he came out very, very hard in defense of Harbaugh on the satellite camp issue and all things SEC vs. Harbaugh. He fawns on Harbaugh most of the time. Here, I think he's being reflexively defensive of his media brethren, and that's about it. "Great coach, unbelievable coach" doesn't sound like someone who has it in for Harbaugh vis-a-vis Finebaum.

Just because the media didn't like Jim's answers doesn't mean he hindered them from doing their job. His told them 2 players were suspended and it will be handled internally. Move on

Weenie & the Lump ...aka, Greenie & Golic whined and bitched and moaned about the Orange Bowl thing and the whole cowherd interview ....this is just "media" whining on behalf of one another.

this is getting is rediculous. Nick Saban has done similar things during interviews, Mark Dantonio hung up on a phone interview, and yet Harbaugh is in the wrong here? Also, I love it when media pundits complain about all the coverage Harbaugh is getting as if they're not the ones who are doing the reporting. You don't get to cover every specific detail about Harbaugh during the offseason, and then try to use that against him.

I'll say it: I like Rome's schtick. The whole culture of the show is pretty damn hilarious. His takes are usually just angry soundbites that are pretty forgetable after the fact, but the key is when he gets on a roll and it works.

And, of course, it's always awesome when the Sklars guest-host. /sklone4lyfe

I think it's funny when someone says "answering questions is part of the job."

NO, it's fucking not part of the job. Harbaugh could literally go to a pressed and say I'm just here so I don't get fined and that would be reasonable. His job is to recruit, coach, educate, and mentor student athletes.

Answering every question some jackass in the media asks is not part of the job.

That's not true, wether he likes it or not he is the public face of the program so he does have an obligation to stand in front of the media and answer questions. Along with recruiting and coaching on Saturday's, press conferences are apart of the job.

This is an error in interpretation. He is required to do these pressers to feed the money side of football that Coach benefits handsomely from. An obligation is fulfilling the needs of the university and program. Pressers do neither. It is to keep football in fro tif people and, directly, advertisers.

It is an inconvenience but no obligation.

I feel bad for Harbaugh, any time he shows a little emotion on camera the media is all over it. Word to the media, leave him alone let him coach the team. Go Blue!

He's annoyed the media wants it both ways. They criticized him last fall when he went into sub mode last fall. He gives them unprecedented material all summer this year and they beat him up over it. He tells them to back off in this interview and they keep pushing. Don't blame him at all.

Pretty sure Bo and Woody never gave a fuck about media obligations.
Part of the problem with the world today is the wussification of society.
"Coach...don't talk mean to little Johnny, it hurts his feelings".
"Coach was mean to little Johnny today....".
Who gives a shit if some media guy didn't get his question answered 100% the way he wanted. They'll get more spin out of the Harbaugh emotion than they would if Harbaugh just would've answered the question.
We hired JH for who he is. Intense. Maniacal. Football loving genius. He's done more for the game in the last 3 months than any other man on the planet. If you want peace and harmony press conferences go somewhere else. I happen to like things the way we have them. There's no better man for the job.

Nobody is ever sorry to see him leave? Uhh, Jim, have you ever been to San Francisco? There are millions of people in that city that would give anything to have him back.

I get that Harbaugh is not everyone's cup of tea. That's what Michigan signed up for when they asked him to come back. But as long as he keeps winning, then I don't really care. It's the same reason that Saban can keep over signing or that Meyer can form circles of trust. They win.

Winning has a way of shutting everyone up and gets everyone's heads looking the same way.

Head Coaches who dont want to answer questions will always be in conflict with media members who want their questions answered.  I like both Harbaugh and Rome and I dont see how this reflects poorly on either.  Just the nature of their respective and conflicting job duties.

Offended by the tiniest things, like not answering a question about an internal matter. First, Angelique shouldn't have wasted her time writing that stupid article. Second, reporters need to listen and not ask the same damn question over and over.

Jim Rome complaining about Harbaugh, was a way to gain some attention to his show. He knew what he was doing and it worked. Many people are now talking about him and his show, who weren't even thinking about his ass before those comments. He was seeking some attention that would move the needle. Though people will eventually move on and barely remember what he even said.

wants to through Freshmen to the wolves. Sports casters are among the lowest forms of primates. Their job is to create controversy for the sake of ratings and to feed the trolls. I admire Harbaugh for keeping his players out of the tabloids; even though enquiring minds want to know!
