I am a fan of tOSU, and I visit here once in awhile when there is noteworthy news about Michigan that is of interest to me; we got a recruit you were after, vice versa, your coach does something newsworthy, etc. Ok, that's out of the way; now, I didn't read the 200+ comment post yet, so maybe this is explained there, but... how is Rome wrong? Let's throw aside the 'miserable' comments 'cause they're kind of ad hominem and be honest: he acted petulantly towards reporters who were just doing their jobs. If he wants to get press for hanging out with rappers, he has to expect to get the tough questions as well, right? Lastly, his reply is unnecessary and beneath him. He and Zach Smith over in Columbus both need to pause before hitting 'send'

Asking questions about suspended players isn't a tough question...it is a question that doesn't have to be answered, and shouldn't be answered.  It is a family problem, and it stays in the family.  It is none of the media's GD business.

It's none of the media's business to ask the names of the kids suspended (especially when three miss the picture but only two are in trouble)? I disagree there. The reasons for the suspensions should be kept vague, but why the names of those suspended? (Unless I'm off-base about the crux of the problem...)

The problem Harbaugh had was that they kept asking after he made it very clear that he was not going to provide any more information. At that point, pressing the question is just a phony attempt to look like they're being "investigative journalists", and a waste of Harbaugh's and everyone else's time. If they think that something really bad is going on, something that it's critically important for the public to know, in spite of Harbaugh's reticence, then they need to get their asses out there and dig it up. Real investigative journalism isn't done at a press conference, but that's all most of these hacks know.

He said he would handle it internally. Once he said that he considered the matter closed. The next question continued on the subject so he basically responded with "what part of internal is confusing to you? I'm not going to sit here and take your questions if you're not going to listen to my answers."

Sharks, Carolina blue has best answer. If you notice, Harbaugh rarely ever has wasted words, and he is usually precise with words. (compare with our previous HC.... welllllllll......, and uh, uh......) Reporter asked question which Harbaugh already addressed and made clear he wasnt going to answer. It's not so much the topic as it is the reporter seeming like he is not even listnening.

They can ask all they want, but no coach, and many choose not to, has to answer. It's arrogant to think your opinion on what questions Harbaugh should answer about two or three 18 year olds' mistake is more relevant than those involved. They have a right to a modicum of privacy whether you agree or not.

These people who 'cover' Michigan sports for media outlets should have had enough information to know who was suspended or in the dog house or whatever. Harbaugh, I'm sure, knows this. Did you see the press conference? It was asked enough times in enough different ways to get the idea Harbaugh was not answering. The horse's ass who kept asking deserved to get shut out. Maybe in the future he won't be a horse's ass? I doubt he actually learned anything, though. The whole tOSU thing is very little brother and meee toooo. It's a douchenozzle move and there's not anyone in the country who actually respects it except osu fans. Every university which is the University of (state name) could do it. There's a reason they haven't. It's called self respect. But, whatever, man. If that's what you're school needs to feel good about itself, I'm glad you've now got some self respect. Unfortunately you've got the worst fan base in the country. Not everyone, but there are a lot of OSU fans who are just miserable assholes. In my experience, they're significantly worse than msu fans. But your mileage may vary.

I like this game.

You started with:

There are plenty of things OSU fans do that are make funable.

Any of the following will be considered correct answers:

There are plenty of things OSU fans do: that are derisible, worthy of mockery, scorn, and contempt, are ridiculous, unintelligible, and unethical; that involves deficating in coolers; that constitutes arson; and that requires remedial english.

That was fun.  We need a new thread.  How many days until November?

I said "are make" is grammatically incorrect. You defended the use of "are" when the problem was "make." Now, proven wrong, you want to change your argument to "blah, blah, context, blah, blah." Your joke wasn't particularly funny, so any argument about context is pointless. The Michigan Man was right, and the Buckeye failed another English class.

You disagree, but you're still wrong. Bo never answered those questions. Thinking you're entitled to that info just makes me want to slap you around a little. If it's not criminal, it doesn't involve the public, asshole.

answer a question he thought was out of bounds. In no way am I knocking Woody I have always had  a great deal of respect for him, may he RIP. If you don't respect what that man did as a person and coach you don't know him very well other than what the Detroit media tried to make of him, that SOB coach of OSU.

Just because Jim H. did not want to play that 20 questions game until they trap him into embarrassing the player and family. That makes him a good man in my eyes. How many times did Hoke and RR answer too long and wrong? "Survey says" too many.

Jim Rome is a flaming ass and his squashing of people who get nervous or say dumb shit on his show is just another set up. He has screeners who field calls and they elect to put  those people on because the show is sucking that peticular day as well as make the people he says "rack em" to sound smarter.

is that Michigan is a public university and the public helps pay Jim 7million a year. So ask away, if they must. Regardless, I don't fault Jim for responding how he did. it's not like he stormed out right away. They kept pressing when he said he was done.

Just curious why that bugs you.

Jim obviously does have a media obligation because of his huge salary (although that's mostly because of TV revenue, not ticket sales, hence the reason he makes 5mil, while Bo made $150k). But these students don't get a dime of that, so why should they have their name dragged through the mud?

Can you explain which part of "gets free publicity hanging out with rappers" = "must answer repetitive questions about internal team matters"? I do not follow your logic on that one... Unlike in Columbus, if the players are charged with a crime in Ann Arbor, or face discipline for violating University policies, it will be gleefully published in the local media outlets. If they've merely broken team rules, then NO ONE is "owed" any explanation about which rules, or the penalty. We'd all LIKE to know, because we're curious, but it's the Coach's prerogative not to reveal it. Sorry to puncture your narrative. Now, Buh Bye!
