Some Black and Gold Friday morning MOJO.

This just doesn't feel "Over". It just doesn't feel like the Football Gods will have this travesty. Not this time. There is a wierd cloud of hesitant excitement that is almost tangible on this morning. There is a sense of optimism and despite our efforts to fight it....it's winning. The colors black and gold spark a smile on this Friday morning. When the Buffaloes from Boulder take the field and do what is most necessary in Northern California this evening....it won't be a favor per say. It will be the service of justice. There was something about Coach McIntyre and those surprisingly potent Buffaloes on that September afternoon a few months ago. There will be something about them again this Friday evening. Kickoff is at 9pm ET. If you're reading this still...you will definitely be watching. Get excited folks. #GoBuffs

Our reward of getting into the CFP is to take on the most dominant team in college football. I look forward to the challenge.

Funny - I have been saying the same thing about Harbaugh, wondering how we could get into the CFP at 4 and play Alabama in the semifinals. I think Harbaugh and staff with a month to prep for anyone is a winning formula. I want Michigan to beat the best there is, so there is no doubt, no controversy, no "easy path" because this team or that team got knocked out on a fluke. UM vs Alabama? Bring it! The TEAM will be ready.

Alabama is very good and deserves to be #1. But let's not forget how down the SEC is this year. After Alabama there is a severe drop off in quality like I've never seen before. The next best team is probably one of Auburn, LSU or Florida, a team that Michigan waxed last year. LSU gave Alabama its stiffest test completely shutting them down for a half and holding them to 10 points, more than enough for a team that has an offense with a pulse to win. Also keep in mind that Wisconsin beat LSU in a game that wasn't as close as the final score indicated.

I would favor Alabama over any challenger but people were saying the same thing in 2014 and then OSU beat Alabama. Clemson had Alabama on the ropes last year. They can be beat.

I spent two weeks on vacation in Colorado in early August and smelled pot exactly once, and that was on the last day when some burnouts rolled down their car window in a parking lot as I walked past. I'd assumed it was going to be like Amsterdam, but it wasn't where we were.

This year is feeling like 2006 to me.  We have an awesome D, have a clunker of a game 2 weeks before The Game (although this one we actually lost, instead of sqeaking by Ball State) and then lose by 3 in a GREAT game in the horseshoe. We are ranked 1 spot out of the BCS/Playoffs. Then we have to sit back and root for someone else to knock-off a team ahead of us (most likely in the PAC-10) to get us into the BCS/Playoffs. I Hope this is where the similarities end.

In 2006, UCLA did this by beating #2 USC (YTUSC), but we end up getting jumped by a team that was previously ranked below us, but won their conference championship game. I just have a bad feeling that CU will beat UW in tonight, and then the B1G winner will inexplicably jump us to get into the playoffs.

Here we go again ... 2006. You lost me here: "This year is feeling like 2006 to me. We have an awesome D ..." An "awesome D" doesn't give up 42 points (to OSU) and whatever it yielded to USC. There were several good players on that side of the ball, but not a complete defense. Alabama aside for a moment, I think Michigan and OSU are better relative to the rest of the country than they were in 2006.

Agreed. 2006 Michigan and Ohio State were exposed badly in the bowls. This year, I think it's a valid question whether Michigan & OSU really are the two best teams in the country as they've both knocked off top teams from other leagues. Alabama hasn't done a ton either. Time will tell

The #6 defense in 2006 and the # 2 total defense in 2016.  They're both awesome defenses.

I didn't claim they were the Steel Curtain or the '85 Bears.

I'd be with you.  But I have a nagging feeling that tonight, Colorado will be hanging on to a slim 4th quarter lead, and the CFP gods (Woody Hayes, Knute Rockne, and Spartan Bob's uncle) will force a fumble as the Buffs try to run out the clock and Washington will kick a game winning FG.

On Saturday night, VT will beat Clemson and PSU will beat Wisconsin and we'll think we're in, but the ghosts of Wayne Duke and Bert Smith will force the CFP Committee to vote PSU in because our QB is hurt.

The Committee wants Michigan. There just has to be a reason. Michigan is the best 2 loss team in the country. If there is a 2 loss team in the field of 4....it will be Michigan. The eye test is going to Trump the B1G title game....that and the Pair of head to head wins over those contestants in that game.

exactly. you can't say it any better. No matter what happens with Penn state Wisconsin, Michigan best each of them. soundly. the Wisconsin game should have not been that close just on missed field goals. add in dropped deep balls and they got their doors blown off. the committee and the world want Michigan in. if either Clemson or Washington lose, it's hello playoff for Michigan.

that the second hghest rated regular season football game...one with a NOON start...will have an effect wwhen compared to the snoozefest of the B1G CCG...but Colorado has to do their thing (I don't think it matters what Clemson does unless there is complete and total chaos).

I was driving back from my office in Toledo down I75 last even and followed a VaTech University police cruiser for about 40 miles. Take it for what it is.....to me it's a great sign!

Wisconsin's problem is that they don't have a "huge" victory to hang their hat on. Sure, beating PSU would help, but LSU tanked this year, MSU tanked too, and they lost to the two Big Ten teams currently ahead of them. Close games, sure, but they lost.

If they had beaten us or OSU, or even not played us at all, they'd probably get the nod and the benefit of the doubt if they won tomorrow night. But those two losses loom large.

Unless they beat PSU by 40-50 tomorrow night, I don't know if they can make the jump unless both Clemson and Washington lose. And even then, they'd still have to contend with making it in over us.
