The Buick ads have made me swear off buying a Buick. The song and the whole “Be better than your neighbor” schtick makes me sick.

05/20/2018 - 4:34pm Movies I watch on an annual basis (excluding holidays movies)

- The Pianist. Putting the Roman Polanski debate aside, this is one of my favorite movies. Strikes the soul, beautifully filmed, loaded with humanity, and based on a true story to boot.

- Interstellar. It’s a movie that I can pick up and watch any time and not be bored. Beautiful soundtrack, great cast, exciting story with excellent effects.

- Raiders of the Lost Ark. Again, one of those movies I can pick up and watch any time and never be bored. See the list for Interstellar, all apply here.

- Adaptation. I consider myself a writer and this is the ultimate writer’s movie. And a Nicolas Cage movie where his acting really shines! Loaded with unconventional humor including jokes that don’t land until you watch the movie a second time, it’s always a fun ride.

Honorable mentions: Most of the movies mentioned above, LOTR trilogy, and my go-to action flicks, T2 and Predator.

I shop at Costco if I can simply because they pay their employees well and treat them better, and that’s something I think is worth supporting. I still have a Sam’s membership because it is closer and on occasion I will buy there in emergencies.

All those freshman QBs killing it out there really hurt me.

The two best teams are SEC teams. It’s what it is. I’ll watch, but I’ll not be surprised if the ratings for the game are low.

Why are we so bad at thread titles?

12/03/2017 - 10:36am That’s only way I’d like to

That’s only way I’d like to see it expanded. And you’re really getting a 12-team playoff with divisional champs. Seeing teams earn their way into the playoff and eventually a national title for the first time ever would be great. If they don’t go this route, leave it at 4-teams.

12/02/2017 - 6:50pm I was thinking the same

I was thinking the same thing, but figured I’d get jumped on if I pointed it out. I guess he’s saying it was auspicious that the foul happened, allowing Poole to come in? Still seems weird.

11/20/2017 - 2:00pm He said he’d be optimistic if

He said he’d be optimistic if it happened, that’s it. You should re-read his comment. And does your context help you qualify the losses as good or bad? Does that help you? I’m glad I haven’t heard anyone on the team provide rain as context/excuse for their loss against MSU. They’d be the laughing stock of football and deservingly so.

11/20/2017 - 1:00pm Good one, insults. It really

Good one, insults. It really makes your points seem more valid. The weather (MSU also played in the rain), bad luck (O’neill wasn’t prepared for the situation, MSU was and capitalized) the refs (yes, there were some bad calls early, but you ignore the fact that our offense imploded in the 4th. I think we had less than 10 yards of offense that quarter. Harbaugh played it conservative on offense and it cost us.)

Regarding the 2015 Ohio State game, I’m glad Bo didn’t take that perspective in 1969 when Michigan played what Woody Hayes called his best team he ever had and came out with a win. If “context” means excuses to you, it doesn’t make the losses seem any better. Yes, we lost all the games by a few points, but the bottom line is we finished 1-3 with a loaded team. The Iowa game should never have been close. If we played to win and not to lose against OSU, we win.

You sound like the cons in Shawshank Redemption. “I’m innocent, lawyer fucked me!” We lost those games mostly because of coaching. If you take that criticism as “Fire Harbaugh!”, you’re reaching. In no way am I saying this that. But coaching has cost us several losses. The only meaningful context is for this year’s losses, with Michigan being the youngest team in college football. Last year’s losses, with an absolutely loaded team, were on the coaches. Franklin won the B1G in his 3rd season and started in a much more dire situation. Dantonio won a share of the title in year 4. Can we not expect Michigan to match that?

11/20/2017 - 10:52am Could you point out where he

Could you point out where he said anything about Harbaugh? I can’t seem to find it. And is it unfair to point out his record against our rivals, which isn’t good whether this year is included? I’m all aboard the Harbaugh train, but it’s a valid criticism.

11/20/2017 - 10:12am Serious question

What’s the context of going 3-16 against OSU and MSU he’s refusing to look at? They’ve won a ton of conference championships and a national title and we haven’t in 13 years. Are we supposed to pretend that isn’t reality? Do you have to have your head buried in the sand to be a real fan?

11/20/2017 - 6:40am Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I didn’t say any of that. It has been more than a decade of “next year”. I’m acknowledging that reality. 2004 is a long time ago. And, please, stop pretending to be the fanbase gatekeeper. You’re not.

11/20/2017 - 4:22am “Next year” might as well be

“Next year” might as well be our team motto.

10/30/2017 - 12:51pm I always wanted him at

I always wanted him at Michigan, but, seeing as the guy hasn’t coached in a decade, coached college in a quarter century, nor taken part in 24/7/365 recruiting, I have a lot more doubts than I did five or six years ago.

Chris Balas’ podcast would be unlistenable if it weren’t for the recruiting coverage he has from guests. Balas himself has the thickest maize and blue glasses I’ve ever seen and lacks credibility IMO. I’ll believe this when I hear it from a credible source.

10/14/2017 - 4:44pm Compared to the last two

Compared to the last two years, we’ve had so little time for the backups to get playing time. I hope that changes soon.

10/14/2017 - 4:42pm I don’t see them much less

I don’t see them much less fearsome then IU. I’d be worried about Maryland more if they didn’t have QB issues. 8-4 is the ceiling unless the offense comes to life, 7-5 maybe seems reasonable.

10/14/2017 - 4:13pm Wisconsin, PSU, and OSU look

Wisconsin, PSU, and OSU look like longshots. The only game I’m confident in winning is Rutgers.

10/09/2017 - 3:27pm Somehow buy a critical amount

Somehow buy a critical amount of tickets in the first few rows of each section and give them to an organized, zealous group of fans who will stand the entire time the defense is on the field and scream. Enough people do it at the bottom, the whole section usually stands and screams.

You're totally right. Just watched the highlight again. The pass wasn't even close to as bad as I remember watching it live. Not a great pass but not a disaster either.

09/11/2017 - 8:55am It's laughable to see him

It's laughable to see him condemn the board like that knowing he's one of the few people that actually has the power to decide what is and isn't acceptable. Clearly he thinks there is plenty of women-hating behavior occurring on the board. No offense to BiSB, but I'd say he's obliged to do something about it if that's how he feels (unless the higher ups disagree?) Put up a meta thread about what is and isn't allowed here. Draw the lines and enforce them. I remember when certain risqué gifs were banned. The board seemed to have little issue with it. Ban hammer those who don't follow the rules. Get rid of the mysoginists.

09/11/2017 - 7:15am "Throw 23: Grant Perry runs a

"Throw 23: Grant Perry runs a quick slant to the right, and he’s wide open. Speight’s throw is too high and should have been thrown lower while hitting him in stride. The pass is caught by Perry nonetheless, as he makes a great and quick adjustment to catch it. Perry sheds a couple tackles and dives into the endzone for a touchdown. A 33 yard touchdown pass."

I've never been more disappointed in a touchdown pass than this one. I'm just waiting for the next pick-six interception or for Perry to get injured going up for one of these high passes.

09/11/2017 - 6:57am This.

Generalizing us all who post on this board as women haters is really bad.

ESPN isn't going anywhere, it'll just change form. It's like Hershey's or AT&T in regards to name recognition. The format and ways to access it will change but there will be an ESPN in some form for the foreseeable future. The name itself is too valuable.

Just moved to El Paso, ready to adopt UTEP as my other "cheer for the little guy" school right along with EMU. Excited to have the second oldest bowl game so close by. It's no NY6 game, but often gets one those hyped Pac12 teams that didn't live up to snuff like USC or Stanford.

08/09/2017 - 6:31pm Isn't this the reverse of

Isn't this the reverse of what is happening with realignment? Teams are "bundling" into super conferences, perhaps eventually all ending up in one giant conference, which then will be "unbundled", regionally, into divisions?

08/09/2017 - 6:08pm I missed half of the Ohio

I missed half of the Ohio State game last season due to internet malfunctions. God tests you in the strangest ways. I'll probably do cable too, until January. Is BTN available on PS Vue? If it is, I might roll the dice.
