Over at your site, you rate every Michigan commit. You had Enis at 78 (Solid starter in the Big 10). And he was almost at 80 on your scale, which is a "very good starter." So, does this mean that at this point, you think that Michigan should only recruit guys who you rate 80 and above? I don't know all your ratings of every player, but iirc, there are plenty of solid guys who you had below 78. Maybe it would make more sense for you to have a post on this over at TTB, going over your ratings of current commits, etc.
Also, I don't see that you ever gave a TTB rating to E. Swenson. Was that an oversight, or deliberate?

know what or wasn't in the works with this "other situation", just say Swenson, because that's who you are talking about. Can we all stop pretending that just because we read some text exchanges that we know the complete story? I'm not buying that the kid was blind sided. IMO, there is a HUGE difference between "I had no idea this was going to happen" and "I didn't think the coaches were actually going to pull the offer". Wait and see what JUB has to say before we keep pretending that we know all there is to know about "that situation".

Dude, I know the complete story the situation. I make it a priority to know pretty much everything about the lives of hs football players. It's a passion of mine. If you don't know what happened, that's cool but don't act like we all have to wait for JUB to say something before we "get it". Let's stop pretending here.

is that you....? If this isn't you, I do (as do many others) trust the information that comes from JUB as he has proven connections. Forgive me sir....

I'm really not sure if you're serious.

per the Sam Webb thread, that I was indeed correct. Be gone with your negs!

that we are only hearing and will ever hear one side of the story... coaches cant comment until the commit signs, and by then the staff would be better to let it just fade away. that being said, swenson is being pretty classy about the whole thing too.... the people making the biggest fuss is us, and the media...
January 21st, 2016 at 10:02 AM ^
Not true. Coaches can only not comment on UM commits or prospective, they can comment on players that they are no longer recruiting and who won't be part of the class as much as they want.
January 21st, 2016 at 11:09 AM ^
That's actually not true. Once a recruit, you're always considered a recruit. In addition, once a booster, you're always a booster. NCAA doesn't have specific time periods as to when your status terminates.

is this the same thing as saying, "I do declare" before saying what you were going to say. Isn't saying something the same as declaring it...?

Well.....
For all the joking we do, I sincerely wish him all the best at Oregon (unless it is against us) as even though he was not cut out to our our HC, Brady is a good man.

The positions are being upgraded, albeit in somewhat a cold cruel Darwinian manner.

Unfortunately, far too many seem not to care. Winning is much more important to a lot of people who find that the ends justify the means.
They seemingly look at these kids as one might look at a player in a video game, not as a real person. If a kid gets hurt from something that may be a little shady, that's ok as long as the team gets a short term potentially positive benefit from it. Just a replaceable part.
Perhaps this type of person feels no real committment to a spouse after being married for a number of years, having an affair with the attractive much younger newcomer. Hey, committment only goes so far, and it feels good...
I don't understand the appeal. What type of psychic gratification does someone achieve by being a fan, an observer - not someone actually playing or part of a support staff , you know, someone who actually achieves the gridiron success - to justify and excuse what many view as unethical recruiting behavior?
January 21st, 2016 at 11:29 AM ^
It's a privilege to play at Michigan. Just like its a privilege to attend Michigan as a student.
If they were just being two faced and holding out until signing day than yeah that's messed up.
