet and facebook negative stuff to recruits and families. I know there are jerks every where, but this really bothers me.

You know, the worst part about admonishing people who do what Mr. Feltenberger is doing above come when those people shoot back replies which would lead you to believe they are not doing anything wrong and are in fact stymied as to how you could think it is wrong. Those fans are truly lost causes and not worth time and effort as people, in my own experience.

I dare say that any adult ridiculing a kid for making what for them is a life-shaping decision merely because that adult doesn't like the choice the kid made is an adult with deep issues and one in need of serious help.

Is there a chance that Brucie is a false flag and not really Michigan?

Honestly, I can't believe this is necessary. It's the Venn intersection between "Stupid" and "Stalker."

He seems like an interesting character.

That's one of the biggest problems that I have with fan blogs and social media, in general. I really do not associate with with many such people in my everyday life. So to see assholes writing things like that on Facebook or Twitter is really annoying, especially when it seems like so many people do not care how what they say affects others. Sad.
