Harbaugh: Miserable, as always.....Jim Rome: A jackass, as always

If it's been posted and already removed, cave it. If Rome is persona non grata here, cave it. I understand.

I can't stand Rome and think he's a jackass, but he's not entirely wrong with some of what he states. I didn't listen to the interview, just read it, so I don't know if coach stormed off or how exactly the presser ended. Regardless (and assuming they were professional with him), reporters have a job to do, and asking about the suspensions seems fair. I totally understand the stance that things will be handled internally, etc., but I wish that he had slightly more patience with the media at times.

They asked, he responded, that should have been the end. Continuing to push ia a bold move, and one that didn't work out.
I work in sales. Sometimes I get pushy. When I do, sometimes I get the response I want and sometimes people blow up in my face. That's life.
I feel like internot posters are more upset about this than the media members who were there. Their response was most likely, "Eh, it was worth a try."

Harbaugh has every one in traing camp including the media. A few more of these and the media will learn boundries. If not they will be sort of suspended i.e no more info. I actually LOL when he cut it short. But I would have had more fun with Harbaugh giving his staredown and saying somlting like. What part of we are handeling it internerly do you not understand! Next!

I like to think of Jim Rome as that guy at work who will stay employed forever, retire quietly after 40 years and you'll always be at a loss whenever people ask you what value he contributed to the organization. I mean, you'll know what he did, but not how or why or even if it was something that needed doing.

Just because it's negative attention for Michigan doesn't mean you have to automatically think it is incorrect.

I don't think Jim Rome was referencing 49ers FANS, I think he was saying that the 49ers' front office and members of the media don't miss Harbaugh, which I can see...
August 16th, 2016 at 9:36 PM ^
Well is that Harbaugh's fault, or theirs?

Jim Rome is a tool..

"Nobody is ever sorry to see him leave"
Uhhh I've yet to meet a 49er fan that doesn't bemoan losing Harbaugh.

What is it about this one instance that is rubbing the media so wrong. Coaches not answering questions they don't want to answer is commonplace. It happens all the damned time, but this time it's like the media is turning it into a soapbox to stand on.
If any of these media members had half a brain to look at this from a perspective outside of themselves, they'd see that the world outside of the media doesn't give a shit that he didn't give all the details. I'm sorry that they feel jilted by the mundane. Now move on.

The guy is an industrial strength douche bag. His so-called show is a complete joke of sports talk radio. He caters to complete morons. I refuse to listen to any of his asinine diatribes.

People in the media would debate the number of angels on a freaking pin if they thought it would help their ratings.

Classy guy...bet all 11 people in his audience (10 of which are his mom & relatives) think he's great!

I disagree with Romey on this particualr instance, but agree with his general 'take'.
Theres the story of Harbaugh yelling "MEN ONLY!" when Jed York (?) entered the dressing room in SF. His relationship clearly deteriorated with some of his bosses. It sounds like the workplace had become toxic. Maybe his players loved him (sounds like it), and it seems like the fans loved him, but Harbaugh deserves some blame for things not working in SF. A real man would own up to that. For the record I have no idea if Harbaugh has discussed this but I don't think he has.
Harbaugh seems like a pretty awesome, quirky, intense dude. I see a mercurial side to him too, though. And hes 50 +. That can make things tough for longetivity in one place. I hope he's here for 30 years, but there are things about who he is that suggest that won't happen.
August 16th, 2016 at 7:31 PM ^
You're taking an anecdotal story "Men Only" and assuming it's true. More likely he said this is for the men only (team members) but I digress...Harbaugh is handling the media in exactly the right way. They are not his friend and he has a responsibility to protect the privacy of the kids who play for him.
Fuck ESPN and any of the other douches who can't take a hint.
August 16th, 2016 at 7:52 PM ^
I don't see why that story makes Jim look like the bad guy. Yes, it's obvious that the relationship between York and Harbaugh deteriorated, but by all accounts that was mostly on York. Either way, Jed York needed Harbaugh more than Harbaugh needed York, so it was on York to patch things up. No doubt that after that break up, Harbaugh is in better position than York is.
